Hi everyone! Hope you all had a nice weekend!
I had a killer migraine all day yesterday and today was catch-up! I wanted to get a ton of laundry done, but then a load was not even half dry and the house smelled like we had a fire in it, I pulled the plug. Literally! I called the appliance store where we bought it and they are sending someone out on Tuesday. Uuggh! I can not believe how quickly the laundry piles up!
I had some exciting news I entered one of my cards to the challenge over at ODBD and can you believe, I actually won???! I was so shocked! So, I am feeling really good and now think I really will send in some cards to some magazines
Other than that, it's "same old, same old", lol! I have not done any card making all week! Aaaack!
It's late and I have to get up early. So, I will try to visit everyone's blogs tomorrow.

I myself haven't been active as I have a lot going on around here, getting ready for our homeschool year, etc. I hope to get back into the swing of things soon!

You are so sweet to remember and to ask about this. And YES! Can you believe it?! I finally got my courage up enough to send some in, lol! After winning the "Shining the light" award from OurDailyBreadDesigns, and then getting my scrapbook page chosen as "page of the day" over at ChristianPaperCrafts, I decided I would send some cards in to a magazine. There was one that had a deadline coming up, so I gave it a shot. Now I am trying not to think about it as I (oh so anxiously) await to hopefully hear that one (or more) will be accepted!
I know that this is my first time sending cards in and therefore I should not be discouraged if none is accepted, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be disappointed.
There was a magazine I really wanted to send some in to, but their submissions requirements meant I would have to re-size my photographs. I am afraid I have no idea how to do that and so I could not submit to them But hopefully I will learn to do that someday and can send some cards in to that magazine as well.
So how about you? Any of your gorgeous tags being submitted anywhere?

I am sorry you did not make it with your submissions Certainly not for lack of talent or beauty! Your tags are all so lovely! May I ask what magazine you submitted to? Maybe they should be sent to another? And how do you know for sure? I thought they only contacted you if they do want to use something. When is it safe to assume they will not want something (other than waiting for the issue to hit the news stands, lol?)

I think what happened this time is I might have forgotten to put in a list and directions on how to make it. I don't know....

Well, I am a huge believer in the power of prayer, so I thank you very much for that!
I LOVE Somerset publications! I have some cards I am thinking of sending in to them for Take Ten, but I really, really love Stamper's Sampler and their other magazines with cards. I was totally thinking that should be where you should send your tags.
As a matter of fact, I once went to one of their warehouse sales. Soooo fun- but so easy to break the budget, lol!
Hi Sarah, the paper on the tag is music paper, I downloaded and printed it out, spritzed it, crumpled and made it ruffly...the other is computer paper with my homemade shimmer spritz on it. It is very shiny, wasn't sure I'd like it that shiny but I think I do!
I have been meaning to ask what your email is as I have looked and looked and can 't find it anywhere, may I have it please? Thanks!

Oh, Chris.... my heart is heavy for you. I have kept you and your family in my prayers; that letter your brother wrote on your Dad's behalf that you had on your blog was so moving!
It is so hard to lose a parent or family member. I lost my Dad, then my Mom and then most recently my brother this past Christmas Eve- all in a 5 year period. It's so tough to go through and there are many stages of grieving. I have found that my faith has been my #1 sustainer, and my husband, children and my friends have been such tremendous support and help to me. It sounds as if you have a wonderful and loving family who will help each other through this.
I will keep you in prayer as you travel down this difficult road. If you want to PM me and chat please feel free to do so. Sometimes just talking a bit can help.

awww hun, I am sorry to hear of this too as it's something I myself am going through too. I know I need to be more in prayer and find out what the Lord is wanting me to do. I will pray for you too my friend....hugs.
Unfortunately I must leave this group as well...since my father passed away suddenly in September I have not picked up anything crafty...I just only finished a swap that needed to be completed a few weeks ago...I apologize for not contributing more or being a better thread girl...Your blogs have been wonderful inspiration and I have loved looking at everyone's blog posts...you are an incredibly talented bunch of ladies that I look forward to catching up with in the future...thank you all for letting me play.
Oh Debbie- I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I pray for God to comfort you and give you His peace during this difficult time.
If I may be so bold, I'd like to just say one thing: take a break if you feel you must, but don't give up your crafting. You may not feel inspired now, but in time I would be willing to bet you will. And when you pick up that paper and ink, scissors and embellishments, you just may find it is a good outlet and diversion for you. Don't have any expectations, but don't limit or deprive yourself either. Take it one step at a time. Grieving is a process. And you have to take it as it comes. (I am saying this all from personal experience.)
Hang in there. And I am sure the others will agree with me when I say this: we want you to take care of yourself. And just pop on over here when you want, okay? We'll be thinking of you and will be here (((Hugs)))
Oh hun, big hug to you, I am so sorry to hear of your loss and no need to apologize for anything, it's a blog sweetie, not a big deal. God will see you through this. I have been going through some things of my own over here and don't feel much like crafting anymore either. I have been working on some tags that have to be sent off but other than that, not a huge interest. I do agree with Sarah though the feeling to craft again will come back, maybe God's preparing you for something else.
This might help, it does for me....I had a friend share with me the other day that when things get overwhelming, panicky or whatever the situation is and she doesn't know what to do, she starts to thank the Lord for everything, expresses her love for Him, praises Him for everything, etc. and does it until the feelings subside. And repeats when the thoughts decide to pop back in. She and I are going through similar things with our oldest children right now and she said Cassandra it's powerful. Let me tell you, last weekend I had something come up and the stress and overwhelming fear came over me with some things of my oldest son, I remembered what my friend said and I did it and the feelings subsided, I continued when the thoughts came popping back up and the next day the Lord blessed me with having our son stop by to chit chat. I was like wow, now had I allowed those feelings to continue to overwhelm me I would have been a wreck and who knows what the next day would have been like.

I checked out all (I think!) of your blogs and was sad to see so many of you have not posted for a long time. I hope you'll be getting back to it soon. I know it was kinda hard for me to fit the time in, but I am glad I did it. I had forgotten how fun keeping it up can be
