CRAFTY GALS Blog Group ~ caring comments ~ fun chit chat ~ monthly challenges
REQUIREMENTS! You must!!! read and agree to the understated to be a part of our group.
1. You have to have a blog (it being a blog group that's a given I guess) and you need to be a serious blogger. At least 1 post a week. More is WONDERFUL!
2. You MUST visit your fellow Crafty Gals at least once a week and leave comments on their beautiful creations. Comments to a blogger are like that pat on the back to a child that says "good job kid!". I love knowing someone cares enough to visit my blog and then comment about the post.
3. You MUST create a blog roll with "Crafty Gals Blog Group" as the title and all your fellow Crafty Gals blogs listed.
4. *We will have 1 challenge a month. Each challenge will need to be posted to your blog on the 5th of each month. On the 5th, we would all have our creations posted to our blogs for everyone to "ohhh" and "ahhh" over These challenges will be mandatory, but they are not meant as a "RULE" so much as inspiration for the rest of us to see how you interpret the challenge.
As far as what you make it's up to you. I love to scrapbook but I make cards too and 3D projects, hair accessories, bookmarks, etc. etc., etc. All paper crafters welcome!
5. We know life is busy and around the holidays and Summer time are the hardest to check in but I ask that we all at least check in twice a week to our thread. I want us to get to know one another and we can't do that if we don't post to our group and say "Hey" every once and a while.
6. I want this to be a close knit, CLEAN group. There's enough nastiness in the world, I want this to be a nice, welcoming environment for Gals to come and feel comfortable. So no meanies allowed! *giggle*
****7. After 1 month (30 days) of inactivity without checking in or updating of your blog, you will receive a private message from me. If you do not respond to that private message, you will be dropped from the group . If you respond and you have a "life issue" and need some time, I will put you on a "leave of absence" for up to 30 days. If you do not check into the thread within that 30 day leave of absence, you will be dropped from the group. (that is a total of 60 days, a good amount of time to find out if you need to continue with our group or if you need to give up your spot for someone else to join).
If you respond to my private message and come back to the group with updates immediately, "no harm, no foul" all is well. But, adhere to the rules of 1 check in a week and 1 update a week like the rest of the group following that check in.
If you respond to my private message and cannot find the time to participate any longer in the group, it will be your responsibility to leave a comment in the group letting us know that you need to step down. If that is not done within 10 days of your PM response to me, your message will be shared with the group and you will be dropped.
Please know this is how it has to be to continue our group, to keep us going. Inactivity leads to doubt and wonder and we don't need that.
So, to break the "requirements" down....
1. Have a blog & post to it at least once a week.
2. Visit your fellow Crafty Gals blogs at least once a week.
3. Create (on your blog) a Crafty Gals Blog Group, blog roll.
4. Participate in the group's monthly challenges.
5. Check into the group's thread at least twice a week.
6. This is a nice, clean group. No meanies allowed!
7. Be active...if something happens contact me so I'll know what's going on.
Ladies, if you ever want to send a PM to all the GALS, here is a list you can copy and past into the recipents line:

January ~ Anything Goes! Free for All! Let's see what you got!
February ~ **February 5th Challenge**
Show some "love" to Jeanette this month. I know that Jeanette loves Nature, patterned paper, recycled things and things you would find in the Forest. You can use any of these ideas or go to her blog and CASE (copy with a few of your own changes/touches) some beautiful card or project from her blog. In your post, just link to her blog the project that you CASED.
Make sense? Let me know if you have any questions.
March ~ **March 5th Challenge**
Show some love to Carolina this month. Carolina is going through some tough decisions right now regarding a move to the States. She and her family need our thoughts and prayers. She hasn't had time to get crafty lately. That is sad because she is such a wonderful crafter! Her creations are out of this world.
Carolina love "My Favorite Things" stamps, bright colors and mixing different patterned papers on one creation...just to name a few. Please visit her blog to be totally inspired! Please CASE (copy with a few of your own changes/touches) some beautiful card or project from her blog. In your blog link back to the project you CASED. If you just went with inspiration and not one particular creation on her blog, that is fine too
April ~ **April 5th Challenge**
Show some love to Barb this month! Yes, Barb is our GAL for April. Barb has a great style. I love her layered panels on her creations. She is not afraid of color either. She has a great collection of wonderful sentiments also. She loves to travel, loves the outdoors and has many adventures walking, biking, and hiking trails. Go check out her blog to find inspiration. We love ya Barb!
May ~ **May 5th Challenge**
Show some love to Tracie this month! Tracie is our GAL for May! She loves using die cuts and her Cricut. I love seeing her use her glitter stickles/glues. She shows us some cutie, cute critters on her blog! She makes beautiful monochromatic creations. She also likes making altered art and scrapbook layouts. So, go check out her blog. Look at all the cute eye candy and make something in her honor! Love ya Tracie!!!
June ~ **June 5th Challenge**
We are showing some Summer love to Lela this month! Lela is our GAL for June! Lela loves bright colors. I do believe orange might be one of her favorite colors to create with. She also likes using bird and butterflies in her creations. She does beautiful things with banners and embossing folders too! Look through her great blog, find something you love and get busy! We want to show Lela how much we love her!
July ~ **JULY 5th Challenge**
We are showing love to Zella this month! Zella is our GAL for July! She likes to create with cute images like animals and flowers. She loves (I believe) bright colors. She makes beautiful inspirational cards also. Look through her beautiful blog, find something you love and get busy!
As an extra challenge this month, I know Zella loves sending her cards to be used at crisis centers and the like so if you could send your card (and a few extras if you're feeling froggy) to a worthy cause (like cards for a cure, cards on a mission, operation write home, etc), I know that would put a big ole smile on Zella's face.
August ~ **August 5th Challenge**
We are showing love to Sassy this month! Sassy (Joan) is our GAL for August! She loves bright colors, flowers and ribbon. She makes the prettiest altered items. I mean have you seen what she did with that rock! Hello!!!! AWESOME! I have also seen some beautiful journals on her blog. So, there are many, many, many things to inspire you for August. Go look through her blog and get inspired!!!!!
September ~ Sharon is our Gal of the month. She is our card making Queen! She creates faster than anyone I know. It amazes me how many cards and kits she finishes at one retreat. She creates lots of soft, floral cards and loves using patterned paper. Let's here it for Sharon! I can't wait to see what everyone makes to honor her.
October ~ Me (Melina)......CASE me.
November ~ Diane is our GAL of the month. She has a very pretty style. Please visit her blog to see all her yummy creations.
I'm still here!!! Sadly will be gone at the end of the week for another funeral Ronnie's uncle passed away suddenly today while cutting the grass. We will be heading to Montgomery on Friday. Two funeral in two weeks is very disheartening!
I have lots of cards to upload to my blog and will get them done this week. I also need to update my blog roll with the members that have dropped recently.
Please remove my name from the list. My camera is broken and we haven't had the money to replace it. Currently my focus is finding a job. It isn't fair to you. Hopefully my life will return to "normal," and I can visit all of your wonderful blogs for inspiration.
Thanks for letting me be part of this wonderful group, I've really enjoyed it.

Hi Ladies.... I keep reading and rereading the rules for this group and trying to decide as I know I have not done all that is required. That bothers me, personally. I hate committing to something and not giving it my all.
Howdy! It's raining here in the ol' Buckeye State. But that's good because it cools things off. We haven't put our window a/c in yet so the last couple days have been a tad bit warm. Glad to get some relief.
So what projects is everyone working on these days?

Hi Ladies--it has been a lonnnnnngggggg day for me! It started at 3:45 with the alarm going off as we needed to leave for the airport at 4:15--and I think I really slept very little anyway........................ By the way--the temperature was 80 degrees when we walked out of the hotel at 4:15--Yuck! We got to the Houston airport by 6:00 as the other three had a 7:30 flight. We were on a 9:30 one, but went to see if we could get on an earlier one. Sure we could--for a $75 change fee--even to go stand-by! No Thanks!!! So, we had some breakfast and headed to our gate. That is where the wait started as we waited until close to noon for the plane from San Antonio to arrive as the weather was bad there. Finally left and was not sure we were going to make a connection in Chicago--we did with a few minutes to spare............... Got into Madison around 4:30 and then drive home. We flew out of Madison instead of Milwaukee as sometimes it is a much cheaper flight--even though we have close to an hour drive.
It is going to be an early-to-be-night for me, that's for sure.
Wow, what a day Barb!!! Yep, those temps get hot fast. It was 79 when I went to mom's this morning to stay with my grandmother while mom and Calvin went to church and eat with friends. You don't want to know what it was when I left later around 2pm.
Went to a fairly new antique place here in town and about roasted. I was looking for a few things for presents. Well, they had their doors wide open (both the big wide doors) as a vendor was moving in and whew it was hot. I was dripping with sweat when we left. With the doors wide open like they were a bird flew in..looked like a sparrow...and landed on Ronnie's shoulder. The lady in the store told him it was an Angel that had come to visit. If she only knew, that was the perfect thing she could have said since it was a rough Thurs-Sat for him. He just returned Sat evening from the funeral for his uncle. He took his dad (92 yrs young) so I stayed behind so they could have this time. He likes to antique so we had planned to go to a couple of sites but after spending time walking around that one with no AC both of us were drained. I had hoped to get some float time in the pool this afternoon but no sooner did we get home than it started storming. Hopefully, tomorrow will be sunny and in the pool I go
All these "out of the ordinary" low temps have my allergies in a mess! Usually by June I have no problems but this year, it's still cooler than usual and the honeysuckle and privet bushes are just starting to bloom around here and they have me sneezing my head off! UGH!
