I had something in the trade forum and after I bumped it, it disappeared. Any ideas?? There wasn't any foul language or anything. I just wanted to trade something.
Moderator Note: To other mods, please keep this thread active, as many members add their new questions to the bottom of this one. Thanks!

You still might find it. I've lost threads only to find them again! LOL!

I posted it this morning. I bumped it and it disappeared a few minutes later. I tried posting another bump from my recent posts and it said the thread was invalid.

I looked up the rule regarding this and found this passage:
SU! Classic (hinged lid only) and Craft (linen cover only) Pads may be listed for sale, regardless of whether the color is current. Discontinued ink colors can be sold in any style pad. Items that are currently sold by SU! such as 12x12 repackaged cardstock and WWC are considered current whether in new or old packaging.
So, in order to be within the rules they must have been for trade only and you had to have list posted of items you are looking for. Here is a link to the rules: ** NEW BST GUIDELINES **
ETA: I would have been happy to remove the sale part if someone would have told me. I think it's sad that the thread was pulled without even giving me a chance.

I have no "authority" as a mod, but wanted to add that the rules are clearly posted. I know how you feel about being given a chance, but if mods PMd every person that posted trades/sales in violation of the rules, it would be a full time job. KWIM? They are volunteers and are only doing what they can/should to keep the site running and within the guidelines of SU.
All you have to do is repost keeping within the guidelines. I am sure someone would be willing to trade you for them. It is a sought after item since they are all in one tin.

They changed the rules quite some time back. I believe the current policy is that violations are removed by a mod, no warning given. They used to post a warning, but maybe too many people ignored it or left the post in place and resorted to selling via PM where the mods couldn't see.

Well, like I said before, I will have to post them on ebay. I only wanted to trade, but I'm not going to bother re-posting them. I have NEVER broken a rule on SCS. I also haven't done many trades. This being said, I wasn't aware of the changes. I posted something that I thought was RETIRED. I am not trying to start a war because I hate being in the middle of confrontation. I NEVER get involved with heated threads either. I'm going to let this go now and will put my stuff on ebay as to avoid breaking any more rules.
I posted some TAC stamp sets last eve for Sale. I cannot find the thread it seems it has disappeared. Any suggestions?
Forgot to mention- I have retired and used sets from TAC-I contacted TAC and they confirmed USED sets can be sold and posted to a group of stampers- demos just can't sell (new or used) current sets on Ebay.

how do I bump my post to make it re-appear at the top?
Thanks!
go to your profile info. On the L hand collum there should ssay something like list subscriptions. Click that you should find your post in there. Click the thread your looking for and just reply to it with a BUMP and send. You'll be back at the top again!

Hello trading friend! I had the same thing happen to me this week -- I had a trade list posted and it vanished. I do a search for my user name in that forum and it doesn't come up. I don't think I broke any rules either. I know how much time you put into making your listing and you are a terrific trader, Leanne!! I think I'm going to keep my posts out for awhile, too, and maybe just approach people I know, or those who have an ISO listed, on an individual basis. Sometimes that's easier than fielding questions and offers, etc. Take it easy and I hope we trade again.... Nancy
To answer this question, about what would make a thread disappear, hear are some reminders from the BST Guidelines:

Update your original post as needed to reflect those items sold or traded (look for the Edit button on the right hand side of your original post).
Create only 1 post either in the Buy/Sell or the Trade forums. Please do not post in both forums.

I saw that most crafting supplies are allowed but would posting some nice, all most new crafting books and/or stamping/crafting magazines be ok? I am out of room for them. Lucine
ok, please help me be clear, from what I am reading, even though the stampin kids ink pads are retired because they were current colors I won't be able to find a set to buy through the buy and sell even though I am a current demo? Is that correct? I desparately wish I had purchased them before they retired them.
I have seen some people post pictures on their sell page.
How are they doing this?
I have TAC sets to sell and many people keep asking me to see pictures, I was wondering how to post them right to the sell list.
Thanks,
Nancy
stampinwithnan: if you go to edit your ad scroll down to the bottom of the page and there should be a box that says manage attachments, if you click on that a box will come up and you can choose a pic from your album, hit open and then upload, they will come up at the bottom of your thread as thumbnail attachments, you can add three pics to each thread. Hope this helps...
Had a thread for stitched grosgrain cranberry crisp and Vintage Violet ribbon dissappear between 10am and now - wondering if I relist or what. it was in buy/sell
Do they dissappear after a certain amount of time?

Yes, a weekly purge is run and threads will be removed when they are 28 days or 4 weeks old.
If a trade goes bad, I.E. I sent my items and she confirms she received them, but her items were not received and she has stopped communications, is there someone who wants to know about these traders?

Yes. When you enter the BST forum (or any of the sub-forums), on the top of the right-hand forum is a box, Search Forum. Click on that and enter what you are searching for.
Can I post links to retired sets I am selling on eBay if I include and descriptions in addition to the links? I read the guidelines and it said that I couldn't include ONLY links to ebay - so I'm a little confused.

Absolutely not! We do not allow linking to ebay at all and if we find an ebay seller listing in our forums, the threads are deleted.
