As a former soldier, I'll be happy to send her a card. I know only too well how lonely and difficult training can be especially in the beginning of an Army career. Please keep me posted on her address as I'd also like to continue to send her some encouragement from time to time. Kay

May God bless you for your concern and understanding. Please make sure to mention that you know "Mama D". She will know who that is.
I am offering one package of “Avery Yellow Removable Dots”. Each dot is ¾ inch round. 24 per page. 1008 dots total (there may be one or two sheets missing from the package). These are printable using Avery MSWord template #05462. Although they are technically “removable”, you can make them permanent by add permanent adhesive to the back.

I'm such a ditz... I posted this on the wrong thread. Sorry.
Many of you have been asking for an update on Lindsay. Just got a great letter from her. I'll edit out the parts that you would not be interested in... but here is the rest...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dear Momma D
I don't have much time to write tonight but I just HAD to write to you. Thank you Sooooo much! I've gotten soooo many amazing letters of encouragement and beautiful cards from friends of yours. They've always put a smile on my face and it definitely cheers me up when I'm having a rough day. To sum up how I'm doing -- I'm doing GREAT. Currently leading my platoon as platoon guide which has been such a great opportunity. I have the highest APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test Scores) score in my platoon for PT so that's a plus too. I've overcome things I never thought I could do and I've grown so much. God and I are closer than ever and that's been helping me through. I have so much to tell you and fill you in on. I just don't have time to write everything tonight. Just know that I appreciate those letters... its amazing! Love Ya Momma, I'll write again soon.
PS... If possible, please write one of those gumball cards to Pvt Lopez, Isabella (same address as mine). She's my battle buddy & she's awesome. She doesn't get mail much & I know she absolutely loved that card you made me! If you can do that it would be great.
All you guys who are sending cards really bless ME as well as blessing them with your notes. Lindsay was VERY appreciative and seemed concerned that Isabella had almost no mail coming in. Apparently that was why she joined the Army - there was no one back home to stay there for. Keep sending cards and keep them both in your prayers -- as well as ALL our service men and women.
Thanks for sharing Lindsay's photo .... she is so pretty! Perhaps Isabella will have a photo that you can share since we have "adopted" her, as well!
Thank you for sending a card to Isabella. I will see if I can get a picture of her as well. Bless all of you who are encouraging these two young women.
Loved the check-in from Lindsay! Thanks for sharing her words with us
Cards went out today to both Lindsay and Isabella -
Thanks so much. I know both girls will love getting your cards. I'm going to send them both an other card this weekend.
Anyone else want to send a card? See Post #52 for details...
CraftyMom - LOVE those cards. Thanks for sharing. And to all you others... I have so much to be thankful for. God bless you for sending cards to these awesome young women.
Update on Lindsay & Isabella
Saw Lindsay over the holidays. She looks WONDERFUL. She could not stop talking about all the cards she and Isabella received from you all. She was amazed that a number of you sent more than one card - for Thanksgiving, Christmas and "just because". She also mentioned one woman who was a former Sargent herself and who was very encouraging. Both girls apparently received more mail than just about anyone in their barracks and it made them feel wonderful. Lindsay said that when either one of then had a bad day, they would go back and read and re-read the encouraging notes that so many sent. It really, really REALLY helped (her words). LOLO Anyway, just letting you know that the two of them will be back at the same address (listed below) this week and that they will be there through about the end of January (so mail cards quick....) before they head back home for a short leave. Their group (or at least part of it) deploys to Afganistan in March. Please do send one more card if you are so inclined. Also keep them in your prayers. I will post a "new" address for both girls as soon as I know where they can receive mail. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
