Sounds like the perfect night to me. Warm bed and soup... Glad you didn't have to go. Stay warm this weekend!

They'll be here in town on Friday, Dec. 21. I bought the tickets for my sis, 2 of her grandsons and me to go. So today this girl at the office that I work with called me to see when it was because she had forgotten to put it on her calendar. I told her it was Friday, Dec. 21, the Friday before Christmas. YIKES! Then all of a sudden I remembered that I made my airline reservations to go to CA on Friday, Dec. 21!!!!!!!! I had completely forgotten about the concert. Ugh! And the reason I changed it from Saturday to Friday is because my DGD has her choir performance on Friday night and I wanted to be there since it's her first choir performance ever in her new school. So, even if I wanted to, I really can't change them and stay here. I have to go to CA. My sis is asking if one of the DGS's parents may want to go and use the ticket. Or I'll see if someone from work might want it. I know a couple girls that also like the show. I'm just bummed that I'm going to miss the new show this year.
Oh that is a bummer. I have never been, but I hear it is a great concert. I am sure you will have fun with DGD.

We just got new DT guidelines for PSC's DT. We are only really committed to join in 2 challenges in a 4-week month and 3 challenges in a 5-week month, so we could have 2 weeks off during each month, but I never do that. I love to play in the challenges, but it's good to know that the option is there if something comes up.
PSC sounds like a good DT to be on. Do you think you will apply for more or do you have enough on your plate right now?

We had soup and sandwiches for dinner too! DH had to work today which was supposed to be his day off. 50 hours this week - big sigh. Oh well overtime $ is good and we're thankful he has a job

My knee is really hurting today, so I gave up and called the doc that did the knee replacement. I have been trying to ignore the pain hoping it would just go away. The joint replacement surgery was just a year ago, and I can't walk, or climb stairs. I was doing so well, I just don't understand it. My appt. is first thing Mon. morning. I'm praying so often I feel like a broken record. I don't want any more surgery. I've been crafting like a crazy woman for the past two weeks to get ready for these two shows. I guess I was trying to bury myself in work so I could deny the fact that something is very wrong with this new knee.

Sorry about the rant, It just tumbled out of me.

I'm happy to say that DH brought my Halloween goodies to work and sold most of the items so the craft boutique last weekend wasn't such a bust after all. I have some items left so I'll bring them to my work on Monday to see if I can sell any more. YAY!

Nothing like a little spending money...
Dorlene, so glad he was able to sell some things for you!!! yipee!!

I just went out to say goodnight to the dogs and it's windy, a lot cooler too wow! Jessica said they were preparing for flooding from the hurricane. She's right on the coast. We're supposed to get some rain, but the hurricane is out in the ocean, it isn't even supposed to hit our coast. Big storm.

Hang on Pam!

It's pretty chilly and windy out today. I had to get out early to get to my hair appointment at 8 a.m. Then went to get groceries. The house still feels chilly, but I don't want to put the furnace on.

I"m on 2. I've thought about trying another, but I'm thinking maybe I need to focus on another thing I want to do - get published! Instead of doing more DT's, I really need to work on style and layouts.

Yes, OT is nice until it gets to be too much. I remember working that much many years ago - and on Saturdays, but so glad that I don't do that anymore. I need my time away from the office.

Ouch, so sorry about your knee. I sure hope that you don't have to have more surgery, but if that's what it takes, then you have to do it. You could probably put it off until after your craft shows.

Happy Saturday PJ Girls

I'm trying to stay busy today to keep my mind off this dumb storm! I've done just about as much preparedness as I can I think. (If you have any tips, let me know!!!) I was the last one out of the grocery store last night so I wouldn't have to fight the crazy people today. There was still bread and TP, but not much water. I've been emptying the ice tray all day and bagging it so the freezer will be full, and I've filled the fridge too. All of the stuff is picked up in the yard. DH will be home sometime tonight. I asked him last night how golf was yesterday and he said not too good. He's the warehouse manager at the local utilities and he was on the phone most of the day doing storm preparedness stuff. He said it made it hard to concentrate on golf.

I think I better switch out my summer clothes. It's going to cool off when this storm comes through. I think I'll go dust and vacuum, chase cob webs, and make a loaf of bread and banana muffins. If the hurricane blows my house away, at least it will be clean and smell good

Happy Saturday all! I've been up since 6:30 this morning. DS1 and his girlfriend and two little sisters and I went yard saleing this morning. I got the best deal on two pairs of boots. Ok, I don't know about you, but every year for Halloween someone asks, does anyone has a pair of white boots (for their costume) but no one does...I mean who wears white boots? Anyhow, this lady was selling a ton of really cute shoes. Slightly worn but still great condition. I really wanted these pumps but they were too small. In the boxes still (with the boot stuffers) were a pair of white boots and red boots. Dang, I can't remember the brand name and the boots are downstairs, but they were a size 8 and about a 3 inch heel. At first I passed them by since DS1's girlfriend said they were an expensive brand - after all I really don't need a pair of white or red boots, but then I asked how much...$3 for each pair! I'm talking brand new on these two! I snagged them up so quick! DD is a sailor this year so either one would be perfect for her costume. Last year she was Wonder Woman (which I'm sure she'll be again soon)! I was so excited! Besides a couple of empty frames, that's all I bought the entire yard sale adventure this morning! SCORE!

It's getting cooler here too. It's only going to be 70 tomorrow and was cloudy and windy all day. Maybe it won't get to you Pam, hurricanes often make a last minute jump from their projected path.

Pam, you guys are in my prayers. I hope everything goes okay and you all stay safe. The only thing you can do is make sure you have enough food and water to hold you over if you lose power. I think that is the main concern. We in my church stress having a 72-hour kit which includes more than just food and water. Make sure you have emergency supplies for injuries and your meds if you need them including your supplements. Also, make sure you have some ready cash and that your car is filled with gasoline. If you lose power in your area, then the gas stations won't work either or people will have used it all up.

Banana bread and muffins sound like a good thing to have on hand.

I'm getting my cold weather wardrobe out too. Started doing the laundry yesterday to freshen them up after being in storage all summer. Gotta finish that up today and then take the summer things (most of them) out of the closet and switch things out.

Good morning PJ girls. Hope everyone stays warm and dry today. I've got church an hour later today and then I plan to play some and do some picking up around the house. It's gotten totally out of control.

Good morning!

Score Dorlene on the boots! Maggie's right, even if only worn once you made out!

Pam, stay safe! Hopefully the hurricane will just be a lot of wind nd rain by the time it gets to you. Maggie has some advice.

SCORE!
I love a good bargain!!!! I went to a yardsale yesterday. I got a cute pink and brown purse for DD, and a cute Santa Figurine...$6.00 for both, and the money went to charity.

The storm is so big, that it's definitely going to hit us. It's been raining here since last night, and the wind is just starting to pick up. I've decided to go to my parents' house. They are going to my brother's house, because he is working (paid firefighter/Paramedic) and is expecting to be held over until at least Tuesday. They will be closing the Chesapeake Bay bridge when the winds reach a certain MPH and he won't be able to get home anyway. He has dog and cat, and it's in a good size town. I'd really rather stay home, but DD has been using a nebulizer for asthma quite a bit lately. If we lose power, the roads will be flooded and we won't be able to get the firehouse which has a generator. At least if we go to my parent's house and they lose power, we're withing distance of the firehouse and there isn't usually enough flooding in town to stop traffic.

My Mom has a fully stocked scrapping room!!!!! hahaha! I'm going to take my Copics and some Cricut Cartridges and a few other things.

I'll keep in touch as long as I have power

Carole, I hope there is nothing serious wrong with your knee. I will pray for a positive healing for you and no more surgery. Take it easy and don't over do it.

We have a rule here, no furnace until Nov 1. It was 64 in the house this morning, but we have one of those little heaters that does pretty well. This week is suppose to be highs in the 40's. I think a few more days we can make it.

I understand. Sometimes it is nice to create what you want. You will get published, your work is beautiful!

I have applied for 3 DT's in the last few weeks. I didn't get one, still waiting on the other 2. We will see!

Great find! I love garage sales, but don't really get to them much. DH does not like to go. One day we were driving thru town and a lady had a few tables out. I yelled "Stop - she has Stampin Up stamps". My DH looked at me funny and asked how I could see that far and know what she had. EXPERIENCE!

Pam, we'll be thinking of you. Stay safe.

I'm just taking a break from cleaning and crafting. Trying to do a little of both all day.

I'm glad you have a place to go. The hurricane is just off our coast right now, but our skies were clear and sunny today, and the wind died down. Tuesday, we're supposed to be much cooler down to the 60's, but no rain. We usually don't get rain from Atlantic hurricanes. Gulf hurricanes dump us with rain though.

Sandy is a category 1 some maybe y'all won't be hit too bad.
Take care Pam!!

We never turn on the furnace until December. Some years well into Dec. We don't have much winter here.

Okay! Crossing fingers and toes for Athina and the Dts and Maggie with publishing!!

Dorlene, I posted more stuff about the teabag and cookie holders on my blog today. I added more details about directions and tried to write about the ideas I've been coming up with and the punches and all I've been using. There are some nice papers on the clearance rack for 4 dollars I'm getting some of those! Plus I decided I NEED that lace ribbon too. How can you do tea themed stuff without lace?

I got together with the two friends who are doing the craft shows with me today. We sketched out our booth arrangement, worked out display ideas and helped each other with pricing.

I hope I make at least 50.00 at the little show next weekend. I need a new paper trimmer cause mine is dying, and the papers and lace ribbon, and some blender pens cause mine dried up and I threw them away I didn't know I would fall in love with coloring with them and the colored ink pads! I mean wow! Now that my friend gave me all the rest of the colors of ink pads. Coloring with those blender pens sure goes faster than with Prisma colored pencils. Not that they will replace my Prismas, but I will use them a good bit.

LOL! I woke up at 5:10, but stayed in bed until about 5:45. It's very chilly here this morning. Glad I got some cold weather clotes out yesterday. It's down to the high 30's this morning.

I'll be keeping you guys in my prayers that all goes well Pam. I hear on the news this morning that our electric company is sending crews up there this morning to help in the clean up and help restore power. You know that there will be a lot of power loss.

At least you'll be able to have some fun. Of course if you lose power, the Cricut won't be much use since you have to plug it in.
