GORGEOUS FLOWER, KELLY!!! I would have never guessed that it was hand made! Well, the pressure is really on me LOL to get my act together and make some flowers. But it will have to wait until after my Board meeting on the 6th. No life until then.

Just checking in around here!

Darlene, maybe after your board meeting you'll get a little "me" time!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a naked tree Kelly! I've tried those rolled flowers before too and mine just are awful and go into the trash! The ric rac one I did was passable but that's about all you can say for it.

Oh..........Day 3 Operation Ho, Ho, Ho..............I got one half of the lights on the Christmas tree today! Yeah! This is really turning into an ordeal!

Those rolled roses are really hard. It took me a couple tries before I was able to get mine done.

Good morning Stamp Addicts!

Kelly, you're up early.

I was awake at 4 a.m. thanks to my little Maggie Mae. She decided she wanted to come in and sleep with me and Chancey. The door wasn't latched very well, so she was able to open the door and came and jumped on my bed. Of course then I had to get up to make sure the other 2 kitties didn't come in and sure enough they were both just following along. Had to shoo them out and close the door and by that time I couldn't go back to sleep.

I have a dr. appt. with an allergist this afternoon so a short work day.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Maggie, I'm sorry, I should have invited Miss Maggie Mae to come snuggle with me, since I was awake at that time anyway. Hmmmmmmmmmm.... I went to bed at 12:30; finally drifted off to sleep about an hour later, only to be awakened multiple times by the freight train in my room. Finally decided to give up and crawled out of bed at 5:45; I'd not been back to sleep even for a cat nap since 4:45. Sure hope the coffee does its job today.

Did you have the die? We cut ours by hand! So not cool! LOL! The end result was stunning (hers!) I will try to get a page done with it but it's so HUGE - like a good 3/4" tall from the side that it won't work well with a scrapbook page - maybe I can use it in the project I'm planning to surprise her with for the holidays

OH Ladies, I'm super excited about a project I have coming up!! I'm from the school of "handmade is wonderful" and MUCH PREFER something made of macaroni and pinecones over store bought ANY DAY! So I'm, in turn, making each of my kids a gift this holiday and have to get stepping! I'm shocked at the prices of Michaels lately and even with the 50% off coupon (and only ONE per trip at that), it still comes out so pricey!

Okay, I'm done ranting, lol! Sorry!!

Sorry!!
No problem with the venting.

I did have the die and I have a few more that I want to try out. I actually bought a Cricut cartridge yesterday that has all kinds of flowers and leaf cuts on it. Can't wait to get that one.

Good luck on your projects. I'm in the middle of a project for my DD's also. One is done, but not the other. I really need some time to finish that up.

You ladies sure were up early this morning!!! Maggie, I think your little kitties would have had a hard time fitting in bed with Rambo up there already! And Jeanette.....you and Maggie should have gotten together this morning for sure!

Kelly, I can't wait to see what you're making for the kids! I know that whatever it is, it's wonderful!

Darlene - That's funny about how you said - how did it get to be Thursday? I kept thinking it was Wednesday all day long!!

Operation Ho, Ho, Ho...........Day 4 - Zip, Nothing, Nada!!!!! We had something come up and had to run into the city and that took all day long........maybe tomorrow. I figure it's going to be Easter before I get all this done! LOL!

ROFL Lynn!! We have Operation Nekkid Tree in our house!! And I'm literally basking in the joy of the glorious pine smell and feel SOO bad it's still nekkid!! It's been up for 5 days!! I promised tomorrow that the girls could put up the lights while I'm out and then we'll decorate it together when I get home

I think you'll have it done before Easter .... though Easter trees ARE pretty cute!!

LOL! Love the Operation Nekkid Tree Kelly!!!!! I'm really hoping to get finished with the lights on mine today. Wish me luck.

Kinda wanted to let y'all know what was going on around here...........

Indah never has e-mailed me back (after sending her several) so I assume she doesn't want to be in the group anymore.

Paola hasn't been by in a LONG time! I did recently PM her though and she does still want in the group but hasn't gotten over here yet.....so y'all may want to help me nudge her along on that one! LOL!

And I'll start off by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAOLA!!!!! Today is her birthday!!!!!!!!! Yeah! P, if you see this, hope you have a wonderful day!!

Lynn, Sweet P (Paola) and her DH have both had some health things going on. It's been pretty rough, I think.... so that's probably why she hasn't been here.

I'll take Indah off my list on my blog.

Thank you!

Today we will begin the Christmas transformation at our house... about 2-3 weeks later than usual. What a year!

Hi Everyone!
I'm home for a few days and then will head back to DD's middle of next week for more snuggling and "helping" out. We plan on making some freezer meals, so at least getting dinner made some nights won't be so overwhelming for her.

Since we won't have Christmas at our house this year (sob!), I'll probably just put up a tree and my gingerbread village. i hope to do that this weekend.

I haven't posted anything forever on my blog, but do have some gift card holders to make, so hopefully will get those done and posted.

It seems so weird not to have any snow on the ground here in MN yet. But we have had plenty of cold days and nights, although our temps are going to get up in the 50's this weekend!

Jeanette, I had no idea about Paola!!! I'll keep her and her husband in my prayers. Keep us posted if you can.

Paige, snuggling is always so good!! LOL! Know you're having the time of your life with this little one and glad everyone is doing good.

Jeanette, hope it doesn't take you as long to decorate all your house like it's taking Kelly and I to do one tree!!! Yikes! How many trees do y'all put up anyway!

I will let you know if/when I hear more about Paola.

ummmmmmmm.... we had 27 trees last year, if I remember correctly. The most I've ever had in a year is 43. But the house we now live in (last year and this year) is half the size of the house that had 43 trees........ so 27 was a max. I suspect we'll have between 20 and 25 this year. I hope to have them all up within a week. Oh....... and I also suspend over 100 Hallmark ornaments from the ceiling in our hallway... and I have a huge village that has been gifted to me by our oldest DS, a building each year since he was in 1st or 2nd grade. And I have nativity sets, too. Can you tell I love Christmas?!?!?

Now if I could just get my DH to get the boxes out of storage for me. I can't start until he does - they are stacked too high for me to reach. EEK! He left about 2 hours ago to run an errand before starting.

Jeanette.........WHOA!!!!!!!! Now that's A LOT of trees!!!! You make me ashamed of myself in trying to get the energy to get the lights on ONE tree!!!!! You MUST post pictures of them after you finish too - I'd love to see them and know that each and every one will be so special!

Hang in there Kelly.........get those lights up today!!! I'm working on mine. If Jeanette can handle all those trees, surely we can handle just one!!

I think you'll have it done before Easter .... though Easter trees ARE pretty cute!!
I'm thinking of buying a Pre-lit one this year to put away for next year. I just can't deal with putting on all those lights.

Easter eggs would look pretty hanging on the tree.

Lynn
Thanks for letting us know. I guess left gets complicated for some and don't have the time or desire to keep up with the group or their blog. I know that I try to get around to everyone's blogs once a week and there are a few that haven't been updated in some time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAOLA! We miss you! Come back!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!

Today we will begin the Christmas transformation at our house... about 2-3 weeks later than usual. What a year!
Sorry to hear that they have health issues to deal with. Sending up prayers for them.

Good luck with the tree transformation. Wanna see a photo of it as well as everyone else's trees.

Hi Paige! It's great that you can spend so much time at your DD's and helping her out. I remember when my oldest DD first moved away from home, she would call me up and ask me what kind of meat to buy for whatever she was trying to cook. She NEVER spent any time in the kitchen when I was cooking so she didn't know squat! Now, she's a great cook and she and her DH cook meals together sometimes or he does or she does.

Be thankful for no snow!

ummmmmmmm.... we had 27 trees last year, if I remember correctly.

Wow! That is a lot of trees. Where do you put them all???? How big is your house??? Must be a mansion size.

Your village and nativities sound fabulous. You know you're going to have to post photos when you get it done.

Good luck with Operaiton Nekkid Tree! Go Kelly!

Good luck to your DD13 in the Nutcracker performance. I wish I could be at my DGD's but the timing is all wrong this year. At least I'll see and hear her in her choir performance - just 3 WEEKS!

Update...............

Operation Ho, Ho, Ho......Day 5.................. I have all the lights on the tree (800 of those little babies) and right now they all work!!!!! I also got some of the rest of the house decorated...........AND tomorrow will be spent decorating the tree! Jeanette, you inspired me!!!! Oh, Kelly, you're next!
I did the lights a little different this year. I'd read on Pinterest to run the lights up from the trunk to the top, back down, etc.....I did it and it was so much easier! I'm hoping it'll be easy to take down too. I've always just gone around and around the tree - and usually got dizzy! LOL!

Maggie, I was thinking about getting one of the pre-lit ones but just really like the tree I've already go. It's 6 foot and I think it's as old as I am! Let me know how you like the pre-lit one if you get it.

Maxine, how's the house painting going?

Kelly, sounds like you have a busy weekend coming up - know your daughter will do wonderful!

Lynn
Later..............Lynn

Woo Hoo!!! Lynn, your decorating has gone well today, it seems. Mine, too. The outside porch/fence etc is finished. Brock's room is finished. 4 trees standing! YAY!

Maggie, actually our house is kind of small... I'm just crazy! We live in a parsonage. This one (we've been here almost 1 1/2 years) is less than half the size of the last one. It is a 3 bedroom house, but the rooms are small. The living room and kitchen are big enough... but the bedrooms are small. There are no extra rooms - no dining room or family room for instance. And no basement. We get kind of "full" when the forest is in place. LOL! I put up a lot less trees in this house... but so many of them are just too special not to put up. Here are a few of them:

MBR - we have a tree with only ornaments that were made in 1983, the year that my DH and I were married. We also have the very first tree we purchased (in 1983) in that room.

Extra Bedroom - includes a tree that has only Hallmark ornaments that I've purchased at yard sales.

Living Room - three very special trees: 1.) The main tree (7 foot tall and full of unique ornaments. It rotates on its stand). 2.) The international tree with only ornaments from other countries. 3.) Vacation tree with ornaments we purchased on vacations. The village also goes in the living room and it takes up a lot of space!

Foyer - has a tree with clock ornaments on it. They were given to us by one of our parishioners years ago. Her husband worked on clocks so she gave him a clock ornament every year. He'd been deceased for quite some time and she was elderly. She wanted someone who would appreciate the collection to have it, so she gave it to me.

Kitchen - A tree with Coca Cola ornaments (in honor of my grandfather who was a house painter by trade, but drove a Coca Cola truck during the depression to support his family). There's also a tree with McDonald's ornaments in the kitchen.

Brock's room has a talking tree (yep!) - he calls it Oscar Tree (as in Oscar the Grouch). He also puts the ornaments on his 6 foot tree all by himself... and under that tree is the little yellow taxi that he stood behind to learn to walk and sitting on it is the Kermit the Frog he purchased at Disney World when he was a youngster.

There's also a tree that has ornaments on it that my DD has made for me. Since she was in early elementary, every year she makes me an ornament for Christmas.

Seeeee... there are so many memories in these trees. I simply MUST display them!!!

Hi folks - I am still alive currently in Akld and enjoying the grandbabies - lots of cuddles and kisses . Home again on Monday morning.
The painting has been going quite well - 2/3 of the main project done (the studio), and then the base boards of the house to be done - that has been the project I have been putting off for ages, but can't any more .....

Good morning Stamp Addicts!

Wow! I have a 3 bedroom house too Jeanette and I have a large computer/family room, but still I would not have room to put that many trees up. They all sound perfectly wonderful though! It's so nice that they are all so special to all of you.

Maxine, hi, sounds like you have been very busily working on that painting project. Enjoy the snuggles time with the grands.

I started on my cleaning last night by taking time to pick up and put things away. I'm trying to declutter so I can have a housekeeper come clean my house. I don't want her to have to move a lot of stuff to clean and dust, so everything has to find a place.
