I'm going to bed too. Tomorrow morning DH is taking me out on a date. We're taking the boat out on the river. Then I'll come home and craft.
Hey Maggie, Pam and Nancy, I want to see what you make with your new stuff!
Has anyone made coiled fabric flowers before? I want to make some keychains and totebags with those flowers on them. I just wondered if I should buy those sticky rounds from SU. They are 2 1/2 inch diameter, 12 per package at 4.00 after my discount. So that would be around 30 cents a piece to anchor the fabric. Just wondering if it's worth it.
I updated my blog with my creation for the new Color Me Beautiful Challenge. I'll be visiting you wonderful ladies today/tonight to see what you've been up to.
I'm actually working on quite a few more things & I'm thinking about sending some of my work off to some magazines to see if anyone's interested in publishing it.....you never know until you try & besides----Teresa, one of my downline has been published quite a few times so she's been pushing me to try lately. We'll see right?
Carole; I don't have those yet but it seems really simple to make those flowers that way. I have so much ribbon here that I'm thinking of buying those as well as using the ones I got from TexasJodyLynn a long time ago. Congrats on securing your spot @ the craft show....I'm sure you'll do great
AM....I received my birthday card yesterday! Thank you so much & I appreciate the goodies inside! Totally made my day!!!!
Speaking of birthdays; I have 2 more cards to work on for some special peeps......one of the resolutions I made for myself was to be more proactive with birthdays! I literally suck at this so it's a personal goal to be better. I give myself a pat on the back for remembering my downline birthdays but I should also be more mindful of my friends
I have a lot to do today so I'm off to get inky....BBL

"Off to get inky!" are beautiful words!! LOL
You are very welcome for the bday card! I am trying to do better too about sending them! I make them...I should really send them! LOLOLOL Have a fun inky day!

Hope you have a fun morning!
I haven't tried the sticky rounds, but they look fun! I have a friend that made me one of the coiled fabric flowers for one of my bags and I love it! They are really pretty!
I took my 13 year old girl kid to town yesterday and bought her a sewing machine! She is very craft oriented and clever about it, but doesn't love it! LOL I am hoping to broaden her horizons and get her pumped up about something! She picked out a pattern for a stuffed unicorn and we discussed making several and donating them to a children's hospital or Ronald McDonald House type of place. She tried not to get excited about it (she is a teenager), but was up in the middle of the night trying to get the thing threaded! LOL *fingers crossed!*

I haven't heard anything back about my new stuff, but when I do I'll share what I make!
My best friend's son is getting married next weekend. She is doing a camoflage/hunting theme for the rehearsal dinner. She's not crafty so I've been helping her. She bought crocks at a salvage outlet for $1.49. I covered them in camo fabric and tied a bow around them with baler's twine. Then I used the crop-a-dile to punch holes into spent shot gun shells and tied two of them to where the bow is. They turned out cute. My friend and her aunt are going to put dried flowers, wheat, and mums in them.
I saw a sign for a redneck wedding on Pinterest that said, The Hunt Is Over. She's getting someone to make a big one, but I made a small one to set at her son's place setting that says the same thing. Then I made one for her bride that says....He got the best whitetail in around. (whitetail = deer) They will love it! I used a woodburning kit (that was probably 25 years old, at least!) to make the signs. I can't believe people bought those things for kids!!!! They should come with a first aid kit....LOL
Ok, so I thought about it (I mean really, really thought about it!!) and I think that for the time being we should leave the group as is! We have fallen into a very warm, comfortable and wonderful dynamic! We all know each other pretty well and all post often enough to keep things fun and jogging along! So, unless there are any objections let's stay as is for the time being! I do feel very lucky to have each of you here! You are nice!!
Ok, I am off to run stinky errands! Have a nice Friday day everyone! Will be back by later!

I couldn't agree more but didn't want to sound too selfish! I like a small group & the fact that we do know each other pretty well so great choice AM

I used to love to go out boating with my dad. I sure miss him and all the fun we used to have.
Well, I haven't even unpacked my box yet!!!!!!!! I've been so busy with other stuff that needs to get done. I will soon though because I have to make a Halloween something and I got new Halloween stuff in my SU box.
I have some of those big sticky glue dots in my SU box. I bought them for flowers, but I haven't made any coiled fabric flowers. Are they on Pinterest?

Your CMBC card is so gorgeous. Since I'm a purple freak, I just love the colors you guys used this time.
It's one of my personal goals also to be published. Just need to get organized. Which magazines are you going to send to?
Speaking of getting organized, I got my clothes pins today and my blank DVD cases yesterday, so it's time to schedule a day off from work, and the lucky day is next Wednesday! I can't wait. I thought I was going to have to put it off another week, but my boss's mediation he had scheduled has been moved to some offices downtown, so he'll be out of the office all day. Makes it a perfect day to be off.
You are very welcome for the bday card! I am trying to do better too about sending them! I make them...I should really send them! LOLOLOL Have a fun inky day!
That's my deal also. I'm so bad about getting the cards signed and put in an envelope. I should just do that as I'm making the card so it's all ready to go when the time comes.

That's fabulous. Not that she was up in the middle of the night, but that she was interested in learning the machine and sewing. Great idea to donate them somewhere. Maybe one day she can have an Etsy shop and sell stuff.

Sounds like a really fun wedding and so sweet of you to help her out with the decorations. They sounds really cute.

I totally agree 100% I'm really so glad that I found all you guys. You're all so much fun and I do learn a lot from you.

Take Ten is one for sure & any others I can find. Their website has everything listed & the due dates so it'll be fun to just make some stuff & send it.

I have never made the flowers before, have fun!

Good luck! I have never had the nerve to send something of mine in.

That is awesome! And so great she can do something positive with it. She has such a big heart! I love it!

I couldn't agree more! I did not want to offend anyone, but I think we have a great group as it is.

Are you kidding??? You must have mad patience. I want to see what is in my box as soon as I get it! I can't wait!
Have fun!

I have thought about them and also Card Maker, but CM has their details so far in advance. They are probably working on the Fall/Winter magazine now. I should check into that one. I tried an online magazine and had my cards rejected twice. Not sure if I want to try with them again for awhile. Besides, I wasn't crazy about their themes for the Nov/Dec magazine.
Are you kidding??? You must have mad patience. I want to see what is in my box as soon as I get it! I can't wait!

Oh, wait! I did open the box and look in at all the stuff, but it's all still in the box. I had to open it at work because one of the girls at work bought some things from me so I had to give her the things that she ordered.
I have a birthday party tomorrow, grocery and some housework to do. Sunday, I should get some time to play a bit and get into some ink!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!
I have a church women's meeting tomorrow evening so I'll just have the morning to play. I've also got a church meeting after church on Sunday, so I should have some time to play. I've got a number of projects to do.
Glad to hear I am not the only one that is horrible about birthday cards! I usually buy {gasp} cards for birthdays! I even told DH not to get me an anniversary card cuz that would mean I would have to get him one!
AM, my DD has never been crafty either. I tried when she was in fifth grade to have her do a mini scrap album of her friends. In high school tried to get her to learn how to crochet. Even let her have my book on how to crochet that I bought when I was in high school! Tried to get her to embroider a handkerchief for her grandpa (he still has the ones I made for him in elementary school). In girls scouts the troop leader gave the girls knitting needles and yarn. She is more artsy so I even tried stamping and even in art class they had to make ATC's and I had high hopes! No craft interest!
Maybe sewing will be your daughter's thing! Maybe she won't see it as crafty!
Late night check in before going off to bed. Worked on a card tonight. Got all done and I realized I hadn't put a sentiment on it. It didn't really need one, but I like to put something on the cards so I had to figure that out. Turner out looking pretty good.
Thought I'd check out Feline Playful winners and found my name as a winner of a rubber stamp over at Wag 'n Whiskers. They have some really cute stamps and some a little more grown up looking. Big variety. I'm going to get a winter related one.
Hope I get to sleep in a little bit tomorrow, but I have so much to do, I don't want to waste any time.

Sounds great! It has taken me a long time to remember everyone's name....LOL
Well I'm sitting here with bleach and foil in my hair....Oh Boy!!! My daughter and I are dying our hair pink for Breast Cancer Month. Hers is going to be pink on the ends, and mine is just a thin pink stripe.
My brother is a paid firefighter/EMT, and his county ordered Pink T-Shirts with their emblem and the breast cancer ribbon. The back says, Real Men Wear Pink. They are required to wear them all month. He bought my Dad one, and he can't wait until Monday to wear it! LOL He said, I'm going to wash it and wear it and wash it and wear it and wash it and wear it....all month long! November is Diabetes Awareness month and he wants me to find a diabetes shirt for him.
I went to a few yardsales this morning, but didn't get out until late and there wasn't any good stuff left. Didn't buy a single thing. Tomorrow we're going to a 40th Birthday Party.
Yesterday, I did a card for the {Pin}spirational Challenge Blog and need to get it uploaded. I hope I'm not too late! It turned out pretty cute!
I have always wanted to submit cards to get published, but I've never tried. Have you ever seen the magazine, Just Cards? It's my favorite card magazine. There aren't many ads and tons of photos. They have a wide variety of styles, and sometimes you look at a card and think....they couldn't find anything better than that to publish??? LOL It's alot of repeat designers...some gals might have 10 cards in 1 issue. They have the submission info. in the back....maybe I'll see what's involved. You girls have me inspired. It would be sooooo cool if we ALL got published!!! We'd be FAMOUS!!! LOL
Are you kidding me? Your cards are gorgeous Hun & I bet you would get published before I would!!!!!
Thank you, but I see so many that are so elaborate. I think I have a ways to go. There are so many different styles of cards, I know you will get published!
