ATC JAMS – A Cooperative Art Experience! (originally hosted by Aramanthine)
What is an ATC JAMS swap?
Artist Trading Cards – Just Add More Stuff! A cooperative art experience!
This type of swap relies heavily on *individual responsibility*. Each participant puts time, thought, creativity and postage into the piece and is *trusting* their swap partners to follow through.
I know that life sometimes gets in the way. PLEASE let me know if you run into a problem so that I can find an angel to take your place.
Each swapper is responsible for the shipping of the materials to the next swapper in their group. If international shipping is a problem as it’s hard to get to the post office and such, please state USA only.
How does this work? Here’s the run-down, and if uncertain, please ask!
Position 1:
*Creates 4 ATC sized bases. These must measure standard ATC size – 2 ½ x 3 ½.
*Creates 4 white or light colored 2x3 sized cards. These are for each artist to sign and will be attached to the back of each ATC by the person in Position 4.
*Creates the tracking sheet with the names and addresses of all the participants in their group.
*Mails the 4 ATC works-in-progress, the 4 2x3 cards – after signing them, and the tracking sheet to person in Position 2.
Position 2:
*Adds more stuff, keeping in mind there are 2 more artists to add their vision to the piece, so leave some room for them!
*Signs the back of the 4 2 x 3 cards.
*Mails the 4 ATC works-in-progress, the 4 2x3 cards – after signing them, and the tracking sheet to person in Position 3.
Position 3:
*Adds more stuff, keeping in mind there is one more artists to add to their vision to the piece, so leave some room for them!
*Signs the back of the 4 2 x 3 cards.
*Mails the 4 ATC works-in-progress, the 4 2x3 cards – after signing them, and the tracking sheet to person in Position 4.
Position 4:
*Puts on the finishing touches to the ATC – the finisher!
*Names the ATC at the top of the 4 2x3 cards! These gems gotta have a title! Signs and then attaches the 4 2x3 cards to the back of the ATC’s.
*Mails the other 3 ATC’s to each person in their group. The addresses of the three swappers are on the tracking sheet
*Finds the perfect place to display their new cooperative ATC!
If we can keep these on the slim side, the person in Position 4 can just mail each swappers ATC’s in a regular card. If you add a bulky item to the ATC, please consider tucking in a couple bucks to help out with postage for the person in Position 4. I think the postage should pretty much even out.
Timing: After receiving your envie, please try to add your special touch as soon as your creative muse whispers in your ear! Preferably in a week or so. 10 days max. Holidays are right around the corner, so I understand time needs to be somewhat flexible now.
No requirements. No themes – the theme will evolve as the ATC progresses through the cycle. Just let the work-in-progress spark your creativity and go with it! Have FUN!
Wanna Play?
Cool! What position do ya want? Then PM your address to the person in Position 1 of the Group you are in. Once 4 swappers are signed in, the fun begins!!!

Welcome, Janice and Bonnie! I'll add more groups as we grow, of course. I tried to spread names around so that we all get to work with different artists.
This sounds like fun, I am a first timer at this....but will not delay forwarding to next player...
Please add me as position 2 in one group and position 3 in one group.
Thanks, Kathy

Oh boy! This party is in full swing!!! Did a full restore on my computer so I'm late for the fun but do toss me in a group as the 'finisher'. Anywhere is fine, but I'd love the 4th spot.
Terrie, thank you for taking over as captain of the JAMS!!! You're a doll!!!

Wondered where you were! Computer problems can be sooooo frustrating. Got you down as finisher for Group #4, which completes that group.
Terrie,
This is a template I found on a blog forever ago. I filed it away for 'one day' and completely forgot about it! Stumbled upon it today doing some file clean up. It's very neet-o.
Did you see the new Tim Holtz dies that are coming out in April? Soooo cool! I want!
Group 5 is on its way to Tina. I didn't have Kathy's address before I went to the PO but she has since PM'd me so Tina, if you need it, I can provide it.
