I just skimmed it...looked like there were specific challenges due each week. I will have to look again!
Nope. They are only suggestions if you want to take part, but I never can keep up with them. I just do my own thing. I think this year I may make some tags too. One of my blogging friends sent me one this year and inspired me.
That is fabulous! I'm so proud of you and Athina for keeping up with the workouts. They say that drinking all that water will really help and you can add things to the water like apples and cinnamon sticks; cucumbers and lemons slices. There is a whole Pinterest Do It Yourself Health page that I looked at yesterday. Has some great ideas.
*Great big, squeeze-y hug!!* Thank you! The encouragement and support is sincerely very helpful for me!

Poppin' on to let you all know that I have been extremely ill & I'm still not 100% yet. I'm not sure what hit us but it's nasty & I'm still very weak. Bear with me please as I recover & I'll be posting again soon I hope. Have a great day my friends
Feel better Jackie! Thanks for letting us know what was going on. We all get worried when someone goes AWOL.
Thanks for the birthday wishes DD cooked me pancakes and bacon and I'm kicked back relaxing with NO PLANS! YAY!!! It's cold and windy here, so I'm hoping DH will order dinner in.
Congrats on all of you getting healthy and fit! I'm trying not to drink sodas. I'm down to one/day, and some days I can go without. I've also been doing some stretching and mild exercises to try to get motivated. I hate exercising
Feel better everyone who is ailing. It's no fun being sick. Almost everyone we know has had some kind of bug. We know a few people who have had the real flu too....that's serious stuff! Glad I got a flu shot, and I hope it works.
My brother is doing well. He's home and doing cognitive and occupational therapy nearby. He's not allowed to drive, which is a good thing. The part of his memory that is effected the most is where things are. He asked my dad to take him to the bank, and he knew the name, but didn't have any idea where it was. Fortunately, we live in a small town, and my dad figured it out. He has also had trouble finding a friend's house and the firehouse. Hopefully, that will come back. He really needs that to go back to work.
Pam, I'm so glad to hear your brother is doing well. It's going to be so frustrating for him when he can't remember things. The best thing you can do is be understanding and patient. It's not easy realizing that someone can forget things like that. I know my dad has a hard time and then beats himself up about it. I just try to act like it's no big deal that's what we're for.
I don't know if I ever told you guys but my dad is deaf so when he forgets signs, it's so frustrating for him. It's amazing how you can have a conversation with your eyes and know what the person wants. My dad will rarely speak (he's always been this way except for with us) but when he can't remember the signs, we tell him to say it and that works. He's hard to understand but when you grow up with it, it's easy for us.
What I'm trying to say is go with what he does remember.... if he forgets how to get somewhere you can always see if he remembers what the building looks like or what's next to it or something like that.

So glad to hear that your brother is home. I hope with therapy and rest he can get all his cognitive skills back. Maybe he could use a GPS in his car to get him where he needs to be when he doesn't remember how to get there.

Didn't know that about your dad. I'm sure it is frustrating not being able to communicate some times. He's so lucky to have you guys as part of his family for your understanding and help that he needs.
Thank you! Walked 4 miles Tues....4 miles Wed...2 miles yesterday and plan to do 4 today! I have been super faithful to the calorie counting thing {{did you guys know that 10 plain m&ms equate to 34 calories }} and am drinking enough water to make my eyeballs float around in their sockets! LOL I weighed and measured and plan to weigh once a week and measure once a month.
Big ole hips and butt...be gone with you!! LOL
Good for you AM! I am so proud of you! Keep it up!

Happy Birthday Pam! Your card is in the mail, it may be late, I am sorry.
Just a note, I did not forget to put it on my blog as I have in the past. I decided to change it up this year and just send a card.
So glad to hear that your brother is getting better, I have been thinking about him. Hopefully he will get the memory back soon. Still sending prayers your way.

I didn't know that Dorlene, was he born deaf?
I took a sign language class in college, but I think I have forgotten most of it. I found it very interesting.
I had to take my fur baby, Stella, in today to have a cyst removed from her leg and her head and had her teeth cleaned. THe poor baby was out of it when we got home. She is very skidish and backwards, so it is not fun when something changes for her. I am suppose to keep her leg dry (it is wrapped in gauze), so I have to put cling wrap on it before she goes outside. She took it off the first time, little sneak. She hasn't messed with it much, but the vet said to leave the bandage on until next Wednesday. I have an e-collar incase she decides she wants to take it off. I tried to put it on her and she freaked out. DH had to hold her so I could get it on and then she stood there and shook. It was pitiful. She wouldn't move because she would hit the floor with it. I ended up taking it off and now I am sleeping on the couch to watch her.

It wasn't late, it came today!!!! I was so excited, especially since I saw it on your blog! I feel so special Thank You!
I had a good day.....did a whole bunch of nothing except what I wanted to do, so it was perfect!
I learned a new thing today. Has anyone heard of Scoop It!? It's called a Magazine...you'll have to look at it, because I'm not sure how to explain it. There is a way to follow it, so you can see all the new Scoops I add. For my first Scoops, I used projects that you guys have on your blogs. It's pretty cool! I love learning new things online. It makes me feel so smart Here is the link:

I learned ASL years ago too and actually taught a deaf Sunday School class, but haven't been able to keep it up and have also forgotten everything I used to know. There is a TV show though called Sue Thomas FBI(Eye) and she is deaf so they use sign language on the show. Maybe I'll pick up some more.

Awwwww. . poor baby. Hope she'll leave it alone so it can heal up.

The weather is terrible this morning! All rainy. Ugh!
Oops. The cleaning lady showed up this morning at 8 am. We had not talked about when she was coming back. She said that I said every 3 weeks. NOT! I never said that - she said she'd like to come every 3 weeks, but I never agreed to that. And I'm not sure I want her to come back at all. I am certainly not ready for her to come today.

Yikes! Did you send her away?! That would have bugged me a bit, I believe!
I wanted to let you know have tried to leave you some blog love a couple of times and it says my comment is submitting, but then won't actually submit. Your blog looks great! Love your messy desk picture! Made me feel like I was in my own stamping room! LOL
Did hubby wind up ordering in dinner for you last night?
Dorlene, my mom and grandma are both hard of hearing. Not to the point of needing to use sign language, but I can sure understand what it is like. It can be very frustrating sometimes for both parties.
Only things on my agenda for today are to walk and to stamp, stamp, stamp! I should be cleaning house, but that doesn't sound like any fun at all so I think I will skip it! LOL

The comments on my blogs are so darn finicky. No worries...thanks for visiting!
We ordered dinner from a BBQ Place nearby and DH went and got it
Athina, one of my dogs has a personality like yours. I hope she heals quickly
I got my staples out yesterday, so I after putting a shower sleeve over my IV line, I got to take a real shower today!! PURE HEAVEN!!!!!
Infectious Disease doc put me on a special diet to promote healing. No red mean and I HATE FISH. I may start clucking in the next 4 weeks
There's something about taking a shower that makes everything better! Glad to hear that you're hanging in there. We eat a ton of chicken here CLUCK CLUCK!

Oh no! You should have sent her to my house. I could have kept her busy
My mom is hard of hearing too. Neither of my parents were born deaf. My dad was stuck in a snowstorm when he was a toddler and froze his ear drums and completely lost his hearing and my mom had pneumonia when she was a child. At first she completely lost her hearing, but as she became a young adult she regained some of it back but is still considered hearing impaired by state standards. They both use sign language as their way to communicate although my mom can speak fairly well and hear ok with her hearing aid. Of course as she gets older, it gets worse.

Congrats on getting the staples out. Years ago when I had a line, I had to wrap my arm in Saran Wrap to keep it from getting wet and even then it was hard.
Sorry about not liking fish. I guess I probably cluck a lot because I eat mostly chicken or turkey. I love pork. Is that considered red meat? They always call it the other white meat.

I got some cleaning done yesterday - picked up and organized things, did some laundry, went to the grocery store (Yikes!) and made a dessert for the family gathering today. Not sure where I got the recipe, but it sounds great and I think the kids will love it. Maybe the older kids too. You put chocolate cookie dough in the bottom and spread it out, then put a layer of Oreos on top of that and then mix up brownies and put the batter over all the top of it. I actually had to use 1 1/2 boxes of brownies to cover all the cookies. Looks and smells fabulous!
I did get some stamping done, but not as much. I got one card done and need to work on the other one today.

That sounds really good! I might have to try that. I always make stuff for firehouse fundraisers and I get tired of always making the same old things.
