All is well over here in Central CA. We had a little rain for Christmas Day but that was about it. It's cold, well, California cold, but tolerable. I met my mom half way because she forgot presents for my boys. Even though I told her it was fine we'd get them later, she felt the need to bring them to us. So about 1/2 way is about an hour drive for both of us. Not too bad. We met at In and Out Burger and she treated.
Crafty supplies I received: glue sticks from DH (I think I already told you guys about those) and DD gave me some 3D stickers and a Tim Holtz paper pad. I also received a $25 gift card for Michaels.
Pam, glad to hear DD is doing well and that you had some time to relax. Hopefully the hospital will allow your brother to come home and receive therapy closer to your parents. They should probably speak to his insurance company because I would think they would be the ones who should give the approval.
Lots to talk about so everyone grab a cup of your favorite beverage and let's chit chat!
I did a whole lot of nothing yesterday! LOL We did deliver our daughter back to her house yesterday at 5 am so she could make it to work on time. It was wonderful keeping her the extra day though! We all put on our new warm fuzzy Christmas socks and watched old movies and ate leftovers!!
So, I was wondering...
...when does everyone un-decorate for Christmas? I am thinking I will probably tackle that this weekend or maybe even Monday! I love the thought of starting the year with everything all cleaned up and put away, but also love all the pretty lights and decorations! Hmmmm, maybe Tuesday then! LOL
...anyone making any New Year resolutions?! I am resolving to improve my eating habits and get back to exercising! Also, I want to organize my life! De-clutter, get my closets cleaned out, organize all our important papers etc. All pretty cliche', but needs to be done! I read a great quote this morning! "Improvement begins with I." Anyone else jumping on the exercise/diet train? Finally, I am resolving to be more faithful to my blog this year!
...I have decided to attempt to make Christmas cards all year long! I am thinking maybe one a week or two every two weeks? Some combination that will yield at least 4 a month. I want to have a nice stock pile by Dec 1 of 2013. I thought about starting a thread on Splitcoast to get a group together to do this, but wanted to bring it up to y'all first. Any one else interested in something like this? Athina, you did something like this this past year, didn't you? How was it?
...love hearing about everyone's crafty presents! I got an awesome craft book from my youngest son, a gorgeous leaf die for the big shot from my youngest daughter, 2 stamp sets and adhesive from my oldest daughter and a gift card to the crafty place of my choice from my oldest son! I also went for it and got the Zutter book binder with the gift card from my folks. That is due to arrive today and I cannot wait to begin making mini albums! WooHoooo!!!
...hubby got a new coffee maker/press for Christmas so that would explain my use of a million words here this morning! On my second cup! LOL
I love the week between Christmas and New Years. Since DH is off work, it's a good excuse to DO NOTHING! hehe! Since I didn't get my Christmas tree up until late, I'll probably leave it up a little longer than usual. Maybe I'll take it down next weekend. I have two trees and a lighted wreath over the sofa, and I love how they look at night. I don't want to take them down yet
I never make New Years Resolutions, because I have no will power and can't keep them. I have a whole list of stuff that I'd like to do though Do more fun stuff with family, spend more time in my scrapping room, keep my house cleaner, be more organized, exercise, eat right, etc etc.
They are calling for an inch or two of snow here tomorrow. We're right on the rain/snow border, so we'll see if we get any. I'm working on laundry and cleaning up my scrapping room so I can start a new mess
I know I mentioned this before, but for those of you who are on Facebook, The Digi Garden posts a free digi every Friday and today's is ADORABLE!!! I shared it on my P.S. I Love You FB wall too. It's perfect for Valentine's Day!
Well they downgraded the blizzard about 4 yesterday to a winter storm. The winds had died down, thankfully. DH did have to work and said the roads weren't great, but there was no one on them. I woke up with some sort of head cold crap this morning, took some benedryl and went back to bed. So I am just getting up and moving.
Dr. Maggie, what do I need for head congestion? I have taken a mucinex already.
I have a lot to get done, as I was not very productive yesterday and I don't know how productive I will be today.
Everyone have a great day!
Sorry DH had to go to work, but glad that the roads were clear of most other cars so he didn't have a problem with it. Sorry about the head cold.
Sage tea is great for colds and congestion. Add a Tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and a Tablespoon of honey.
The Mucinex is great to get the chest congestion under control. Hope you are feeling better.

Nancy, I hope your son is home and all is well.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
It's nice that you were able to spend some time with your mom even if it had to be at In And Out Burgers. That's funny that we went there also the other night. Probably not the same one though. Any idea what you'll get at Michaels?
Lots to talk about so everyone grab a cup of your favorite beverage and let's chit chat!

If I had a tree up, I'd take it down on New Year's Day.

I'm signing up with Weight Watchers. I saw an add where you can sign up for free, so that'll be good. I'm also planning to get back to walking (weather permitting) and hoping to get back to the Wii and some stretching (yoga). I'd love to get more organized, but that takes so much time. That may need to wait until I have some more extended time off.

There is a Christmas Card Challenge thread on SCS already. I have been doing that for a couple years now. You sign up and say how many cards you want to make every month. I usually try doing 5 a month. I didn't get most of mine posted in my gallery or on the thread, but I did get all the cards down up through September. I think I'll sign up to do 5 a month again.

Congrats on getting the Zutter. Hope you enjoy using that.
I think today is going to be a laid back stay at home day. They had talked about going to see The Hobbit, but I think that's not happening today. Tomorrow we're supposed to go maybe to Malibu and some other touristy stuff.

I had to stay in the hospital 3 days longer due to complications (infection). I'm home and getting antibiotics with IV twice a day for 4 weeks.
Yesterday Physical Therapy began and will continue for a couple months. Lots of hard word to get the new knee to work well, full range of motion, strength etc.
Our dear friends brought Christmas dinner to us so that was wonderful. I've had plenty of visits from friends which has been such a blessing.
I got some beautiful Christmas cards from y'all.
Hard to hold laptop on my lap, cause it touches the knee. owee

It's good to hear from you I hope you feel better and better every day! That was so thoughtful of your friends. Sending healing prayers your way.

Glad that you are home now Carole. Sorry that you had some infection, but hope that is all done now. Good luck with the PT and hope it goes really well.
So sweet of your friends to take care of you.
I received your card too. Can't believe you actually got cards out in the mail. Thank you! Hope you are doing so much better.
HI PJ girls! I'm finally home from CA. I had a wonderful time with DD and the family in spite of cold, rainy weather for the most part. Luckily, we were still able to go do some things on the good days and then stayed in and played games when the weather was bad.
I am having a bad case of blog blah!!! I have been staring at my blog for the last three days! Playing around with it, adding new little things, removing stuff, moving stuff around...trying to clean it up and freshen it up! I am mostly happy with it, but not thrilled. I love going there and hanging out, making posts and sharing! I want to spend lots more time there this year, but right now it is feeling just a little blah to me and I want to jazz things up some! Anyone else go through this?! It just needs a little sumtin sumtin! LOL I guess I will just keep tweaking things til I figure it out!

7) If you could have a dream date with a celebrity who would you choose?

Nope, not even a tiny teeny little bit! I scare creatures great and small when I try! Couldn't carry a tune if I had a bucket to put it in! Doesn't stop me from doing it though! LOL
Popping in to say hello. I'm doing pretty well, thanks to those who asked I can raise my leg by myself now and that pick line IV thingy is not feeling quite so weird now. Hoping to get it out in 4 weeks and two days. Staples come out of the knee in 4 days and I will be able to drive in 4 weeks and 4 days.
Nancy, I've been thinking about y'all.

Yikes Athina!!! Fingers crossed that hubby gets to stay home too!! Enjoy that blizzard themed crafting fun!!
Maggie, hope you are enjoying your visit! Thank you for the beautiful card!!
Carole, how's that knee?
Jackie, got your card! Thank you! Beautiful! Love your pretty handwriting!
Pam, how is your crew doing?
Nancy, thought about you guys several times. Hoping that you guys get home very soon and that when you do celebrate it is awesome!!
Dorlene, ever find out why your in-law gathering didn't happen? Maybe you guys could do a New Year's thing instead?
We had a very nice Christmas celebration! Lots of fun, food and family!
We are supposed to be taking my daughter back to her house today, but it is currently sleeting and really nasty outside so we will be sitting tight too for a bit and watching the weather. I am secretly hoping she will get to stay another day! I would love to cuddle up and watch movies all day and eat lots of left overs rather than drive three hours in the sleet! LOL Plus I just miss having her home!
Hope everyone has some down time today to craft, relax and enjoy the day!
Big hug!
AM glad you got to spend some extra time with DD. That is great! Nothing better than cuddling up on the couch with movies!
Good morning all. Christmas was wonderful and so exhausting! No particular reason why the IL did not get together just a lot of little things like lack of funds for some, others moved or went out of town. We have a big family and someone usually volunteers to host. I never do since I have my own family on Christmas day and that's way too much.
DH and I will visit MIL this weekend.
Hi Dorlene - Glad you had a nice Christmas. I seen the family pics and the quilts on your blog. They are awesome! What great gifts and they were all so unique.
It's 12:15, and I'm still sitting here in my new pj's and comfty, fluffy, soft bathrobe that DH got me for Christmas. He had to work a few hours this morning, but he's back home and watching a John Wayne movie. It's a nasty, rainy cold day and the wind is supposed to pick up later.....nice day for staying in and playing with my new scrapping stuff....need to clean up my scrapping room first!
Nancy.....I've said lots of prayers for you and DS and hope you're home soon.
AM....I hope you get an extra day with DD.
Maggie....I know you're having a wonderful time!
Jackie.....I hope you're enjoying the holiday!
Dorlene.......I hope you have a free day today, to get the house back in order. I had the family here yesterday and have a bit of tidying up to do too.
Carole.....I've been thinking about you, and hoping everything went well and you made it home. Hope you're not in too much pain. Big hugs!!!! **Fluffs your pillow, so you're nice and comfy***
Athina.....I hope DH doesn't have to go out in that mess. I can't wait to see what you create today! I showed everyone the box of goodies you sent and they oooh'd and aaaah'd over the book and card. They loved looking at the handmade cards that I got too!
We had a great breakfast at my parent's house yesterday, then came home to cook dinner for my family and the in-laws. After dinner, my parents, DD, and a friend went to see my brother, which is about a 90 minute drive one way. While they were gone, the rest of us played games and when they got back we had dessert and coffee. My brother is doing well, but very frustrated and wants to come home. My parents aren't real happy with the therapy that he's getting where he is and are going to talk to his therapists today to see if they can either change the regiment or release him to home with a local therapist. I really hope they can get him home. My parents are exhausted. They have been with my brother everyday since he became sick (almost 3 weeks) and it's a long drive. My Mom forgot to get a present for my uncle and was at Walgreens at 10:00pm Christmas Eve buying last minute goodies and my Dad fell asleep on the sofa and was late for Christmas Dinner. That's not like them at all! They need a break!
DD is doing great and is all healed up...thank goodness! I was so worried about her.
Did anyone get any scrappy presents??? I got the Country Life Cricut Cartridge and Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge and can't wait to use them! I also got two Martha Stewart border punches....one with birthday candles and one with butterflies.
OK....it's 12:30 and I should get dressed....or maybe not!
Big Hugs to everyone
Pam - Glad you DD is feeling better. I hope things improve for your brother and that it gets easier for your parents. That is a huge amount of stress.
DH did have to go to work that night - boooo. But it had improved a bit as they called off the blizzard warning about 4 that afternoon. I am so glad you enjoyed your package!
I got a pair of TH scissors and a bunch of copic refils for Christmas (crafty wise). I think DH and I are going out today to get me a cheap notebook so I can work on blogs and stuff during lunches. We have some Christmas money to spend
I'm having a lovely time here in CA. We've had some rain but luckily nothing to keep us from doing anything and it's been early in the morning and quits by the time we would go out to do anything.
Christmas day was great. They girls did not get up uber early but we finally did get them out of bed and down to open gifts. There were tons! My DD and SIL really do spoil their kids, but they get things that they really need so they would probably get a lot of things anyway. My DD just holds on to everything and wraps them for Christmas. She always buys herself new clothes and has her DH wrap them for her too.
I did get scrappy stuff - 2 Cuttlebug die sets - Rose Blossom and Foliage 2 and a Cricut cart - Fabulous Finds. Can't wait to have time to use them when I get home.
We played games most of the day. Took a break while SIL took a nap and then later they took the dog for a walk. Had fun though. Watch the Jim Carrey Grinch movie last night before bed. It wasn't over until 11.
Today we're going to go see Lincoln. My oldest DGD and I wanted to see Les Mis, but DD didn't think SIL would like it so much, so we're not seeing that. Darn. I'm going to have to find someone at home to go see it with me. Not sure what else is on the agenda this week, but I'm sure it'll be some fun stuff.
Sounds like a great Christmas Maggie! So glad you got to have a great time and spend time with your family. Also glad you made it home safely! The Grinch is my favorite Christmas move, eventhough I don't like Jim Carey at all. I think he did a fantastic job in that movie.
Lots to talk about so everyone grab a cup of your favorite beverage and let's chit chat!

AM - I like a whole lot of nothing! I have pretty much been doing that all week. You got some great gifts! I am sure you are excited to jump in and play!
I took down the decorations on Friday, but that tree is still in my house. Just waiting on DH to take it out. Only a few more days and I will attempt it myself if it is not gone. It is shedding like crazy!!
Sounds like some good resolutions for the upcoming year. I have thought a little bit about it, but not set just yet. I know I will continue to exercise and eat healthy (not like I have the last week - It has been horrible). I also want to remain positive in all situations. I worked on this last year and I really think it has made a difference in my outlook on things.
I didn't join any groups or anything for the cards and did not intentionally make cards thru the year. But looking back on my blog posts yesterday, I realized that I did make cards throughout the year. I just love the Christmas stamps and can't stay away from them. I guess that is my issue
Thanks Maggie! I have been taking the mucinex. I am thinking since my ears are crackly that it is likely an ear infection. I am still foggy. I think the mucinex has been keeping me up, as I am not sleeping. So last night I took 2 benedryl and slept like a baby. Felt good, but now I am clogged again. I don't know.

Carole, I am so glad you are back! I have been thinking about you! You have some awesome friends
Take it easy and get that infection cleared up and do what the dr tells you for PT. You will be hiking soon!
Good morning PJ girls. Slept in this morning and finally had breakfast and fed the kitties outside. I need to get dressed and get out to the grocery store. The fridge is empty.
I am having a bad case of blog blah!!! I have been staring at my blog for the last three days! I think your blog looks great. What do you want to change about it.
Mine will stay the same way unless I find a better header that will hold all my kitties. I'm just glad that I was able to get it together in the first place.
Hi AM,
Thanks for thinking of me. I have been ok, just taking it easy and hanging out. I haven't been around much, as I have been pretty lazy with this head stuff.
We went today and got a new laptop for me, but that dumb thing has windows 8 and has already frustrated me to no end. I gave up and gave it to my DH. If he can't figure that thing out it is going back. I have very little patience for computers. I just want them to work like they should. Sorry, I am cranky and venting.... URggg...

I think it looks great AM! But I understand sometimes it just needs to freshen up. I have been working on mine as well and adding things that need to be updated and removing things. What is it that you are not totally thrilled with?

9) Name something you are terrible at and something you are really great at!

10) Can you sing?!

Ok, so I think I am caught up. I hope all is well with everyone today. Anyone have any fun plans for the New Years? We are headed to my IL's to play cards and eat a bunch of junk food. It is always a good time.
SO a few questions for you all...
1. Are any of you fan club members here? If so, is it worth it?
2. I have been looking at the cameo shiloutte, does anyone have it? Like it/Hate it? Just curious. I had a wishblade several years back and lost big on that thing. It was difficult to use so I sold it at a garage sale. I don't want to repeat that again

10) Can you sing?!
I used to sing in choir when I was in grade school, through HS and in church, but I haven't really been singing much since I had my sinus surgery. I don't really have time now either since they practice after church every week, and I have family stuff twice a month on Sundays.
Sounds like a great Christmas Maggie! So glad you got to have a great time and spend time with your family. Also glad you made it home safely! The Grinch is my favorite Christmas move, eventhough I don't like Jim Carey at all. I think he did a fantastic job in that movie.
I also liked Jim Carey in The Mask. He's good when he can play at being something he's not.
We ended up seeing Les Miserables instead of Lincoln. We were going to see The Hobbit also, but plans changed. My GF and I are going to get together this coming weekend so maybe we'll see it then.
