Good Morning Friends!

Have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Isn’t it a great feeling to know we survived Monday already?

... ... ... ...

Today is National Cherry Turnover Day,
World Sauntering Day,
Race Your Mouse Around the Icons Day , (I don’t make this stuff up, really, I don’t!)
Radio Commercials Day,
Crackers Over the Keyboard Day,
Bow Tie Day,
St. Hermes Day (honoring the Patron Saint of Insanity),
and Dream Day.

Enjoy your holiday of choice today!

Please excuse the interruption, but here’s a
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
reminding us of the Wisdomof Speaking FEW words.

A shy little 4-year-old came in to the dentist for his first cleaning and check-up. The hygienist tried to strike up a conversation but no response.

After the cleaning, the dentist was called in to do the final check. The dentist tried to strike up a conversation as well. "How old are you?" No response.

The dentist then asked, "Don't you know how old you are?" Immediately four tiny fingers went up.

"Oh," replied the dentist, "and do you know how old that is?" Four little fingers went up once again.

Continuing the effort to get a response, the dentist asked, "Can you talk?"

The solemn little patient looked at him and asked, "Can you count?"

I was just going through old posts in the thread and saw this, it may be a silly newbie question, but what is an Inchie?
Also is anyone else having an issue with the printing of the mini calendars? Three of each are double printing thus making them un-usable. I just flipped the paper over and printed on the other side too, to get the one extra I need, but I was just wondering if it was just my stupid computer! LOL

I have not been able to get March or December to print without the double image. I tried on my home printer and the one at work also.

I printed the whole year and didn't notice anything odd but that being said I didn't look closely, I'll have to look when I get home.

What's been happening for me is the month prints but in the upper left corner is a mini month super imposed over the other one. It's weird. But if you don't look closely you might miss it.

Love the story of the kid at the dentist, Jeanette. I am a retired Dental Hygienist and I remember funny things about kids too.
I had a little girl in the chair one day and she said "Look, I got new tennis shoes".
I said "Those are really nice."
She said " I gots some more new ones too and they are at home and I can only wear them to Sunday School. They are shiny black and have a thing on top with a buckle."
I said "Oh, they are Mary Janes."
She thought a minute and said "No, they are mine."

Hmmmm...

I have tried printing on several different printers and all I get is a little fuzziness. That comes from the PDF file converter converting from one format to the other. It's the same setup we used last year with no issues.

I didn't have any double printing or extra month parts showing up, so I'm not sure what you are seeing. That's also why I gave everyone the option of using Marilyn's calendars and shrinking to fit from their own systems. It just takes a little longer to cut, paste and format each calendar to get the size you need for the ATCs.

Jamee I've added you to Group 5

Betty I'll look at your two months as well to see if there are any issues I see from this end.

Sybil - would you explain Inchies to Jamee? You are the resident expert (and I am needed in the garage now....eek!)

Oh, Jamee, you must try inchies! They are wonderful little 1 inch square works of art.
First you take a nice 1 inch square piece of chipboard or something similar, and you put a pretty background on it. Then you add a main image. Then you do some embellishing with whatever you like. They are so much fun. You can get lots of ideas in the SCS gallery here:
Inchies Gallery: Templates for Creating Inchies - Inkadinkadoo & More Stamps - Page - Splitcoaststampers
There are also tutorials on the internet. Just be careful when you google the topic and be sure you put in Inchie Art or something similar. You can get very different ideas otherwise.
But check them out and see if you don't just love them. I do.

So you don't make your "inchie" out of cardstock? Needs to be something quite a bit heavier? I haven't worked with chipboard, so I don't know what that is. Guess I need to see one of these in person. Thanks for the info. I had no clue what they were either....well maybe I still don't

You can use 2 or more layers good cardstock, but they really need to be sturdy. And use good glue specific for what you are gluing. They are little so they are a little more difficult to work on, and you want them to hold together when they are handled. I just don't like it when inchies are flimsy and fragile and come apart or the jewels fall off. Sometimes I use things like cereal boxes. You can buy Inchies already cut and they are really nice, but I just don't want to go to that expense.

The best thing to invest in if you want to get into inchies is a !" square punch. Be careful though as some manufacturers measure their punches in the diagonal. Re-purposing cereal boxes is a great way to make a sturdy inchies. Twinchies are fun too---they are 2" square.

Don't have all my supplies here, so am making my lists for when we return to Maui next week - to change my cast. Then when I return to Kauai I will be good to put my pictures into reality. So glad that I love the planning part!

Paulette is absolutely right. And you need to measure the punch because sometimes they can be a "hair" less or more than a real inch. Although I don't know anyone who would actually measure them, it is important.

I'm so glad you said that. I saw a 1" punch at Michaels last Friday and it was measured on the diagonal. Had it in my basket and then thought I had better wait, so I put it back. Glad I didn't get it.

Sybil, thank you for the tip on using cereal boxes. Hubs will love it, he can buy cereal so I can have the box. Sounds like a win/win situation to me.

I use all sorts of things. Himself asks me all the time things like "Is it OK if I throw this aftershave box away or do you want it?" Of COURSE I want it. It has silver on top and blue metallic on the bottom and can be used for SOMETHING. Junk mail is a wonderful source of materials. Some catalogs have great little pictures in them. You will learn to look at things very differently. When I am in an inchie swap, I usually have a piece of cardstock with a one inch square punched out with me wherever I am. I will take that and hold it over whatever I see and decide if it will make a good inchie. Nobody questions what I do any more, they just say "Oh well."

Wow who knew such a simple question would get that much of an answer! It sounds very interesting though and I might have to look into it for my next swap!

Thanks ladies you have been very helpful!

Joyce I took the calendar I made last year, changed the month and days, then sized it to what I need for this year and I'm good to go.

Since the 5th group is not filling up very fast, is it ok to take 2 months? Would I then receive 2 calendars? If that is the case, then I would also be happy to do November.
