I still have a wholesale license since I sell stuff at crops, but I can only order the sets. I'm trying to decide if I'd rather have a set or choose my own colors. I would rather have 12 colors that coordinate and can be used together instead of 12 random colors. Know what I mean? Also the Caio's are cheaper than that Sketch Markers. Why is that and which ones do you use?
I am in the minority, but I would choose your own. Many times the sets dont give you the colors you want to blend (at least for me). I looked around at different sites to see what colors were being used. Suzanne Dean has a good starter list here. https://www.box.com/shared/1i2zkq94sk . There are other ones out there. If you will color people, start with your E tones for skin, then work with your go to colors and get a few shades of those you like. I used the C and W's a lot for shading and shadows. They also help to darken tones. I have a little sketch book that I shaded in with different color combos. When I go to color, I pull it out to match as closely as I can to the paper I have chosen.

I do use the sketch, they don't roll off the table. I usually have 20-30 markers out at a time, so they are everywhere and I don't have to chase them. Like Nancy said, there are more colors in the sketch and they hold more ink. I do have the compressor and the sketch markers are used in there.

Go to You Tube and watch some videos to give you some coloring tips. That is how I started. It is very true that they say Practice, Practice, Practice. But those little markers become so addicting. I can also say I have used my aunts spectrum noir markers and they stink compared to the copics.

Another vote for Oozak also. Great service. Also I heard that the copic prices are going up after the first of the year again. So get them now.

Come on, jump on the wagon with us

Oh wow! I'd really like to participate, but I'm swamped trying to get enough stuff for the two craft shows made. A friend who does a lot of craft shows says she always sells as many as she can make of the candy bar wrappers. Sooooo I bought another big box of Hershey bars and more fleece and ribbon today. Guess I'm gonna sew 36 MORE of those little hats out of fleece.

I hope you felt well enough to get out and celebrate DH's birthday. What movie were you going to see?

I think it's hard to get out during the week too. I'm always tired when I get home and I just want to stay home.

I did get back to doing my Wii workout tonight when I got home. Boy was I rusty. I hope to be able to stick with it now. Just walking 30 minutes a day was just not enough to get this fat burning.

Is that the Anniversary Set? I was looking at that one, because I remember you saying that you had just gotten it. It was hard to tell by looking at the pictures if the colors were coordinating or not.
LOL! Right. DH should be buying this for you for Christmas and maybe your birthday whenever that is. It is the anniversary set and the colors are coordinated. For instance, there is B91, B95, and B99. They say when you buy Copics, pick out a color you like and then buy it at least one friend (coordinating color). I've never really looked at the regular sets because I just bought them individually at Oozak or Carpe Diem Store. The Anniversary set gives you a really good group of markers over a range of colors. The only ones they don't include are the gt.rays or the Blender Marker. Don't forget to get one of those. It's really important.

First day's challenge is up tonight, but you have 3 weeks to actually get all the challenges done to be eligible for prizes.

You are really busy, but if you get a minute and want to make a birthday card or Christmas or any occasion, pop over there and link it up for a chance at the prizes.

I swear, my mouse is possessed tonight. It keeps hoping all over my page and will jump backwards and I'm typing in the wrong place and if I hit the wrong button it deletes things I don't want deleted. Ugh! Not sure what has gotten into it but it better quit.

She is 19 and she is a feisty little thing. She is very confidant and always manages to hold her own. She works in a pharmacy and something happened the other night that has me holding my breath and on pins and needles. She was at her store (not working) running errands. There was a man in the store who seemed to be watching her. Turns out when she left the store he was sitting in his car waiting for her. He waited 45 minutes on her. She was walking since she lives nearby and he followed her in his car. She noticed him and changed her route and went and found people to 'talk' to so that she neither gave away where she lived or left herself open for him to approach her. She called her boyfriend who then came out and met her. When she got home she called the store and asked them to check the video cameras for anything odd. Well, while this creep-o pervert was sitting in his car he engaged in well activities he shouldn't have been engaging in in public. He was very blatant about it and they have it on camera. She has called the police and based on everything that happened they have assigned her a detective. My normally very confident, self assured daughter is now afraid to be outside alone. Whether this idiot had any intentions of approaching (Thank goodness it didn't turn out any worse!!!!!) her or not he has taken something from her. As a mother I am angry and petrified and angry...(did I mention angry!!!!!!) She carries pepper spray, but goodness! How do you let them live their lives when there is so much to worry about?! I am NOT a panic-y person and I try to keep things in perspective, but this has me feeling quite frightened. We spend their whole lives trying to protect them from everything from scraped knees to this very thing. We are driving down there today to spend the afternoon with her because she is worried about being alone while her boyfriend is at work. Grrrrrr!!!! This is my kid and to know that she is feeling afraid all the time is tearing me apart. She is planning on coming home for about a week, but not until next week. She knows a few people from work that are keeping an eye out for her and have offered rides to and from work, but I am still pretty worried. Sorry for the long vent, but I wanted to offer a little insight as to why I have been pre-occupied lately. I do promise to be more active and have all of my fingers and toes crossed for a healthy functioning laptop soonest!
Wow! I'm glad your DD is OK Am! That's a very scary situation & I'm glad she handled herself the right way.....you've done an excellent job raising her girl!

Well, this really sucks! Usually the letter/card just comes back to me & I remail it with extra postage. I thought I put an extra stamp on there though.....I know my cards have layers so I always mail them with 2 stamps! Oh well, this will be a good excuse to make another one

Good morning Jackie and the rest of the PJ girls.

Quiet here this morning.

I was busy last night putting up the first of my 4 days of cards for the PSC blog hop this week. I need cards so I signed up to play in all 4 of the challenges. Then I had to set up the poll for this week. I'm taking turns with another girl doing this and then doing the blog post on Friday for our weekly winner. Takes a lot of time.

The rest of this week should be good. My boss has gone off to Boston for the rest of the week for a Conference at Harvard, so it's very quiet. I'm trying to get motivated to get some filing done.

I know I do because I took pictures when I redid the kitchen and dining room. Just have to go to Snapfish and find one. I may have one on a flash drive. I'll look on those first.

I've been up since 6:00. Why? I have absolutely no earthly idea! I've been working but not with stuff that has much to show for the time. Plus I used nearly an entire can of DH's black spray paint to paint a science fair board.... and it looks like a 2 year old did it. Seriously - it's all splotchy. I mean how hard is it to spray paint something anyway??? I just looked online at Hobby Lobby and I can buy a new board for 4 dollars! geesh, I'm such a doofuss!

Happy Hump Day

I ordered the Anniversary Set last night!!! I'm so excited!!! I didn't get a blender though....will have to order one today! Then I remembered Maggie saying she uses special paper and ink. I didn't get those either....UGHH!!! Can you refresh my memory Maggie what kind they are?

I'm headed to look at the challenges....so excited! I finished a card for Twisted Tuesday yesterday, and need to get it posted.

WOW! I'm so excited for you!!!!!!!!! You do need to get the blender marker. Do you have a Michael's or HL close to you where you can pick one up, so you don't have to make a whole other order?? Just so you know, the blender does NOT blend. It pushes the ink around, so if you go outside the lines a little bit, you can use the blender to push the ink back in the lines. It's more of a corrector. Also people use it to make dots and stuff on their images. Most everyone who uses Copics using Tuxedo Memento Ink pads for them. Other ink pads allow the ink to stray outside the lines and you can't get it back in. The Memento Ink acts like a fence around your color keeping it in the lines. I've started using Xpress It Blending Card for my images when using Copics. I did just order a ream of Neenah Solar White from Ellen Hutson's store. Lots of people swear by it also. Gina K makes some good cardstock. I've also heard that Hammermill 80# cardstock is also good. The only one I know that is NOT good is the SU Whisper White. Don't use that. It's not good for alcohol inks.

I'm so excited for you!!!!!

Guess I'm gonna sew 36 MORE of those little hats out of fleece.
I sold those at my work craft show for $2. I sold every last one of them! Good Luck!

I love it when it is quite at work! You will be one busy lady with that challenge!

Whooo HOOOO!! You will have so much fun!

Maggie is right about the ink. The paper is really personal choice. I started off with Gina K. Then I tried the Neenah and the Express it. I bled all over those. Then I fell in love with Cryogen. It has a nice shimmer and works well for me. Good Luck. I can't wait to see what you color!

Today I am happy, happy, happy!!! Three of my four kids are at home with me! Yay!! My two oldest came in for a visit! (My youngest son is volunteering his time with the fire dept though and they have put him to work getting ready for our communities Fall festival!) If he were here the day would have been perfect! We are about to go pick him up though and ALL go to dinner!! So excited!! You don't even realize how much you miss them until they come for a visit!!

Happy, happy, happy!!! <------- Because I can!!! LOL

The detective assigned to my daughter's case called her today to say they found the creep-o pervert and he admitted to ummmm well being indecent in public and they have set a court date and want my kiddo to appear as a witness. I have mixed emotions...I want him to be penalized, but he knows where she works and lives and that worries me. Sigh.

That is great they caught him! What about following her? They can't charge him with anything like stalking her?
