Hi Ladies!! Sorry I have been MIA. OMGOSH!!! Can life get any busier??
Of course, Murphy's Law... just as I start a 100 card challenege, it all breaks loose with a vengeance LOL

I did 3 similar cards today. SIL needed a Wedding Card for her sister's nuptuals coming up, so here is what I CASEd... I wish I could give credit to the designer but I just do not remember where I got the original pix. I think here on SCS. I have had it on my computer for a while. I am sorry.

Summer Wedding Card by MomToLissa - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

So I am at 85 cards to go, 15 completed. I need to get motoring.
I have an explosion card/scrapbook to do tomorrow for a retirement gift for a friend to give to a coworker so I will count that as one and maybe get thru a few more tomorrow.
Spring has sprung here in Western NY. Temps were gorgeous Th and Fri. This week should be in the mid-60's. My windows need cleaning badly... but I think they will have to wait another week.

DD has her last club volleyball tournament tomorrow, so I will be MIA at least until Monday afternoon.
Hope everyone has a fabulous and restful Sunday.

sharon - i ALWAYS do that. i have a ton of tutorials and samples that I wanted to case/copy years ago but never remembered to save the source. I'm trying to be better about it now... and if i cased something that i have no source for, i just say so.

i'm exhausted today. we didn't do much of anything but i'm still exhausted. hoping to scrapbook tonight but it all depends on the kids and their temperament. right now it's not looking too good.

I did,,,,found an embossing folder I really wanted at Michaels and used a Hobby Lobby 40% off coupon on it.......Dentist took 15 minutes as they could clean and glue the crown back on and I was good to go.....so glad as I had convinced myself I would be having an extraction.
Then,,,,rain and hail inWichita where I am to give daycare to new grandson......got soaked taking two boxes of diapers to the car....good thing the diapers werewrapped in plastic because if they hadn't been I wouldn't have been strong enough to lift the boxes....

Good Morning Ladies!

Pansy, I'm so glad to hear the dentist visit went well!!! YAY!

I'm rushing through the threads - I have much too much to do today! EEK!!! I leave tomorrow morning for a week (and need to get things ready to go - plus things in order here for my two guys who will be staying home without me).

I won't be on the threads while I'm gone, since I'll be much too busy. I'll see all of you again the end of next week!

Hugs!!!

Guess we're all "taking it easy" between doing 100 cards. I'm working on other swaps I'm in.

Hi Kel, Hi Janet....I will start my second 100 next week and post then...This is my last week of taking care of Mr. H and when I go home on Saturday it will not be to pack and come back on Sunday or Monday. I am having fun with him and it has helped his parents out a lot but I must confess that I am looking forward to being at home and being able to create cards again.

Are you SURE you'll be OK with this being your last week of taking care of Mr. H?
BTW - we haven't seen any more pictures (more recent) of Mr. H!

Hi Angie--
Snow at my home town rain and wind here in Wichita.....looks like a miserable day to be out and about so I am glad to have my indoor job and electricity for my laptop. It is 30's here and not going to go much above mid 40's the weather guys say. hard freeze tonight for my home in western Kansas.
A county just north of my Garden City home received 5 inches of snow.....
All my teacher friends had to dig out the winter clothes for their weather charts in the classrooms.

Have taken time to set goals for my second round of cards.
1. Continue to use up odd cardstock for bases and only use DSP from stash.
2. This time around I am going to do some different sizes of cards -instead of just the standard A2 size. SO----25 cards using Western stamps/papers/ribbons etc.
25 cards using snowmen stamps. 25 cards using wildlife stamps( you would not believe how many I have) and 25 cards using uninked sets.
3. Make a mixture of Thank You, sympathy, and birthday cards .
If I can stick with these 3 I will have a bunch of fun doing these....Not that I didn't have fun last round but this round will have some new twists.....

great idea to set some goals before we start Pansy. Don't know that I will set any goals for cards made, but I need to set some for finishing the reorganization of my craft room.

You're right Angie!! It feels strange that I went to A.C. Moore today & got some things for a card I'm making a friend and for a swap I'm in.

But then I'll be making projects and cards with things I have - NOT new things!!
Only thing I plan on getting are adhesives.

I wanna be like you ladies. Look at you all , setting goals and making things. I really need to get my act together and get in there and just craft. I made a whole 21 cards so far this year. It is so sad.

Don't be sad. I haven't even made 21 cards this year.

Janet when I buy refills for my ATG I buy a box of a dozen at a time, so I shouldn't even need adhesive for the 100.

OK, So I reserve the right to edit, update or change these as the need arises, but so far, I have:

1) sort non-SU! card stock in ROYGBIV, both 81/2 x 11 and 12x12.

2) finish reorganizing and purging wood mounted stamps.

3) sort and purge card kits (anyone know someone who could use some of them?)

4) price all purged stuff for RRS.

5) sort all completed cards and send box to OWH.

6) catch up on Christmas cards for CCC.

Usually when I get those boxes for the ATG I get them @ Michael's using a coupon. Now that I have a new phone & I can show the coupon on the phone, I'll be going in more often...
Hmm....

my ATG takes the 1/2" and our Michael's only has 1/4" so I buy them on-line from the Tape Depot.

This weekend, I am going to go through this box that I have in my corner. It contains everything that was on my stamping table when I moved. I just put together my expedit, so I want to get everything in/on it and out of boxes. I did Roy G Biv all my Bazzil and I reorganized all my SU cardstock and I put all my PTI stamps and dies in the plastic boxes, so I do have some stuff organized, but I really need to do something about how I store my stamps. They are all just there on a shelf and I just look at them, get overwhelmed and then don't stamp anything. I have to fix that. I unmounted everything and they are in those SU clear cases, but they are all jumbled up, no rhyme or reason. I need to find a system. How do you ladies have yours set up? I need some organization inspiration. Then maybe I will do something.

Just checking in on you ladies . . .
Glad to hear your trip went well, Jeanette and that you are back safely. Sorry about the weather Angie and Pansy - it was near 75 here and sunny today - my cherry and apple trees are in blossom, so please don't send your weather this way. Prayerfully spring will come soon.

Good idea to set some goals - something I never got around to do except use up some of the stash. Will check in again soon.

There was a lady from the RAK forum who had problems with her hands so people used to send her colored images and kits so that she didn't have to work so hard to make cards. if you're a member of RAK maybe ask there??

Oh and I ditto ATG refills from the tape depot. I buy them a case at a time because shipping can be so ridiculous to hawaii that it doesn't make sense to buy small parcels often. The last time I bought was in '11 and I am almost down to my last box or so, time to reorder.

Don't know if this will help. But
about half my stamp collection is SU sets so those are in clamshells or DVD's labeled as they came from the company. For those stamps that are non-SU,,,,I put them in SU clamshell boxes by type/theme (western, wildlife, dogs, birds, foliage, seasonal sentiments, snowmen, and so forth) then I place them in my cabinet(DVD storage cabinet purchased at Hastings) by the same themes--so that all my snowmen are in one group, western in one group, sentiments in one group,,,,even the seasonal ones as the box says Winter sentiments, fall sentiments, and so forth. I also mark the SU boxes when the sets retire with neon colored small dots and then if I feel that I have too many stamps those are the ones I pull and look at to see if I want to sell them.

Ladies, you are such an inspiration to me! If I weren't such a frantically busy mad-woman (Thailand lessons to prepare) I'd get busy re-organizing my stash!

Angie, my ATG can take 1/2" tape but I use the 1/4" in it just fine. My ATG is the one from framing supplies so there may be others that won't take the variety of tapes.

I'd say you do a great job anyway.....
I have this thing....when I have too much stuff it overwhelms me and I can't even use it.
I started learning and doing leathercraft when I had a summer job working at a camp. I continued it until about 9 years ago...but about mid-through I took a look at what I had and sorted it into two piles......and sold one pile. Then I began making leather goods again and taught it to 4-Hers and had one child who really took to it and he will take all the materials/tools I have to use since I don't do it anymore.
Same with my photography.....you do have to upgrade sometimes but I had shelves of books and magazines and equipment.....I have donated some books to youth interested in Photography, gone through and torn sheets out that I know I will use, and recycled the rest,,,I also sold about $700 worth of equipment taking a store credit which equaled $350 and now I have room on the storage shelves.
When I began stamping, of course there was a huge "need to have" list of tools and consumables.....and I bought them all.....LOL! But I have now found my "style" and so I have been having sack sales and garage sales and almost have it whittled down but the release from having too much stuff has opened flood gates of creative ideas...I have ideas I will never get too I am sure.

Thanks for the suggestions Pansy, I should do something to mark whether or not they are retired and what the theme is. I think I am just going to pull everything out, lay it on the floor and sort by theme.

yup, I have the yellow 700. I was told I needed the little plastic adapter to use 1/4" tape in it. do you use an adapter in yours?

Kelly, I know who that is. She will be getting a package from me once I get everything organized.

Karla we put in garden Tuesday night. The seeds should be ok, but I'm betting the tomato and pepper plants are toast. I have had tulips in for 7 years and have yet to see them bloom. They get frozen off ever year.

Jeanette you had us all inspired the last round. Glad that you are home for now and can check in on us occasionally.

I have most of my stamps sorted by theme. I have two companies (PSX and Stamps by Judith) that I leave together by company. Don't know why I do that, but it seems to work for me. Pansy I like the dot idea. I think I will use that for the ones I am wishy washy on. Put a dot on them if I keep them and if I haven't used it and pulled the dot off by RRS next year they get purged. I really need to go through the scrapbook idea mags and books and get rid of a pile of them also. What do you do with the pages you pull out to keep?

Mine is a red one...I can't think of the model number...but I can use both sizes they said.....I don't have to use any adapter.

I have a magazine file box where they go in folders labeled with topic(lighting, depth of field, wildlife, macro) and if it is just a tip or something that doesn't even fill a page I put it in my photography journal...which is something I just started this year to keep track of shooting trips and little things that I want to remember.....I put red stars by tips and ideas that seem important...so I can find them again...but otherwise it is like a photography diary--where I go, what I shoot and whether I keep any of the images.....I also started a stamping journal this year too. same premise....date--what I did that day if anything and techniques I tried or what ever.....keep track of what I am buying in it too but not a bookkeeping type,,,just a chatty listing of items.....

Knowing this week was going to be crazy busy and that I needed to make two Mother's day cards I grabbed a packet of paste embossed panels I found in my cleaning frenzy and my scrap tote and took them to the darling BF's this weekend. I got four cards made yesterday! Probably going to use a bunch of those panels this round to make some easy cards.

I did two apple blossoms and two wisteria. I used black on one of each, following Jeanette's example. You can really tell the difference!

Those look great Angie....I have to get 4 cards ready to go tomorrow...two for daughters who have given me 3 grandchildren, 1 for a daughter in law who is mom to my newest Grandson..Mr. H...and 1 for DH's sister--because I come up with a reason for him to write her every month...I make the card and he has to write....she suffers from mild demetia and has to live in assisted living since her DH passed away a year ago...this way I know my DH is communicating with his sister once in a great while.
