That's awesome about the weight loss! You go girl!!!

I'm happy to hear that dinner went well too...homemade potato salad sounds so good right about now!!!!!

No this is not my post for tomorow . slight case of insomnia. Nancy, those rosettes you are so fond of, is there a link with instructions ? I thought i might like to try them next . that paint dot net thing .....the results were cool but i was getting ahead of myself and getting frustrated. the most recent card was a stamp, some sponging, a SU punch, ribbon and a tape runner . @Maggie congratulations. good nite ladies. hopefully i can go back to sleep now

I'll check around if there are any actual instructions for the rosettes. I just cut a strip of 12x12 Cardstock, anywhere from 1.5-2" wide. Just depends on the overall diameter of the finished rosette. Then I use a scallop border punch on one side. Next, I score the strip and fold accordion style. The tricky part is holding it flat while trying the bring the two ends together to form the circle and glueing them together. I use pop dots in the center to add embellies and also on the back to adhere to my layout.

Does that make sense?

Brandy, here is a YouTube video. It was th first one that came up when I googled making rosettes. The onky difference, she did not use a scalloped border punch.

I got a notice from the Bank that we're closing on Friday, the 26th. She said I could pick the time, so I decided on 11:30 around my lunch hour which is fine with them. Then I got home and had an e-mail from the concrete company telling me that the installation is scheduled for 10 a.m. on the 26th! So both on the same day. I'm hoping that it will all work out. I'll be here at 10 for the concrete people and then leave for the bank, take care of the closing and then come back and finish up with the concrete people. Not sure if I'll make it to work that day or not.

Hello Everyone! It is my Friday night as I do not work tomorrow We have a fun weekend planned....Tomorrow night I am going to a stamping event -- the club meets once a month. It is $3.00 and you make three cards. I have been wanting to go and finally got signed up and will get to do it. I am excited. It sounds as if it is set up like make and takes are at convention. It is at a local church (I have attended their scrapping/crop nights before). Saturday is dinner at my Aunt's and Sunday is the Big Brother & Big Sister Alumni picnic. Hectic -- but fun I hope you all have a great weekend. I will be visiting the blogs over the weekend.

@Maggie----Congrats on the 10lbs. That's great! Happy for you.

You are more then welcome Brenda! I'm loving Bloglovin myself....I appreciate the emails everyday & sometimes twice a day!!! Yep, google reader is done as of July 1 & now I'm starting to see the pop ups when I'm going in to accept comments about upgrading to google+ for a better experience---whatever! I don't understand that setup...it's very confusing to me!

Anywhoo; when I was uploading my cards here, they were for challenges so if I remember correctly they were just uploaded with a tag attached so they would go to that challenge album. If I made any of my own...I don't think I did~ they would be maybe for a particular set or Holiday.

Sounds like the perfect weekend! Hope you have fun a the M&T. Dinner that you don't have to cook is always great. So are you a Big Sister? I don't think I've ever heard you talk anything about that.

I do like BlogLovin also. It's great to get that e-mail and then see some of the blogs that I follow that I don't ever go visit so it helps me to get around to visit some of my followers too. Yes, I believe Google Reader is done as of July 1.

I really need to take some time and upload a bunch of my cards into my gallery on SCS. I do have some albums set up for various specific things. I like having it like that if I want to go back to look for something I don't have to scroll through pages of cards to find something. I have my Monthly Challenge, Teapot Tuesday, My Favorite Things, and I can't remember what else.

I'm off at lunch time today to get a pedicure. My poor toes are so bad. I don't do manicures because the polish doesn't last and my nails don't really get long enough.

Hi Paper Bloggers. It's been a rough day. I took Chancey to the vet today to have him put to sleep. He did say that the cancer was not as aggressive as he thought, but that we'd be in the same place in 3-4 weeks so I didn't really see any reason to put off the inevitable especially since he hadn't been eating very well over the weekend, has lost weight and had started sneezing a lot. The vet seemed to know that so I think it was also related. It's going to be hard not having him with me every night. He always slept in my bed up by my head.

Thank you ladies. I appreciate all the kind thoughts.

Nancy, what's on your agenda for May 5-11? Is that just end of year school stuff with the kiddos?

Hahahahaha.....DH called from work wanting to know if anything was going on May 8-9 cuz HR was trying to set up days to hold interviews and he is one of the managers conducting the interviews. those days are normally his days off and I need him home!

I'm like "noooooooo"

Where do I start, between DD needing to be brought home from college, kids doctors vists involving hospital stay, neighborhood garage sale. Every single day something is going on!

When it rains it pours, Nancy! Let him know you have a ton going on that weekend and could use his help but understand. Then add you'll be taking a couple days off to yourself when it's all over with. Gives him a heads up he'll need to cover the house while you run away LOL

I know I won't be able to go, Brenda. I really need to save for a trip to Texas - hopefully next spring. That's going to be an expensive trip but a necessity.

. as for why i couldnt I still dont know . apparently its something to do with my firefox profile . i can post from billys (DH) IE and Cora's Firefox . i have uninstalled it, upgraded it ,done all the normal stuff . still doesnt work . they say a dead end is just a great place to turn around. so when im just reading i use my firefox and when i want to post i use IE

I have that issue too but it's between IE and Chrome. I have found that apparently it isn't necessarily the browser but the SPEED. IE seems to like my Hughes Net speed more over Chrome. I didn't have the problems with Chrome while traveling that I do here at home. I'm hoping that changes when we increase to G4. That seems to be when I began having issues... when they amped up to G4.

So like you, I'm using IE (which I dislike) for some things and Chrome for others.

The tricky part is holding it flat while trying the bring the two ends together to form the circle and glueing them together. I use pop dots in the center to add embellies and also on the back to adhere to my layout.

Does that make sense?
My SIL taught me a neat trick. Make/ score your rosette strip. Do the folding then tape your ends together (Don't worry about laying it 'flat' at this point. It will look more like a cup). The put a spot of hot glue on a 1" circle. Working quickly so your glue doesn't set up on you... off to the sided, carefully fan your rosette out flat. Hold it in place and move it over to your glue spot. hold it a couple seconds for it to set up. Works like a charm.

I have a few albums. I wish I'd started an album for TeaPot Tuesday and my studio rather than just uploading them. I may change those posts when I get 'time'. Hehehe

Brandy, I wasn't sure if you meant a challenge amongst ourselves or another blog hop.

'frustrated' is not the word that comes to mind LOL

I know I'll be out on the challenge. We get the granddaughters around May 23rd and will have both (5 and 18 mo) until mid June... then just the 5 year old from then until mid July.

It's all about Grandma time LOL
