Shelly: good to know about that eraser! I have one and use it to remove smudges when I color with chalks. It works great. Never thought to try it to remove excess adhesive though. Will definitely give that a try.

All: I second Jeanette's endorsement of the Tape Depot. Thanks to her I tried a roll of their tape (she gifted one to me, so sweet of you, Jeanette!) and I liked it better than the 3M tape. I ordered as small an order as I could get and when that runs out will likely buy in bulk so I don't have to bother with it for a long time.

Here's a different take on how I save money:
I don't go out to eat very often now (maybe 4-5 times a year)
I hate buying clothes and wear my clothes a long time
I only have 3 pair of earrings & 3 necklaces, 2 bracelets and 1 watch
I just don't wear shoes out so I can wear a pair of shoes for 3-4 years
I only have 2 purses and 1 wallet
I don't wear makeup

...see where I'm going with this? I save so much $$ on those items that I can indulge one little hobby...hehehehe. ok, so it's rationalizing. But it makes me feel better!

Oh yeah, I only buy ribbon when it's on sale, you know, 3 spools for $1, etc. Never buy the fancy ribbon from specialty card making/scrapping places unless it also is marked down.

Oh-just thought of another way. I like SU's stamp cleaner, but I make it last a long time this way: I have a little glass bowl that always holds a cheapo wash cloth (the kind from Target or Wally World that's white & comes in a bundle of 10-12, you know, they are really thin and good for rags but not much else)

Well, I keep one of those moistened with water when stamping. All my stamps get wiped first with that rag, then they go onto the cleaning pads for proper scrubbing when I'm finished. It sounds crazy but especially when embossing and using Versa Mark pad and ink, it keeps the cleaning pad much cleaner and I use much less cleaning fluid that way.

I have read online here how to make your own version of SU cleaning solution. But honestly, it sounded like some work and I would have to buy those ingredients any way so I never took the time or trouble to do it.
40 lbs of chicken is a lot of chicken - that's about 40 pieces. Yes, it would never work unless you had a separate freezer and not just the one with your refrigerator.

What kind of tape did you try from the Tape Depot? Was it the ATG kind? I seem to have problems all the time with my ATG. The tape breaks and then I can't use it in the gun anymore. It gets very frustrated. I always go back to the Scotch double sided.

Good morning fellow addicts!! Wishing everyone peace on this Blessed Day!

Maggie: the tape is:
Reverse Wound Transfer ATG-7502 SKU: 56720PAH012
I ordered a 12 roll sub-pack for $23.40, S&H was $5.95. Now that I know I ordered the right one, I'll place a larger order next time.

I will mail you a roll to try it out first. It can break easily, but I have that problem with the kind in the store as well. But I like the adhesive on this better than the ones in the store around here.

Jeanette: is this the kind that you order? Maybe there's another one at Tape Depot.

That marker certainly looks great. I wonder if it works well. Let us know if you get one & what you think of it.

Good morning Stamp Addicts!

Darlene, you are so sweet! Thank you. I'm always looking for the best tape to use on my cards. I used to buy the Tombow snail runners in bulk, but would always go back to the Scotch double sided.

I did pre-order the glitter markers. I hope that they are worth it. Zig products are usually pretty good.

I'm off work today for the holiday.

When I got home last night, I was bushed, so didn't get anything done. I had some friends over just to visit for a short time and got my fence fixed. Then went into my bed to finish reading my book and dozed off for about an hour. When I woke up about 9 I came out and turned off all the lights, fed the kitties and went back to bed and finished the book. Then turned out the lights. Slept til 6:30 this morning so that was good.

No real plans today except I need to go to the grocery store, work on my PSC card, and maybe some housecleaning.

Tomorrow morning I'm getting my hair done and then in the afternoon meeting friends for dinner and going to see Jersey Boys.

Sunday is church with my DD and her family. My DGD and SIL are singing during their service. Then going to my sis's for Easter dinner and Easter bunny.

Oh, and yesterday my DD bought us tickets to go see Wicked in July! They were pre-sale so we got pretty good seats. And she bought mine for my Mother's Day present. Wasn't that so sweet!

Darlene, that is the adhesive I use, too. Hmmm.... I've never had it break, as you and Maggie say. Sometimes it coils around the wrong spindle and I have to fix that... but that's VERY rare. I do like it better than the Scotch brand plus it's cheaper, but I know some here on SCS have tried and and don't like it. So I recommend trying a roll before buy much. That was nice of you to offer to send Maggie a roll!

Maggie, how fun! A few years ago, my DD got me a ticket to Wicked for my birthday and she and I went. WOW!!! Loved it!!!

Default Hello

Dropping in to say hello- I am on my stretch of working...and after work tomorrow, we are heading to Michigan to spend the night, and will go to church and have brunch with Stephi- it is a little shy of 4 hours each way- but I am looking forward to it.
I hope we will be back at a decent time so I can comment on Sunday PM. I hope everyone has a Blessed Easter!

Kelly- I hope you had a fabulous Birthday and that your family spoiled you for the day!!!

Darlene- great $$$ saving ideas! I will have to give that tape a go too...I am always looking for a different adhesive- I always go back to the scotch double sided tape......

Lynn- I use post-it Notes on my dies- my SU demo does that and I have a pile of old (black) post it notes from when my kids were little and into gel pens.......

Maggie- lucky you! We loved Jersey Boys- and Wicked was awesome! How fun is that!

Jeanette- Oh that has to be painful to get up in the middle of the night...my kids- well, mostly the girls- have trouble sleeping- they take Melatonin. I have issues on/off- but lately I am OK.

Maxine- your last post reminded me I have some cardstock I bought when a printer went out of business- really reasonably too...I made a few Easter cards- so used it- it is a yellow gold color and it is textured, so looks better in IRL than in photo's. We finally went and purchased a new printer, so I printed out some digi's and had fun coloring- made CAS Easter cards : ) and got them mailed to family members- a few of them. I also have 2 Aunts with birthdays- one is 88 and one is 92!

OK- off top bed- long day around the bend tomorrow : )

Shelly

Good morning Stamp Addicts!

I'm off to get my hair done this morning. The show today is at 2, so I have to be back to get dressed and ready by 12:30. We're planning to go to dinner after the show so I probably won't be home til early evening.

Gonna try to get around this morning to visit blogs.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Shelly, I hope you have a marvelous trip and visit with Steph!

Maggie, enjoy the show and dinner. You will look gorgeous!

I think Brock and I might go to the small city near us with DH today - he needs to make a hospital visit. I haven't been out of our teeny tiny town in over two weeks. It would be good to get out of town for a bit.

Darlene for a moment I thought your DH was visiting the hospital an appointment for himself, then realised it would be to visit someone!!

Happy Resurrection Sunday to you all - ours is nearly over.

Didn't make it to church as the prednisone gave DH a bad night, and then we slept in.... (He had to go back on meds on Friday)

We had a lovely day with family on a picnic on Saturday, but the rest of the weekend has been quiet. I did get two cards made today though

Good morning Stamp Addicts.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Started off at church with my DD and her family for a change. My DGD and SIL were singing a duet at their service and I wanted to be there. I only stayed til after Sunday School and then came home to get my food together to take to my sis's house for our Easter get together. She had 32 people at her house yesterday! We had a visit from the Easter Bunny (thanks to my DGD for dressing up). There are photos on FB. There was a ton of food. We had an Easter egg hunt and the kids really like that because there's usually $$ in those eggs. It started to get really cloudy and we got some rain. I headed home about 4:30 and good that I did. I had to finish up my PSC card and after I got it done, I realized that I had done the one for next week, so I quick had to put a card together for this week. But I really like how it turned out so maybe it wasn't such a bad thing.

Checking in again. I have a few minutes between washing clothes and everything else. I'll try to read all the previous posts by tomorrow - let me know if I've missed something important though!

Had a good time at my daughters. Got to be with the granddaughters for several days and that's always a plus. They sure are growing up fast. The oldest (Lily) is 12 (going on 20) and the youngest (Sadie) is 6 (going on 16)!!!! Oh and Shelly, you'll love this.....next year Lily will be taking Chinese as an elective in school!!!! Sadie recently started taking violin lessons and of course she had to play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and a couple of other tunes for me! LOL! What a cutie.

We DID get a ton of shopping done! BUT, no craft stores were even on our lists! Sigh!!! I ended up with several pairs of shoes though. It's so hard for me to find shoes that fit (I wear a 4 1/2) but got a couple pairs of Toms (children's size) and one pair of nice sandals. Also grabbed a purse and misc. items. AND, got an iPad Mini!!! Yikes!!!! This has really been a hard decision for me - couldn't decide between the iPad or the Kindle Fire. We'll see if I can ever learn how to operate this now though. LOL! I told my daughter I spent ALL my "craft money" for the next 6 months with this little trip!!

Off to figure out what to cook tonight and then I think the Spurs are playing again. I haven't made a card in so long I don't know if I remember how!!!

What a fabulous trip you had Lynn! Score on all your goodies! Sorry about no craft stores to visit.

Good luck with your iPad Mini. I'm sure you'll be able to figure it all out.

Hee hee, Lynn you crack me up! We have craft money? I must have missed that line, hee hee! reminds me of that funny sentiment "I spent most of my money on crafts. And the rest I just wasted." LOL!!

I found something new today while making a card for tomorrow's Riley challenge - use the extra rubber!! Yes, ma'ams! I took all the small red rubber pieces after trimming the Riley and added the to the back of my image - yep, you guessed it, in lieu of 3d dots I rarely have those in the house anyway and often use scraps of thick dsp (like PTI, great for giving height to cards!).

ALSO, I saw on a website a few weeks ago and forgot to post - a lady had such a great idea! You know those SAME rubber pieces you get off untrimmed stamps? Collect them. Mount them TOGETHER. and create a unique, one-of-a-kind background stamp! In other words, all those little tiny pieces, either try to shape them or let them fall where they may onto your stamping block, ink them up and you have a new stamp!! Isn't that so creative! So many years of tossing those in the trash - eeek!!

We can learn a lot being thrifty!!!

Hugs all - I went to bed at 2:30 last night, was up at 6, and look- it's after midnight again. I'm BEAT!

Good morning Stamp Addicts!

I worked some in my craft room last night. I had a bunch of packages of flowers that had not gotten put away. They were all just tossed in a large cardboard box. Got those put away in boxes and then rearranged my craft closet. Started working on a card from pieces sent in our current Monthly Challenge envelope. It's a tough one because she stamped the flower images on gold and dark orange colored paper. Trying to figure out what to do with them.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Oh my, Maggie... i wouldn't know what to do with flowers stamped on colored paper either. The only thing that comes to my mind is to fussy cut them out and use them that way.

Kelly, a long time ago I saw where someone had made a mosaic type of "stamp" with the leftover rubber scraps and it was gorgeous!

Lynn, sounds like you had a fabulous time! I'm so glad. Oh, I would love to have an ipad or ipad mini... not in the budget. When I got back from Thailand last year, I told myself I would have an ipad before my next mission trip. LOL! That's not happening.

I did do that. I was going to play around with a scrap and see if I could use my Copics to do some shading on one of the flowers. I also purchased a few new 6 x 6 stamp pads that have some papers that will go with it. I really didn't like the dp that she sent, but I'll probably use a piece of it on one of the cards.

I may do a scrap blog hop this week too if I can get a card made. Maybe I'll use these pieces to create something for that.

I'd love to have an iPad myself, but don't want to spend that much money on it.

LOL! I think NOT! I have so much more to do in my room. I'm thinking ahead to when I have to move everything to install the windows. I bet a ton of stuff gets tossed. I have a bunch of Scraping magazines that I'll probably get rid of plus other things under my tables that I have no idea what they are. I want to get some of the big plastic tubs to put other things in and label them so I'll know what is there.

Now that I'm only on one DT, I have time to do some of the other stuff that really needs to be done, plus play in some of the challenges that I used to like to do, plus I need to work on some cards that I can submit for publications.

Kelly - I think it was something about knowing you were loved because you were worn out??

I ended up at the dentist yesterday - the tooth that was treated was a surprise as it was next to the one I thought was causing problems, and the decay was behind a filling so had not been picked up 4 months ago. The dentist warned me that I may loose it as the filling was massive and she was pushing the boundaries in trying. Thankfully she succeeded!

Glad to hear you girls all had a good Easter

Oh Maxine, I'm shuddering! I DO NOT like dentists! I have such an intense fear everytime I have to go in. I 'm sorry they didn't catch it in the 4 mos And you're right - at least it was fixed - woohoo! Thx for the insight on the quote! That's SO VERY sweet

Maggie - aw shucks, here I was relaxing and having a glass of ice tea thinking you were on your way! I did get my ENTIRE house picked up again - luckily, it was clean, just kids stuff tossed about and put back and the doggie hairs up off the floor! I cannot believe two small dogs cause as much shedding as they do and how much work I am doing to keep it off anything but the floor! LIke for real! I can't imagine a HUGE dog!! We had one, but she was mostly outside and short haired at that, so the time she was in, we didn't know. She shed like never

My kids/dh gave me an iPad last Christmas and it's well loved! Just recently I cancelled the service to keep it running becuase it was so costly and we all have phones that work outside the house. I would take the iPad for directions when traveling (their map system is amazing!) and the kids, of course, would play oodles of gamses on it. It was great for doing SCS out of the house, like at their schools, but it was turning out to be a bit pricey! Oh, and my dd would take it to school for reading ebooks - yes, it turned out to be the family toy! LOL!

Okay, enough babbling ........... I have a question!! So I'll post it next so it doesn't get jumbled in with my nonsense!

Not sure if this counts as DOTW but I do have a question for you crafters!

Where/How do you store your completed cards?

I need a better system! Other than the ones I mail to their recepients, some of them I post to give at a later date or complete as a DT required card. I have some in a large scrapbook album with sheer sleeves and slide them in, but it's bursting at the seems and too large. I have a few others in 2 large photo boxes with dividers, again, it's overstuffed. I just mailed off a TON of cards from old swaps and ones I've made/collected but there are still a bunch left. Whoda thunk we make as much as we do

I'm curious as to how you all store your cards so you can teach me!

Um - I have a few lying flat in a box, but overall I either sell (as in I make then for existing orders) or send mine to the people I make them for - in fact some of my DT work was done with recipients in mind!!

I hate going to the dentist too. Glad that they were able to fix your problem even though they missed it before.

I've decided that I really need to go every 6 months to keep up with whatever is going on.

Well, now that you're done picking up YOUR house, you can head up here and do mine! LOL!

That's why I just love my Kindle Fire. I can do all those things on it and it doesn't have a data plan so I don't have to pay to use it. I can access the Internet and get all the books I want on it. I take it to church with me and can access my scriptures on it too.
