Well I'm sitting here with bleach and foil in my hair....Oh Boy!!! My daughter and I are dying our hair pink for Breast Cancer Month. Hers is going to be pink on the ends, and mine is just a thin pink stripe.
My brother is a paid firefighter/EMT, and his county ordered Pink T-Shirts with their emblem and the breast cancer ribbon. The back says, Real Men Wear Pink. They are required to wear them all month. He bought my Dad one, and he can't wait until Monday to wear it! LOL He said, I'm going to wash it and wear it and wash it and wear it and wash it and wear it....all month long! November is Diabetes Awareness month and he wants me to find a diabetes shirt for him.
I went to a few yardsales this morning, but didn't get out until late and there wasn't any good stuff left. Didn't buy a single thing. Tomorrow we're going to a 40th Birthday Party.
Yesterday, I did a card for the {Pin}spirational Challenge Blog and need to get it uploaded. I hope I'm not too late! It turned out pretty cute!
I have always wanted to submit cards to get published, but I've never tried. Have you ever seen the magazine, Just Cards? It's my favorite card magazine. There aren't many ads and tons of photos. They have a wide variety of styles, and sometimes you look at a card and think....they couldn't find anything better than that to publish??? LOL It's alot of repeat designers...some gals might have 10 cards in 1 issue. They have the submission info. in the back....maybe I'll see what's involved. You girls have me inspired. It would be sooooo cool if we ALL got published!!! We'd be FAMOUS!!! LOL
Well DD says my bleach is done....onto the pink!
I love that you are going pink! That is so AWESOME!!!!
I haven't done much of anything today! I just started a book called Flashover, and it's really good....hard to put it down. I did a little laundry, and that's about it!
Here is a link to the submission info for Just Cards! They publish 300+ cards in each issue. They group them together by occassions....Just Because, Holiday, Birthday, Special Occassions, Thank You, etc. They print 6 cards on a page, and they coordinate the colors, so there aren't really any rules. Just Cards!
Here is a link to a girl that gets published in Just Cards! alot. If you look at her style, it's not real fussy. Come on girls....we can do it! Bev's Creative Path
I took my 13 year old girl kid to town yesterday and bought her a sewing machine! She is very craft oriented and clever about it, but doesn't love it! LOL I am hoping to broaden her horizons and get her pumped up about something! She picked out a pattern for a stuffed unicorn and we discussed making several and donating them to a children's hospital or Ronald McDonald House type of place. She tried not to get excited about it (she is a teenager), but was up in the middle of the night trying to get the thing threaded! LOL *fingers crossed!*
Awwww that is so cool!!
I have something she might be interested in these cute owls. I found them on Pinterest and I HAVE to try to make one. EfemeraInk: Wise?
My friend said if they go together easily enough I could make them for the craft show too and charge 10-15 dollars for them. They are soooo stinkin' cute!!!

I want to see a picture of you with your pink hair!!
How was your date? Congrats on getting into the show! That is awesome news!!!
I have never made the flowers before, have fun!
We had such fun out in the boat! We took it to the Savannah River, which a just a few miles from our house. The leaves here are just beginning to turn just a little bit, and the air just smells so good out on the river, you know clean and fresh.
We saw lots of Great Blue Herons and Egrets oh and DH saw a gator. I saw a HUGE fish jump out of the water. Where was he all those times I was fishing?
Pam, that rehearsal dinner sounds like something that my DH would LOVE. I bet you had fun helping her. One of the teachers I worked with a couple years ago had a baby shower when she was expecting a boy. She decorated the nursery in baby camouflage. Her husband is quite the hunter and really got into the decorating with that theme
Maggie, you sold some things? That's great! What did you work on after the Church meeting? So glad you won another prize!!
One of the girls doing the craft show with me came over today and we made ornaments with that SU ornament die. Pretty, but still took a while to make even though we didn't stamp, just used dsp. We went out in the woods and collected tiny pinecones and those sticky balls from gum trees. Then we scrounged in the shop for gold and silver spray paint and glitzed them up. As soon as the grape vines loose there leaves and dry a bit, we can cut them and make grape vine wreaths and swags
AnnMarie, did you find anything good at yard sales?
Jackie, kudos to you for submitting for publication!!!
Athina, your cards are gorgeous!! If I got published then so can you. I did it ten years or so ago when Somerset Studio was all the rage and I was determined to make things good enough to get in there, and I did – several times! The trick is to submit more than just one thing each time. All magazines like to work with groups of things, plus it gives them plenty of choices.
I've been on a crafty roll this week! We're going to a 40th Birthday Party tomorrow. I saw something really cute on Pinterest. What did we do before Pinterest???? It was an arrangement of lollipops with a sign that says 40 Sucks. It turned out really cute. I didn't make it elaborate since I was short on time.
Then I saw wine glasses (also on Pinterest) that had been glittered on the base and up the stem and part of the way up the glass. They were SO COOL! I got the stuff to try it....not sure how it's going to work though. It will have to be sealed, but I'm not sure what to seal it with so it will be washable. I'm using Modge Podge to get the glue to stick. Any ideas?
I'm so envious of those of you who can sew. If I could have any super power, that's what it would be! haha!! I don't have the patience I like to see instant results. Can't wait to see the unicorn when it's done.
Carole - I wish I had grapevine! I love decorating them.
Just a quick message to let you ladies know I've been out of it lately and in a lot of pain. Went to the ER on Wednesday night/Thursday morning thought I was having a heart attack but it turns out I have pleurisy. inflammation of the lung lining. So very painful! Good morning PJ girls! Will have to read back later.
Dorlene, I really feel your pain. I had pleurisy one time in my life a number of years ago and I remember how painful it was. It hurts with every breathe you try to take. Rest and get well. Sending prayers your way.

Sending big hugs and lots of healing prayers! I've never had pleurisy, but I have heard that it is VERY painful. Get lots of rest and follow doctor's orders. I hope you're on the mend soon.

Glad you had fun Carole! It is always nice to spend some time with DH
So have you learned how to drive the stick shift yet?
I am working on it. I have driven my dad's several times. I want to drive DH's because they are quite a bit different, then Styme once I can get up this big hill that he has picked out for me.
I just won the Crafty Sentiments Challenge and I am getting 3 digi's! Whooo Hoooo!
Woohooo!!!! My prize from the {PIN}spirational Challenge Blog was 7 digis from DigiGarden! It was so much fun shopping. I never heard from the girl from when I won at Perfect Sentiments last week.
I didn't get much done today. My GF came over to pick up some adhesive and get some paper that I had for sale. I haven't seen her much lately. She was here for 2 hours! I have something to upload, but after I ate lunch, I couldn't get my Mojo going.
I'm sure you are going to be quite busy until that craft show. When is the date for it?
Nov. 3 K of C craft show
Nov. 30- Dec 1 Christmas Craft Show (the big one)
It's soooo hard to know how many things to make!! You know like post its - we have 30 done done.
Junior legal pad holders, about 30 of those are done too.
Kinda seems like we may need some more. But I hate to make too many cause then you put out money making stuff and it doesn't sell and you have to store it.
I guess after the small one day show, if a bunch of something sells, we'll know to make more before the next show.

We need pictures Carole!!!
Really? I'll e-mail her and see if I can find out what happened. Was it Jenn or the lady from the store where you won the prize from?
I noticed ya'll come one here in the evening and stay up late when I can't stay up late anymore!
Sorry, but I'm sssssoooooo glad I no longer have to get up early!! I get to sleep in, well 7:30-8:30 is sleeping in to me after getting up at 5:00 every day for 30 years!

It's hard to know in advance what people will buy! Hopefully they buy everything!
We went to a small art & wine festival on Saturday. It was juried craft show and there wasn't one single paper crafter there! They were all expensive things except the two jewelry people. I can see spending $12 for a pair of earing but everything else was super expensive.
I am working on it. I have driven my dad's several times. I want to drive DH's because they are quite a bit different, then Styme once I can get up this big hill that he has picked out for me.
You'll get there! My dad had a stick shift and made sure I learned how to drive it. Once you learn, you never forget.
I owned a stick shift for a while then didn't drive one for years until DH replaced his car. Then we had a stick shift again. We made sure DD learned how to drive it. Now that is the car she drives.
Pam, sometimes they don't contact you when you win. They expect you to check back and contact them if you see you won.
Whimsy Stamps is having another blog hop but I was blog hopped out yesterday after leaving love for everyone. Maybe I will go back and try my luck again!
