Good morning Stamp Addicts.

Yes! TGIF!

I have plans with a GF tomorrow night for dinner and then go to see a stage show that my SIL is in. It's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Deam Coat. He plays the part of Simeon which I have no idea what that entails except there is singing and dancing. They did feature them on a local News station the other night probably because the News station's weatherman is part of the cast and his wife is the musical director. They are also trying to raise money for a building to house the local theatrical productions. We are supposed to have more rain this weekend, so I hope it's not too bad that we can't get out to the show.

LOL! I'm sorry, Kelly, but that made me geeeegle... just picturing a car full of people sitting in their car in the roadway waiting for the alligator to wake up. Reminds me of the time when Brock came face-to-face eye-to-eye with the goat that had been tethered to our fence during Bible School. They'd tied it too close to the gate and said goat was guarding the gate. Brock was terrified and wouldn't go through the gate, but also wouldn't return to the church. I came out some time later - maybe 30 minutes - thinking Brock was home enjoying his rocking chair, only to find the stare-down taking place in the sidewalk. LOL!

Morning!

Maxine, that's great news about your husbands eyesight!
Shelly, enjoying any time off lately? When are y'all going to China again?
Kelly, too funny about the alligators, etc......Yikes! I think I just turn around and find a different route!
Maggie, be sure and let us know about Reggie - keeping our fingers crossed all will be fine. Enjoy your show tonight!
Jeanette - that's so cute about Brock and the goat. I really don't care for those animals either so can see where he was coming from on that one! LOL!

How's everyone else doing.........Marilyn/Paige/Paola........

Anyone doing anything exciting for the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I was!

Lynn

Hi ladies. I just got back from the vet's office. I did go to work this morning and he called me about 9 to say that Reggie had carcinoma and there wasn't anything that could be done for her. We talked and I made the decision to go home and get her and take her in to have her put to sleep. There wasn't any choice in the matter. I did stay with her and they tranquilized her before doing the procedure.

I swear though on my way home, just as I got to my house I heard a distinctive cat's meow. I guess she was saying goodbye. Thanks for all your well wishes and thoughts and prayers for Reggie. It just wasn't meant to be that she'd get well.

Heart Hugs!!

Oh Maggie, my heart goes out to you. I have teary eyes just reading this again and your beautiful tribute. It's NEVER easy to loose a fur baby because in our hearts, they are just that - our babies. Be joyful in knowing you gave her a beautiful life and the time she was blessed to have you as "mommy" was a great joy to her. I'm so sorry for your news today and the loss but am confident she is scratching her post and enjoying her kitty cat nip in heaven. (((( 's ))))

Maggie, I'm so sorry to read this!! I know how much she meant to you and you're going to miss her so much. It's so hard to lose a pet and I've had lost my share - either having to have one put down due to illness and also in other ways. I always found that if I get another one fairly quick, it helps. You'll never be able to replace Reggie, but at least you can give that love you have to another one. My heart goes out to you! At least she is no longer suffering and that's one of the most important things.
Sending super cyber hugs.........Lynn

Dropping in before bed to say hi!

Maggie- so sorry to hear about Reggie. My sister just had to put down her dog : ( It has made my husband and I talk about what if anything ever happened to our dog. I grew up in the City, so the dog is an inside dog and 'part of the family' so to speak. Hubby grew up in the country, so the pet is not a human and if the vet ever told us a pet needed a very expensive surgery or something, I am afraid it would not happen. (sniffle....)...

Lynn- glas you are feeling better- well, good enough to get out and get on your computer : )

Maxine- good news- and fun to hear you got some new supplies : )

Kelley- sounds like a fun laid back weekend ( ? ) . So, have you ever been late cause there was a gater in the road? Kind of like when we get stopped by a freight train......hhehe

Jeanette- I would be afraid of a goat by a fence too- I guess each animal is different, and you never know which one may get aggressive- possible even because they are scared of you too!

We were going to go to a movie tonight- and it is no longer at our local theater, so we stayed home and watched a movie on Showtime....it is free this weekend. We watched Valkyrie...... it was about an attempted assassination of Hitler by German officers.......

I spent the afternoon crafting with ladies from my ATC group. I played in an altered book and used Dylusions sprays, and I also did a couple of backgrounds in an Art Journal. SO, I need to finish the pages, but had a blast. The ladies in my ATC group are all into different art- one was needle felting (which was interesting to see), one was weaving a rug for a doll house- she made her 'look' with foam core board....her group everyone makes a house, and they have swaps where this month we will do floor coverings, and you make something to go with the theme. The houses are made from plexiglass....they previously had a doll swap with a 4" doll and it turned out to be amazing! They are way out of my little papercrafting league with some of the things they can do! Mary was working on the rug- taught Art as a profession, so she is the master of many techniques : ) The hostess was also working on using Dylusions sprays. It was fun......

Not sure what we are doing for the rest of the weekend- we need to take Christmas lights down and pick up around the house. We may meet my sister for dinner- she lives 1 1/2 hours away though, and it is supposed to get icy out on the roads tomorrow, so we'll see......

I need to get 2 cards done before the 15th- one is embossed embossing- which I have never done, so that will be interesting- and I look forward to it.

Night!
Shelly

Maggie, I just read your blog and left sad, teary-eyed support there. You have my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your beloved Reggie. You made the right decision and I am sure it was a comfort to her that you were with her to the end.

Maxine, great news for you & DH!!!

Lynn, hope that you are finally on the mend. What a nasty illness this is.

Well my friends, the work week is finally over and I have my heart set on creating some cards and finishing a few that have sat 2 weeks waiting patiently for me.

Wishing all of you a restful and enjoyable weekend.

Peace!

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Maggie, I am so sorry. I am weeping with you. You gave the ultimate loving and sacrificial gift to Reggie yesterday, even though it tore you up to do so. Your love for her knew no bounds. Hugs!!!

Lynn and Shelly, the goat/Brock standoff really was too funny. Brock is BIG! over 6 foot tall and a hunk of a guy - but being autistic sometimes makes him seem more like a little child. He was standing there, just staring at that goat and had this no-way-am-I-going-there look on his face. He's also terrified of dogs - of any size. I've seen him SCREAM when he sees a teeny tiny pup. It's so funny. He tends to do a little better with cats than dogs. And he will feed a goat at the petting zoo at the apple orchard but I'm always there by his side encouraging him.

Good morning Stamp Addicts. Thank you all for your posts and well wishes, thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate all of them. I was so drained of energy last night that I went to bed at 8 and slept till 4 then went back to sleep until 6. It was weird because I woke up because my fan turned off. Couldn't figure out why and saw that my clock was off too. So some of my lights went out, but not all of them. They were only out for maybe 30 second and then came back on. Very strange.

I did try to work on a card last night. Thought that would keep my mind occupied which it did for awhile until I just got too tired. Hoping to get 2 cards done today. Still planning on going to dinner and show with my GF unless the weather gets really bad. We're supposed to have storms, but you never know if they'll be heavy where you are or not.

Maggie, that's strange about your lights/electricity. I am glad you were able to sleep though... and it's totally understandable why you were worn out.

I hope it works out for you and your GF to have your time together today!

Thank you Jeanette. I appreciate your kind words.

Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to what they think or feel. I'm glad he just stared at the goat and didn't go ballistic when he saw it there by the gate.

Thank you Shelly. I guess you just do what you have to do. When I was growing up we had inside/outside cats, but that was in a small town and you didn't worry about them like you do these days in a big city. I did have 2 incidents with outside cats here that lived in my garage and didn't turn out well. I'm really glad that my outside kitties now live in the back yard so they rarely, if ever, go in the front yard and stay away from the street.

That ATC group of yours sounds like a really fun, diverse group. Very interesting projects.

I think I should take down my little bit of Christmas today too. It'll probably take me all of 1/2 hour to get it down and packed up.

Thanks so much Lynn. No Reggie cannot be replaced. She was her own special cat. I don't have far to go for another kitty since I do also have 3 others that live here - Chancey, Paisley, and Maggie Mae. They have all been very sweet and supportive. Sometimes I really think they sense many things.

I am trying to decide whether to take in the two little twin boys that my GF is keeping for me. If I do keep them, I'll have to have them declawed to stay in the house and that's very expensive.

Thank you Kelly. Yes, I'm sure she is laying around soaking up the sunshine and playing with her friend Kitty Boy who passed on about 3 years ago. Kitty Boy loved everyone and I know they will have a good reunion.

Yes, it was strange.

Now off to get some breakfast and maybe get this Christmas stuff put away and then see what else I need to do before I get crafting.

Maggie, I'm sure the twins would be a joy and well worth the expense of declawing.

Yes, it wouldn't have been good for Brock to go ballistic when he saw the goat in "HIS" gateway. LOL!

Morning everyone!

Maggie, hope you guys don't have too bad of a weather system come though and you get to go be with your friend tonight.

We're suppose to get up to 77 today........couldn't decided what to wear - shorts, sweats, jeans, stay in pj's.......LOL! The reason for the big decision is that it's suppose to be like 55 at 6:00 this evening! Crazy Texas weather!

Got a "have to" card done this morning. I just hate being rushed on something like that as I don't feel I do my best. Oh, well...........

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Morning fellow Addicts!

Maggie, I hope that it worked out for you to go out with your GFs last night. It would have been good for you.

Jeanette: I wonder if Brock would be afraid of Bijou flying to his shoulder? I think he may not like that. But perhaps, if he saw Bijou cuddling up on us at night, being all still and calm, Brock may like that. Birds are like cats though. They have to decide whether or not they like a person. Once they decide, there's no changing their mind either. Bijou doesn't like our DD, other than to annoy her, LOL. But he loves our son, his GF, and DD's boyfriend. Strange!

Brrrr. . . it is cold down here again and is supposed to stay this way during the week.

It was somewhat rainy last night, but nothing that interfered with going out. I did enjoy going to dinner with my GF, and the performance was spectacular! My SIL did a great job with his part. I had no idea what the play was like and was so surprised at how funny it was. Now I want to get the DVD.

I did finally finish up 2 cards that I've been working on for a few days and have to get another one done today in between church and another meeting later this evening.

It was good to go out and enjoy the company of my GF and then those at the performance that I knew such as my DD and my DGC and also ran into a GF of my DD's that I knew way back in the day when her oldest was just a baby and my DD babysat for her. I haven't seen them in at least 15 years. She hasn't changed that much although that oldest is now 18 years old!

The performance was really spectacular. I had no idea that Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was so funny! I think I have to get the DVD of the movie now.

Good Morning to all!

I hope you are having a good weekend - Maggie, continued prayers for you, my friend.

It's been non-stop here and I'm finally back home to put in loads of waiting laundry and get the house spruced up! It was already clean but things get disorganized and out of their place so quickly, lol. Took my son to the circus yesterday - WOW, first time in 18 years! I'm NOT a fan. There will be a whole blog post on that on Tuesday But he has SO much fun, it was actually catchy

Hoping to actually read a book this afternoon - I'm behind in my reviews (read the books, just have to organize my thoughts!)

Hugs all around!

Hi Lynn and all - I have never yet seen you post a boring statement Lynn

Wet and quiet here, but I did get five cards made yesterday - some I was happy with, others not so...

Morning (or evening for Maxine?) Stamp Addicts!

Ugh, Lynn, I hate it when my posts just poof away. Arrrgh. And I quite agree with Maxine, yours are never boring!

What's everyone up to this week? We have our audit at work Weds-Thurs and a couple of other meetings/teleconferences. What ever happened to our slow January where we had a chance to ramp up for the busy Spring? Oh well, at least I have a job (I keep reminding myself) LOL

Waving to each of you!

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I didn't make it to the threads yesterday - other than a couple of them. We had an ice storm, spotty internet service, and a wild/crazy day. LOL! So I'm trying to read and catch up this morning.

Maggie, I'm so glad you were able to go to the performance. I knew you would like it. It really is a fun musical!

Darlene, you're probably right... I'm not sure how well Brock would like (dislike???) Bijou flying onto his shoulder. I'm sure Bijou would be startled should Brock decide to scream like he does sometimes when a dog startles/surprises him. If he knows it's there he doesn't usually scream, but if he comes upon a dog suddenly, he can sure let out a shrill scream. Of course then the dog barks, which only escalates the situation. LOL!
It is interesting that Bijou likes most of the family members but not your DD. Sad, in a way.

Hugs for all of you!!! I am glad to be part of this group!!!

Hi Kelly! You don't like the circus!!!! Wow! That's a surprise. I didn't think there was anyone who didn't like a circus. I haven't been in a long time but only because I have not young ones to take with me. I love all the glitz and glamour and the animals.

The weekend was okay, busy which is always good. I didn't sleep well last night though, only slept about 3 hours and even sitting up reading didn't help with putting me back to sleep, so I decided to stay home today. Hope I can get back in the swing of things.

I did have some time last night to work on a card and just have to put it together today. Need to work on a blog post for Teapot Tuesday which is already a week late.

LOL ! No reason to be sorry. We're all different with different likes and dislikes. That's what makes us each unique.

I'm going to try to get around to visit blogs today and see if I can get back on my regular weekly schedule.

Morning ladies!!!!

I thought I'd throw out a discussion of the week today (No, not about the circus either! LOL! Which, by the way, I must be a kid at heart because I still love it! LOL!)

DISCUSSION OF THE WEEK:

I think ALL of us wish we had more TIME! Since I'm retired I feel that I should have all the time in the world when I hear y'all talk about children, jobs, etc....but somehow I feel like I, too, never have enough of that good stuff called TIME - or maybe I just don't use it wisely.

So, how much time do you think you spend on crafting in a day/week/month..........? Do you ever think you spend too much time on this hobby and need to find other interests, or do you think you'd like to do it maybe just "full time"? How do you manage your time between your crafts/job/children/husband/day to day activities?

Lynn

Eeek, I'm sorry! Nope, I'm not a fan - LOL! I have a few sad moments thinking of the animals (caged, etc) but did learn a lot about their research and awareness to the endangered animals. Not to mention I do not like clowns! Ohhhh they give me the creeps! No offense to any clowns on board - personal or family wise, lol - but they just give me the heebie jeebies! Every since I was little But it made my son's entire year, I'm sure I wrote up a whole blog post, rofl - just haven't made the card to go with *g*

Be back later, ladies ......... card to make and book to review - I got sidetracked waiting at an appt and read one in my bag (one of my own from Barnes and Nobles) and forgot the review is due (actually, overdue - my bad!)

Hugs!
