In the past I would say they would be in the $3 range to mail. Terrible isn't it? And Jen, I think the rate is the same across the board, no matter what city you are in. No wonder I cut back on sending more Christmas cards. Oh well, if we pick and choose our swaps, then I think they are affordable a few times a year.

I have the dies too, Paulette, and also a scalloped square die and a frame die that are 1 inch. The only drawback is doing one at a time. I just use my paper cutter with a blade, made by Fiskars to cut my bases. It works really well. I cut one inch strips of light cardboard (the kind they send with my stamps from the usps works great) and then cut that in 1 inch pieces. I waste what is at the end because it is hard to hold them and get them accurate. I haven't had any problems with that. I don't use punches on anything thicker than cardstock, they just don't do it. And some of the 1 inch square punches are just a hair larger or smaller. You would think an inch is an inch is an inch, but sometimes it isn't. I just will not pay what you have to pay for the precut chipboard inchies (plus tax or plus postage). A friend gave me a package of those one time and they really are great, but I am a tightwad.

I'm thinking of redoing my sunshine inchies before I mail them out... I don't like them very much.

It's kinda fun, I got my 100 done and I have worked on other projects, then do a few inchies, make an atc, do a few inchies. Rather, rinse, repeat. lol Fun to kinda bounce back and forth. That isn't my normal way of crafting but I kinda like it!

Dena, that is short-attention-span crafting. Works great for those of us with ADD...or kids.

I was going to add my comment on Dawn, but I like yours better Jane. It gave me a good giggle.
How are things in your part of the world. The daffs and tulips are coming up and the heather is all in bloom. The trees all went into bud this week too. Love this time of the year, when the sun comes out. But the rain is still in the forecast. Phooey.

rates also go by distance traveling! I have lots family West coast and it costs more to send same items to them packaged exactly same as to grandkids in FL (east coast same as me) that is why different zip codes really matter a lot.

We're still under a couple feet of snow here. DD said... don't think we're having a snowday tomorrow just last night. Ah alas she will be off to the school bus in 10 minutes.

I do feel for all of you in the snow country. I can't believe it is still whacking the daylights out of you and in two days it is supposed to be spring.

I'm afraid, I am going to back out of the 100 Inchie swap. We are sick with the flu and I am swamped at work. Very sorry Meerkats, perhaps something together again soon.

Yesterday woke up to two feet of snow on my van and we weren't even expecting anything as we are so far north. I would have to say deepest part of my yard is 6 feet high, lowest part is 4 feet (of snow)

I just can't imagine that much snow. I have lived in the South all my life and we don't get much snow.

I see you live in Georgia too. We really don't have any snow to talk about, do we? Did you have bad stuff your way yesterday? We had lots of rain, and near us they had lots of hail. Himself went out today and said about 2 miles from us there were lots of cars with plastic over the windows and lots of damage. While the storm was going on we went out on the porch and saw a small amount of hail about the size of corn kernels, but that was all.

It is really nice here. Lots of azaleas and Bradford Pear trees and daffodils and all sorts of pretty flowers. We had a storm blow through here with lots of rain and wind etc. and a few little hailstones, but we didn't have any damage. Just cleared the air and made everything bright and shiny and fresh. Love it.

I did not have much rain yesterday but it was powerfull for a few minutes and very scary. I did not see any hail. The damage was north of me.

Wind chills predicted in the -20s for tomorrow---I'm so over winter. 100 inchies completed---just working on a hostess gift and they will be postal.

Boy, Jen, I sure don't miss that kind of snow since I moved west. Mind you it took some getting use to the constant winter rain. "Use to" is probably not the word I meant, more
like tolerate and put up with it. We get spring, which was a novel concept way back when. Now I am a seasoned veteran of westcoast living and fully expect it. LOL.

I actually went out Saturday and sat under the pergola for a bit. The air smelled like spring was coming. Clear and sweet. It was lovely.

Mine will be mailed Friday. I still want to make a few more, different ones with my new stamps. I have 100 made but I did them by 5's and I want more variety.

So glad they made it there.... Did I send enough return postage??? I think I did. We are indeed the Great White North these days, at least my province is. I think Norma is skipping through fields of tulips and daisies.

Well not quite yet Jen, but the daffodils are about ready to burst open, the crocus are up and the heather is all in bloom. The hydrangea leaves are about ready to pop as well.
But did we have a cracker of a storm yesterday. Windy and my young granddaughter said to her mum. "it looks like an ocean out on the road mum". The rain was beating down and the water on the road was being swept sideways in ripples like the sea. Fortunately we bypassed falling trees or electrical outages, but Vancouver Island took a hard hit.
So glad to hear my inchies arrived.
