CLOSED & FULL - SPRING JAMS

SPRING JAMS!!!!!

This round is not going to have any themes, you just do what makes you happy and see where it goes from there. That's the exciting part.

Artist Trading Cards – Just Add More Stuff! A cooperative art experience!

This type of swap relies heavily on *individual responsibility*. Each participant puts time, thought, creativity and postage into the piece and is *trusting* their swap partners to follow through.

Please only sign up if you can turn the cards around within 10 days. By doing so we should be able to wrap the swap up within a two month period.

I know that life sometimes gets in the way. PLEASE let me know if you run into a problem so that I can find an angel to take your place.

Each swapper is responsible for the shipping of the materials to the next swapper in their group. If international shipping is a problem as it’s hard to get to the post office and such, please state USA only.

HERE ARE THE NEW RULES REGARDING JAMS. PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY!
Any group not started within 10 days once the group is full is going to be cancelled. Please try to start your group immediately, if the rest of the people in your group have not PM'd you their address send them a PM reminder if still no response let me know and we will put someone else in the spot. If you do not get your group started within the 10 days, you will be banned from future JAMS. (if there is a problem due to health or vacation please advise the thread and we can switch the names around and move you to another position, we understand that life happens.)

It is EXTREMELY important to post frequently. It is the only way as the hostess that I can keep the thread updated. If you don't post regularly you will be banned from the next round of JAMS.

How does this work? Here’s the run-down, and if uncertain, please ask!

Position 1:
*Creates 4 ATC sized backgrounds/ bases. These must measure standard ATC size – 2 ½ x 3 ½ and have some element that you designed. (This does not mean sending a solid piece of cardstock, it must be a background that starts the creativity!)

*Creates 4 white or light colored card backs. These are for each artist to sign and will be attached to the back of each ATC by the person in Position 4. Be sure to include the Group number on this!

*Creates the tracking sheet with the names and addresses of all the participants in their group.

*Mails the 4 ATC works-in-progress, the backs – after signing them, and the tracking sheet to person in Position 2.

*Writes a post that they are on their way to position 2.

Position 2:
*Adds more stuff, keeping in mind there are 2 more artists to add their vision to the piece, so leave some room for them!

*Signs the back

*Mails the 4 ATC works-in-progress, the backs – after signing them, and the tracking sheet to person in Position 3.

*Writes a post that they are on their way to position 3.

Position 3:

*Adds more stuff, keeping in mind there is one more artists to add to their vision to the piece, so leave some room for them!

*Signs the back of the cards.

*Mails the 4 ATC works-in-progress, the backs – after signing them, and the tracking sheet to person in Position 4.

*Writes a post that they are on their way to position 4.

Position 4:

*Puts on the finishing touches to the ATC – the finisher!

*Names the ATC at the top of the card backs! These gems gotta have a title! Signs and then attaches back of the ATC’s.

*Mails the other 3 ATC’s to each person in their group. The addresses of the three swappers are on the tracking sheet

*Writes a post that they are complete and postal to the group.

Finds the perfect place to display their new cooperative ATC!

If we can keep these on the slim side, the person in Position 4 can just mail each swappers ATC’s in a regular card. If you add a bulky item to the ATC, please consider tucking in a couple bucks to help out with postage for the person in Position 4. I think the postage should pretty much even out.

Timing:
After receiving your envie write a post to let your group know where groups ATC is, please try to add your special touch as soon as your creative muse whispers in your ear! 10 days max.

Wanna Play?

Cool! What position do ya want? Then PM your address to the person in Position 1 of the Group you are in. Once 4 swappers are signed in, the fun begins!!!

Sibermax and Paper73 are cruising Australia, they had sent me a PM before leaving to sign them up. You will not see postings from them for a few weeks, but they will get right on these as soon as they return. If you sign up for those groups be aware of this. If you need their addresses to get started PM me and I will give them to you.
Thank you for understanding.

KOneill 03-20-2013 07:31 AM

Looking forward to these spring JAMS!! I'll have 4 spots please, one in each position. Since I am signing upi early is it possible to mix up the people that I am with?

Thanks so much!

If anyone is wondering about the placement of spots...I am trying to make it that you are with different people. I will open more groups as needed.

KOneill 03-21-2013 10:45 AM

How about some questions to get this thread chatting?!

How many places have you lived in in your life?
A few places in Mass growing up, but all within 20 miles of eachother.

What's the weather out where you are now that it is 'spring'?
Spring?! LOL, we just had another snow storm here in the boston area yesterday and another one coming in a few days. It's still winter here! ;)

What is your favorite project that you are working on right now?
Probably my Moo's. I had no idea how much I was going to like them and keep coming up with idea for them. Glad I still have a few more weeks, I still have a few ideas left!!

texasyaya 03-21-2013 11:00 AM

1. My husband is retired Navy so I've lived several places. I was born and raised in Texas and came back home when he retired in 1988. We have lived in Virginia, Maryland, Scotland and California (San Diego and Hayward in the Bay area).

2.It was spring last weekend, this weekend we are having a cold spell.

3. I've finished all my projects but one. I'm hoping to find something new soon. I'm thinking about taking a crochet class. I loved the moo's and the inchies.

Jmaraul 03-21-2013 11:07 AM

1. Lived in Kentucky all my live.

2. It's trying to be spring here. The trees are starting to bud out, there are daffodils along the roadside and the air is sweet. But, it got cold again yesterday :(

3. The "techniques" category in the PAT swap has been the most fun for me lately. Since it's whatever I want to do, it lets me play with some things that have been on my to-do list. Acetate, coffee filters, zentangles and 3-D projects are among the current ones. I'm looking forward to my Downton ATCs too - they are next on my list after my PATs.

nsmac1 03-21-2013 03:24 PM

woot woot I'm in for 4 spots 1 in each position please. Thanks Jabauer for the heads up :)

Well, I got group 2 all done and ready to pack up last night so I could mail it today when I went across the border ... then I looked a little closer and Sabrina is next on the list, oops, guess I don't have to go the US to mail to Canada ... and the post office in my town is not open on Saturday, so I will mail on Monday

SandyinPCB 03-23-2013 11:20 AM
