Does anyone here watch the HBO series Game of Thrones? They have books also, but I haven't read them. I have only engaged in the series on tv. I love the story and can't wait until the next season.

Heather, I think you will like CJ Box. I have read all of his books this year. He was a new to me author at the begining of the year.

Had a few days off this week, so playing catch up on the pile!!
Ladies Night by Mary Kay Andrews
A Bat int the Belfrey, Sarah Graves
Jerusalem Inn, Martha Grimes
Deadly Stakes, JA Jance
Sizzle, Julie Garwood
Crystal Garden, Amanda Quick

I started Inferno, by Dan Brown but I had to put it down and walk away for a bit.

Got 2 more days off, so I hope to whittle that LARGE pile down!

Inferno has such mixed reviews, I haven't purchased it yet. Am hoping to pick it up at a sale in case its as bad as everyone is saying. Why did you put it down, just not keeping your attention or content?

Orphan Train was fabulous! I didn't want it to end at all.

I am now reading The Aviator's Wife. Not sure if I like this Audible book. The reader is a bit monotone for now. I hope it gets better.

I don't have HBO, but I've purchased the first two seasons on DVD. Plus, I read all five books on my Kindle. I'm waiting very impatiently for the next book to be released, but from what I've heard it won't be for another couple of years. Apparently, George R.R. Martin takes his time! I did have to print out an Internet map of Westeros while I was reading the series so I could keep track of where the action was taking place.

I just picked up The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg at the library. I did read the short story Pros and Cons, which is sort of an introduction to this book. I enjoyed it well enough, so I thought I would read the full book. I think it's going to be a fast read.

Enjoy your DVDs. Also, you will see the maps when each episode opens. Pretty cool and gives you an idea of where everyone is located.

I know, the next book cannot come soon enough. I do have HBO so I watch the series as it unfolds.

It was hard to get into. If a book hasn't grabbed me by page 50 or so its history. Waaayyyy to many books to read to waste my time. IMHO!!

Okay, so The Aviator's Wife has finally SUCKED me in!!!! Lovin' it now. It has 3 parts to it and I am still in the 1st part mainly cause I do it on Audible but I love dragging them out when I get interested. My DH says I am wierd. I do that with movies too. I will begin to watch then record then go back later (and later can be weeks)...DH has to finish it all right then and there. Doesn't like coming back to savor the story..I guess that is why I love my Audible books so. I can savor them so much longer.. LOL!

I like easy reading or light amish mystery. I am currently reading 'Emily and Einstein"
Amazon.com: Emily and Einstein** [EMILY & EINSTEIN] [Hardcover]: Linda Francis'(Author) Lee: Books
about a guy who comes back as a dog, to learn a life's love lesson. Rather funny reading sometimes, an easy relaxing read.

I am on the third part of The Aviator's Wife. I just went through the part where the Lindberg's son went missing then found dead several mo's later. This book is very interesting.

Hey Everyone,

I find myself cruising this thread on occasion, but I'm not sure that I have posted before now. In any case, I love to read and teach Intensive Reading to 11th and 12 grade students. Due to my job, I mostly read teen lit, contemporary not classics. Tonight, I'll begin The Book Thief for the first time. I've read another by Zusak, I Am The Messenger, and I really liked it!

My three favorite books that don't fall into the teen lit category are Unbroken, A Discovery of Witches, and Tattoos on the Heart, a Journey of Boundless Compassion--all excellent books!

Will check back for recommendations soon!

I loved A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness - Reviews, Discussion, Bookclubs, Lists.

Now I'm reading
Beneath This Man (This Man, #2) by Jodi Ellen Malpas - Reviews, Discussion, Bookclubs, Lists

Defiantly kindle smut, but some of those books labled YA have made me cringe.

Not sure what happened with my post above. I was trying to color code one and it didn't take the first time then re-posted.

Anyway, I should have the 3rd part of Aviator's Wife wrapped us this week. I sometimes hate it when a book ends though. Seems like I am losing my relationship with my characters. Anyone else feel this way?

Have you read the second book in this trilogy yet? If not, it's called Shadow of Night.

I'm reading " The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. I saw the movie in Feb. But I prefer books over movies. I only get time to read on Sunday afternoons.
