Hello and g'evening everyone...
We had a SNOWY surprise here this morning...quite the shock, actually,
especially since the day before was a great warm, sunnny day...I was ALMOST ready
for flip flops! lol....Crazy weather....Mother Nature is sure teasing us....
No snow remnants whatsoever now...wonder what tomorrow will bring....

re:bulky cards...mmm...now I get to wonder...lol...Kelly did any of my swap cards arrive to U torn? I really would like to know now....I'm specifically referring to this card:
That's Amore!

Admittedly, I use simple envelopes, no bubbles....it makes a BIG difference at our PO....cost can go up as double the amount if I were to use bubble envies...
So far, no hostess told me of any major tear or breakage, I do try to be very careful in my packaging....I strongly feel that IF that was to happen, it won't matter what kind of envie U use....I had bubble envies arriving to me ripped on one side too, even as recent as last week....luckily the contents was still inside ...but barely. I believe it mainly depends HOW the pkgs are handled via their postal travel...
Personally, I would also wish to know if any of my cards were to arrive torn or damaged....for me, knowing is better than wondering...)
I also sent bulky card(s) as far as Italy w/ no damages or concerns...thankfully!)

Shelly, I too would love to know your pull pork/beer recipe please...
Lynn, congrat on your great new 'toy' ...;o)
Maggie...yeah for another card profit!!! I won;t know where/how to start really...I had several people asking me ,especially at work....but I am still undecided to pursue that venue....but who knows??)

well....it's *Survivors* time...hubby is whipping up a cappuccino for yours truly....and I am ready for a totally relaxing evening with my guy....
G'Night everyoneeee!!♥ God Bless!♥

Hi - me again Maori is spoken here, but mainly among themselves. It is an 'official' language, and one Member of Parliament has used it in the House, and so an interpreter has been needed - it can also be used in the courts, mainly by self proclaimed radicals trying to make a point.
The language is having a renaissance and there are now Maori language immersion schools where only Maori is spoken, and there is some taught in the mainstream schools. I do not speak much at all - mainly only greetings and the odd other phase.

I got my blood test results today and nothing is apparently amiss. No scans as the GP felt nothing would show, and also I would need to go through a specialist and then pay for it myself, so I am not pursuing that option!! So I will pace myself for a while and see what happens . Have got three cards made in the last three days .

Good morning Stamp Addicts!

Maxine, glad to hear that the blood work is okay. I hope that there isn't anything else going on. I'd say to cut down on the intake of sodium.

Weigh in day today. Weather is terrible here. We're getting rain and not the snow that people North are getting.

Maxine, YAY for great results! God is good!

Hi Maggie! I'll take some of your snow!

Rushing through, forgive me -- my house is a disaster and that's just not acceptable, lol! I have a few minutes free and after the dogs stop pestering me for a walk, it's clean up time!

Shelly, I'm SOOOO excited that I inked up the stamp set that I won from you - it's heavenly!! I have a card on an upcoming blog post that I'll be sure to give you a heads up - it made my heart SMILE huge Thank you again, my friend!

Hugs!

Good luck on cleaning up. My house is a disaster.

Maggie I have a pretty low sodium diet as it is - don't cook with salt, or minimal salt if I do. Have just heard that two to three cups of coffee a day can extend life - I am right on track for that!!

Hello friends!
Maxine: so glad to hear that your tests all turned out good! Just take it easy though, like they told you! Relax, have some fun, don't stress, ok??

Yep, we call it Wally World too. Lynn, you label making fool you! LOL, come make labels for me at my house, ok? Actually just make about 20 labels that say JUNK so that I can label all of Hubby's treasures The man is allergic to throwing things away...clothes he cant possibly fit and hasn't worn for 20 years, 30+ yo textbooks from college, there's the computer graveyard in the cellar...oh the list goes on.

Jeanette: too bad you are not excited about going to Thailand again So happy for you!

GUESS WHAT???!!! I ordered myself a new paper cutter!!!!! After much research and hemming & hawing...I settled on the Cutterpillar Pro. I can hardly wait for it to arrive. (I hope that the link here works so you can check it out)

I read and watched You Tubes about the Dahle and others. Eventually settling on this one. Hmmmm, how will people know the card is from me if I start cutting straight after all these years??? hahahahahaha

Maxine, so glad those blood tests turned out ok! Take it easy and try not to stress about anything. If you don't feel right though......get to that specialist - money or not! You're too important to too many people to mess around with your health!

Darlene, can't wait to see how you like your paper cutter - be SURE and let us know!

Jeanette - hope you have a good trip. When are you going this year?

Kelly and Maggie - hey, I look at house cleaning like this......it's still going to be there tomorrow! LOL!

P, snow sounds like fun!! But I'm like Maggie and pretty glad it's not snowing here right now. We've actually got gorgeous weather - 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky!

Got back from my eye appointment.........I'm not even going to go into how bad a day this turned out for me except to say, my vehicle is now at the mechanic and am hoping it doesn't cost an arm and leg to have repaired! Oh, and not only that - got all the way to the city (1 1/2 hours) for my appointment and due to a computer problem (yeah RIGHT!!!!) there was no one there!!!!!!!!!! Called and they said they were sorry and could I come in tomorrow morning.......NOT! Hope the rest of my day goes better now!

Lynn

That's good that you don't use a lot of salt. That can cause HBP. Yikes! that's a lot of coffee, but then again, I don't drink coffee at all. Yes, sometimes they say it's okay and then sometimes they say no. I actually have a reaction to caffeine, so I don't drink coffee or tea.

Default Hello

Hello all,
We celebrated 26 years today- we went out to dinner and decided to go to the High School girls B-ball Sectional game. Our team came back from behind and won- very exciting! I had Trout for dinner- hubby had Pot roast sandwich...... and I had a couple of beers- I was ready to tap dance out of there..... : )

Lynn- Oh My- I would not be the happiest camper if I drove 1 1/2 hours and the office was closed....... dang!

Maxine- wonderful that your tests were good! One very common cause of TIA's and strokes is called a PFO- which is a really small hole in the heart between the heart chambers. I work at a neuro center, and the first thing they do when we have a patient having symptoms of a TIA or stroke is a CT of the brain, then they do an echocardiogram to check for a PFO........ I am glad you are OK, but if you do have any more symptoms- PLEASE ask the doc to run a test! (The nurse in me- then the mother...then the friend : )

Lynn- I would be crazy with a label gadget- I think it would be a riot to label everything. Alot of my trinkets like pearls, charms, buttons etc...I have in SU clam shell boxes, then I stack them with sticky labels on the end- so I can open up the cabinet door and have everything neatly organized.

You have to be careful limiting sodium- if you do not have a B/P or fluid retention issue, you can actually flush out too much sodium and potassium if you only drink water or severely limit your intake.....moderation is the key!

I can have one tea bad a day, then I drink decaf- I get palpitations if I have more- does that happen to anyone else? I have to be careful in the summertime with iced tea- yummy! Katie tells me in China, you cannot get any decaf tea.....wow!

WOW Jeanette- will you return to the same place in Thailand? Didn't you go there last year? Sounds awesome.

Darlene- can't wait to hear how you like your cutter. I ended up getting the new SU paper cutter- so far, so good! It is so much better than my old cutter- really!

P-we are supposed to get snow here tonight- I like snow- it is so pretty! And, the farmers need moisture for the crops in Northern Illinois- we were in drought this past year.

We call Walmart Wally World too. I do not get there too often- it is not the huge one with food- we head to Target first- it has everything! It is just what is closest to us.

The Pork Roast was really easy- put Pork Roast in the crock Pot with a can of Root beer. (we do not drink soda- but happened to have one can of Root beer in the fridge). Cook on high for 6 hours. Add 18 oz of BBQ sauce of your choice- I use Sweet Baby Ray's- serve once the sauce is warm. I shredded the pork before I added the BBQ sauce- and it is so much better later on- I had some today- YUMMY!

We are heading to Ky to visit my parents- they live just west of Cincinnati. Mom sounds just exhausted! It takes some of the pressure off her to help out, Dad has to be driven around and she does all of the stuff around the house cause he cannot see well. So sad- he can be crabby, and it is so much better when Ray is there- they talk sports...! My Mom is an artist too, so I will bring some images and Copics and we can color : )

Shelly

Thanks Shelly - my BP is great - so good the Dr commented on it - and I do use salt at the table - I cut it out of cooking as DH is so heavy handed with it!
Thanks also for the comments about requesting an echocardiogram. Hopefully I will never need to, but the mind was playing tricks with me last night, being the week afterwards!
Another 2 cards made this afternoon, and then the neighbour came over and asked for three to be made - so between my regulars (total of 12 cards), the cards I need for next month (eight), and the neighbour I will be busy for the next few days........... such a hard task

Good morning Stamp Addicts! Ugh I was having computer issues last night. It was running so slow. I had a long post all ready to post and it froze up, so I just closed it all down and went and colored an image.

How fun! Enjoy your new toy. I don't think I ever said that I bit the bullet and bought a Dahle! So far I love it too. I really think with this one, I have more than enough cutters. Two of the ones I have are those large flat ones, and I really wanted a new personal one that I could take with me if I ever needed to.

Sorry about the auto problems.

Ooops. Do they know how to use the phone to call you and let you know they were not going to be there? I would have been a bit annoyed about that especially since you have to drive so far to get there.

That happens to me if I have too much caffeine.

Happy Anniversary a day late! Glad you were able to get out and have a nice meal together.

Have fun at your parents. It's great that you'll be able to east your mom's day for a little while anyway. I can understand having to do everything at the house yourself, but it would be so much more if I had someone else I had to take care of too.

Glad you were able to get some crafting done. I have so much to get done this weekend.

Not sure if I told you guys that the little twin boy kitties are coming home to my house tomorrow - Casper and Corey. My GF that I wanted to take them - turned out her DH is allergic to them. I have been thinking that Maggie Mae needs a playmate and they'll be just the right size for her. I'm going to keep them in a cage for a few days so they all get used to each other being here and hopefully they'll all get along. If not, there is a no-kill shelter here in H Town and I'll see about getting them placed there.

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

I didn't make it back here at all yesterday - unusual for me! - since we had the winter storm and no internet to go with it. UGH!

So happy to read the posts this morning though!

Happy Anniversary a day late, Shelly!

Maxine, so glad you got a good health report. Oh, and about the salt...... I don't cook with it either, because I've discovered I like my salt on top of my food and DH has high blood pressure so he shouldn't have much salt. It's a win/win. I have perfect BP, so I don't worryy too much about adding it to my food at the table. Actually, my dad is a "Salt User" which means his body uses it up too fast. His doctor tells him to add lots of salt to his diet. Interesting, isn't it?

Congrats on the new cutter purchases, Darlene and Maggie! I hope you will both LOVE your choices! (I, alas, have not made a cutter purchase.)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww... Maggie is having twins! Should we plan a baby shower?

Yes, I am very excited about going back to Thailand. It will be in June, like last year. We'll be doing the same sort of "work" but with different kids this year. The team is mostly new this year, too - the team leaders (a couple) are the same, and the lady who will be my roomate is from last year's team. The team leader of the college group went last year, as well. So out of a team of 18, only 5 of us went last year. Oh, and yes, it is in the same city - even in the same hotel/conference center............. but I don't have to ride an elephant again this year! YAY!

Nope... I've decided I'm not a bit excited about my trip. LOL!

TGIF!

Maggie, sorry about the no snow - don't fret, we didn't get any either! LOL!! *grin!* I have no idea why I thought you had snow, you clearly said no snow - duh!

Shelly, happy anniversary to you! Sounds like a great celebration!

Darlene, I will be excited to hear how you like your cutter - wow, that is pricey! You are so blessed to have that to chose from!

Busy weekend lined up here - in fact, just got home and have to turn around and leave in an hour. I'm teacher helper today while the faculty has their annual softball game - staff 'vs' upper grades at ds's private school. Then I have to drive across town to work the school store for an hour, which I do not like to do, lol. I volunteered this week again in the art lab and the teacher came to talk to me about helping out on a weekly basis - me? Art? I'm there!! I was excited beyond belief. I already volunteer up to my eyeballs but give me some paint, charcoaling, paper mache ... super excited I am!

My dh and dd14 leave for a chorus trip and wont' return til Saturday. Wish I could say it's a stay at home stampin' kind of weekend but it's either all or nothing in this house! EVERYTHING is on the same time/day and it's getting harder to be in 5 places at once, esp with dh gone. Yikes! ::: breath :::

I'll stop in later, gators!

LOL! I really do need to get some things for them. I need one of those cat trees where they can climb up and go in and out of. I only have one that Maggie Mae likes to sleep in and I sure don't want them fighting over that. I want a big one that will give them some exercise. They'll also need their own little food dishes. I have tons of toys for them to play with so I don't think I'll get any more of those.

Sounds like you're going to have another fabulous time this year. Since you'll be over and around there, will you have the opportunity to visit with your DD in China?

Maggie, I'm not the one with the DD in China. My DD is in Mississippi... and I plan to go visit her in 3 weeks.

Oh, but my DD is planning a mission trip to Peru this July... won't that be fun!?!? She went on the mission trip to South Africa with me a number of years ago.... but hasn't been on one since. I'm so excited for her!

Well, I'm almost through having another one of WHEW kind of days.........Got up this morning and the mechanic called to tell me he could fix the vehicle - to the tune of $700.00 or so!!!!!! EEK!!!!! Said the wheel bearings on both sides were worn out and on on the right side were a hair away from being completely gone - which supposedly means, the tires would have locked up and the entire wheel would have gone flying off the vehicle!!!!!!!! He said I should have called from San Antonio and asked for a tow truck as I was very lucky to be alive!!!!!!! So, I'm feeling very blessed right now and $752.00 poorer. LOL! But, it's fixed and I'm ready to go again - but NOT to the eye doctor. Yes, that's STILL making me mad! Oh well...........
Got home after getting my car and found out we're having company tomorrow. So started cleaning a bit around the house, washing a load of clothes......and something happened to the washer and water went all over the floor in the laundry/craft room. This is so not good! Thank goodness it didn't get to my craft stuff and I saw it in time. Jim supposedly "fixed" everything - but um....that remains to be seen! LOL!
HOPEFULLY, tomorrow goes better!!!!!!!!!

Kelly - that's great about you doing the art deal once a week! How fun!!!

Maggie - Can't wait to see a photo of the twins!! FUN, too! I bet they'll be just fine with the other cats and probably love their new home! Glad you got your computer going again.

Shelly - Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!! That's great! Hope you have a safe trip this weekend and the weather/snow isn't too bad. Which one of the paper cutters did you get from SU - the trimmer or the guillotine type? Thanks for sharing the recipe too. I'll try it.

Gotta go.......have a roast cooking and need to add some potatoes to it!
Later,
Lynn

Oops! Sorry. Hope you have a fun time visiting in Mississippi.

That does sound like a lot of fun. It's great that she's able to go to these different places. Almost like the old Peace Corps many years ago.

Wow! That was pretty scary. So glad that nothing happened while you were getting the car to the mechanic.

Yikes on the washer and water leak. I sure hope that got fixed and glad that your craft supplies were not affected.

I sure hope their new homes loves them back. I really do want them to be friends with Maggie Mae. I need to get out sometime tomorrow and get them a cat climbing thing. Our new sister missionaries called me tonight to see if they could come visit tomorrow. We settled on 3 p.m. and I invited them to stay for dinner, so now I've got to figure that out. I did buy 2 Turkey/Spinach lasagnas at Costco a couple weeks ago, so I can serve one of those and get some salad and bread and some fruit. That should do it okay. Maybe make some brownies for dessert.

I'm back!!! Finally!!!

We had company all day long - it was very nice but now I'm tired. The lady that came was an old high school friend of Jim's!! We're talking back in the VERY dark ages! LOL!

I got to looking and realized I didn't have a single card done for next week (except a DT commitment) so after she left I made a quick card for Monday. I want to try to do a couple tomorrow if possible. I'm thinking I must be in another one of my slumps.....can't seem to concentrate on any of it right now.

Paola, I sure am glad we don't have to think about snow down this way - although it's beautiful and I'd like it maybe just once during the winter - but we can pretty much live in flip flops all year long here. I'm sure Kelly can too.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and staying safe in travels! Will check back tomorrow.

Lynn

Phew - what a marathon - I have got all but two of the neighbours cards and our own cards made. But I must admit I have enjoyed it, but when I went to do another card late afternoon (the first of the ones I need) I went blank - wonder why, after nine cards in two days!!

Still hot and dry here - but the tomatoes are ripening well, and the grapes will be sweet .

It's been great to catch up on all your chatter - hopefully I will be able to participate some more this week coming.

Good morning all!

Maxine, that's a lot of cards in two days! What fun you have had! Ideas for the rest of the cards you need will come to you soon.

Just you mentioning hot weather in your post has warmed me up some. Spring is still a ways away for us in MN. Another snow system is supposed to move through in the next day or two. And then March is often an unsettled month for weather and we've been known to get snow in April and even May on rare occasions.

Lynn, no ribbon yet!

Oh, and the ladies with the new paper cutters, please give your reviews! A friend of mine is in need of a new trimmer,

DH wants to go to an auction today and I would rather stamp!

Good morning Stamp Addicts! Yikes, did I forget to come by yesterday?

It was a busy kind of day. Got up early and went to pick up the twins from my GF. That took a little bit. They were not excited about leaving her home, but got them in the carrier and we went off to the vet. I took them to the Wellness Clinic because it would be cheaper for their shots. Same place I took them to be neutered. But you can't get an appointment; it's first come, first served and we were there for at least 2 hours waiting! Finally got them seen and all they needed was the Feline Distemper since they were indoor kitties and not going outside. My GF gave me some flea meds for them and I had the vet put those on them while we were there.

After I got them home I had to set up the cage for them to live in while we all get acclimated to having them here. Maggie Mae is not sure she likes them. She'll go up to the cage and hiss at them! I keep telling her not to do that.

I had to go to the grocery store. I was expecting company for dinner. Got home from there at 2 and was able to get dinner all ready. We had a frozen lasagna made with turkey and spinach and low fat cheese, so it was healthy and very yummy. I bought some dark chocolate brownies for dessert and Fat Free Frozen Cookies & Cream Yogurt. We had salad, fruit, and rolls to go with it, so it was all easy. These were our new Sister missionaries in our Ward. I'm so happy to have them here and to be able to have them come visit. I gave them the rest of the lasagna, some rolls, and the brownies to take home with them. They were very happy since they didn't have a dinner appointment today and now wouldn't have to cook something.

I did work on coloring some images last night for my DT cards. I need to work on those today.

This morning the boys had spilled their water again, so I had to clean out their home as well as their litter box. They hissed at me, but were not aggressive and I was able to reach in and pet them and scratch their heads and ears and chins. Another day or two and I'll see if I can get one of them out to hold them. They are just all curled up in a corner together.

Glad that you had a fun time at the birthday party. Hope you're not too sore today from all that dancing.

Yes, she is named after me, but I didn't name her. When I trapped her and her mom in my back yard, she was barely 6 weeks old. I gave her to the same GF that rescues kitties to raise her and then we were going to find a home. At the time we each had too many. I had 4 in the house. And I actually did have someone who was thinking about taking her. One weekend I took her to a local animal shelter to see if she would get adopted. When I picked her up and brought her home, she was sick with kennel cough. It was terrible because all the other kitties at home also got it, so I was treating my babies for a few weeks. It was right before Thanksgiving and the last one quit sneezing like a day before I was to leave because he had to be boarded. They rest could stay home, but Kitty Boy was on meds and went to stay at the Vet. Anyway, my GF called her Maggie Foster. Maggie for me (although she knows me as Margaret) and Foster because she was a foster kitty. Needless to say, I ended up keeping her and am so glad that I did. She's just the sweetest kitty, very loving. I started calling her Maggie Mae. It just seemed to fit.

Glad you were able to get lots of cards made. I need to do that today.

Oh, I just love home grown tomatoes. If I grow anything this year, it'll be in containers. We had grape arbors when I was growing up and the grapes were so neat to have right there. My mom would make them into jelly.

My Dahle is great! I really need to clean off my table though and find another spot for my flat guillotine cutter. I'll probably just move it to the other side on the other table. Then the Dahle will be right there and convenient to use.

Morning all!

Paige, I can't believe y'all are still getting snow........BURRRRRRR! We're really starting to warm up some down this way with great weather...in the 70's during the day. I know you're jealous! LOL! Also can't believe you haven't gotten your ribbon yet!! It may be time to call or e-mail! (If case y'all are wondering what we're talking about, Paige and I signed up for the Really Reasonable Ribbon club - I've gotten my first package and love it!)

P, dancing with all those girls just had to be so much fun!! They would have worn me out really quick! But, you're right - making wonderful memories.

Maggie, keep us updated on the boys. Know they'll settle in quick. Maybe once they get out of the cage, they'll be better. Sounds like you had a super busy day yesterday but sure it was nice. I'm just not sure if my craft table can handle one of the large guillotine cutters - not a lot of room. I may just see if I can find a cheap-o from Wally World to test before I spend a bunch of money on one. Um...that's a thought!

Maxine, can't believe you made 9 cards in two days!!! WOW!!!!!!! That's a lot of crafting - but was fun too I'm sure. Hope you're feeling better now.

Will check back later.........
Lynn

Hello my Friends!

Busy couple of days (Friday & Saturday) no time for online play for me!

Just read back through everyone's updates! Let's see if I can remember everything (apologies if I overlook anything, it's not intentional)

Maggie, good luck with your twins!! The climbing tree sounds like just the ticket for the two youngsters! Hopefully Maggie Mae will be charmed by their antics as they relax and adjust to their new home!
I was REALLY researching that Dahle cutter...I'm glad that you splurged and got it for you, it sounds wonderful.

Shelly: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY - belated though the wish is! Safe travels to your parents. I know your mom will be happy for the help and your artistic time together! Hopefully Hubby can distract and engage your father in some sports and other activities.

Maxine: Please listen to the medical advice from Shelly, (also said with a loving mother/friend voice!) Glad to hear that the tests are good, but don't take any chances, ok? Hugs!

Kelly: here's hoping that you get a little down time soon! But I know that you are devoted to your kids' activities and that is a good thing!

Paola: The birthday spa and dancing sounds WONDERFUL!!! So happy for you!

Lynn: Total bummer about the Dr. trip and HOLY COW about your vehicle!! Your guardian angel was on duty for sure! Ouch on the repair though. And then the washer on top. Ugh, sounds like how events happen in my life. Thank goodness your stamping supplies were not damaged.

Paige: We're getting snow here today as well. Third Sunday in a row! This one is a heavy wet snow so cleaning up will be a problem. I hurt my shoulder on Friday so no shoveling for me. I'll post a review of the cutter once it gets here. I think it may come later this week.

Jeanette: Too bad you are not excited about returning to Thailand in June You have to share just like last year so we can live vicariously through your experiences! That's really great about your daughter's trip this year, she must be excited as well.

We took dinner over to the neighbors last night and visited. She's doing chemo right now for cancer, but doing pretty well considering. The hubbies are best friends for over 20 years. It was nice but we had no idea of the time! Eventually her and I got tired and I broke up the guys and said we had to leave. They grumbled like boys about it, LOL. When we got home it was after 11:00!!! That's a shocker because we're usually asleep before 10!

Shelly:
Thanks for the pork roast recipe, it sounds great. Will definitely add it to the list to try in the future!
I wondered about SU's new cutter too. Glad that it's working well for you. I have a Fiskars that looks similar and will keep that one for little jobs and if I ever need to go somewhere with a trimmer.

Thanks, Darlene!

I fear I won't be a good 'empty-nester' - I have been so very blessed as mom to my quad and love all that they do. I volunteer because I can (well, for now!) and until I'm back at the work force, hope they don't mind having me around!

Big hugs to all!

Oh, I just love home grown tomatoes. If I grow anything this year, it'll be in containers. We had grape arbors when I was growing up and the grapes were so neat to have right there. My mom would make them into jelly.
Oh maggie, I rememember coming state-side to visit my grandparents in southern Cali when I was just a small child. My gpa harvested peaches in vast orchards and we'd walk (what seemed like miles, cuz we were so little!) and even today, I remember the smell, the tastes. He'd reach up and pull them down and we'd just chomp away on the peaches, juices running all over our faces and hands. They say we shouldn't have memories from before the age of 3 but clear as day, I see it in my mind - hear it - smell it!

Yes, Lynn, year round flip-flop girl right here!!!!!! I even have the flip flop tan to prove it, ROFL!! (though I won't grace you with a picture of my foot!)

Oh come on Kelly.........let's see those feet!!!!! LOL!

I piddled away all afternoon and read a book! I didn't even walk back in the laundry/craft room at all. Way bad of me - but I do have one card for tomorrow so guess that's a start.

I've just really been a little - excuse the language here - pissy lately as I got a jury summons for District court tomorrow and was NOT looking forward to that. I had to spend so much time in court when I was working and the mere thought of having to go was just not sitting well with me at all! I enjoyed the people I worked with there and it would be nice to visit with them again but had no desire to have to sit on a jury. Besides that, I'd probably know the defendant since so many go from probation right back into the system for another offense. Plus I see some of my co-workers anyway as we keep somewhat in touch. I guess I just had enough stress in my life back then and didn't want to have to deal with all that again. Hope I'm not sounding like I was trying to shirk my civic duty - but................ ANYWAY, you have to call their number today in case they cancel court - and lo and behold, they CANCELLED for tomorrow!!!!! YEAH! They just never cancel District Court around here so I was very surprised AND happy! Maybe now I can concentrate more on making a card!
