A man took his son fishing one day. After a few hours in the boat with not much to do, the son started asking his father some questions. "How does the boat float?" he asked.
The man thought about the question for a moment, then said, "I don't really know, son."
"Well, how do fish breathe underwater?"
The man scratched his head. "I guess I don't know the answer to that one either."
"Why is the sky blue?" the boy persisted.
The father replied, "I really don't know, son."
The boy started to worry that his father was getting upset at all the questions. "Do you mind me asking questions, Dad?"
His father immediately reassured him. "No, of course not, son! If you don't ask questions, you'll never learn anything!"

A class of High School Seniors was required to take a CPR course. They used the well known mannequin victim, Resusci-Annie, to practice. Typical of most models, this Resusci-Annie was only a torso, to allow for storage in a carrying case.
The class went off in groups to practice. As instructed, one of the classmates gently shook the doll and asked "Are you all right?" He then put his ear over the mannequin's mouth to listen for breathing.
Suddenly he turned to the instructor and exclaimed, "She said she can't feel her legs!"
BTW, the new color scheme of my post today means I've opened a new swap. I hope you like the colors I've chosen - I'll be using them for the next 4 months.

Why do you think our men become old poops? No dancing, no activities, just the TV screen and How its Made or heaven forbid The Jerry Springer Show! Really!!! So I watch Dancing with the Stars. Fabulous this season, isn't it?
Oh, thank goodness DH doesn't do Jerry Springer ... however he does spend hours playing solitaire or poker on his computer ... his TV addiction is Storage Wars, Auction Hunters, Pawn Stars, Storage Wars Texas ... you get the idea
I don't know what he watches since he has his own "Man Cave" but Himself stays in there for HOURS watching TV. If I go in there to talk to him he gets up to go to the bathroom. No communication. Oh he has times that he comes out, like meals and if he wants something, but mostly it is Charlie and me who converse. Clarlie and I are watching DWTS too, Norma. The first night I told him he had to leave the room when Pamela Anderson was "dancing" because she was a nasty lady. He just got up and went into the dining room, SO funny. We were happy that she was the first to go.
But it is incredible what they are doing this season. I was disappointed at who went home last night, but they would probably have gone home anyhow before the finals. There are a couple of them who could go any time and it would be OK with me......

DWTS was fabulous on Monday night---if the stars really had that much artistic control of their performances, then they should be in charge every week. Not so sure about the voting---seems like something is really wrong there. I think it even showed on the contestants' & judges' faces when they announced the results.
It is going to be an adventure to see who wins this season. There are several who are right up there with the best, and I don't know who would be my favorite. I really thought the ones who were voted off should not have gone this week. I was OK with the first two weeks, especially the FIRST one.

A guy was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a very dark night and in the middle of a storm. The night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly he saw a car coming toward him and stop.
Without thinking about it, the guy got into the back seat, closed the door and then realized there was nobody behind the wheel! The car started slowly; the guy looked at the road and saw a curve coming his way. Scared, he started to pray begging for his life. He hadn't come out of shock, when just before he hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and moved the wheel. The guy, paralyzed in terror, watched how the hand appeared every time right before a curve.
Gathering his strength, the guy finally jumped out of the car and ran to the nearest town. Wet and in shock, he went to a restaurant and started telling everybody about the horrible experience he went through. A silence enveloped everybody when they realized the guy was serious.
About half an hour later, two guys walked in the same restaurant. They looked around for a table when one said to the other, "Look John, that's the dummy who got in the car when we were pushing it."

Well, I inwardly cheered when Miss Anderson was voted off. (even if she is a BC girl) Too full of herself, and when the camera wasn't on her, did you catch the bored expessions. And playing with her hair like a teenybopper. Come on, do act your age.
Miss Palin should be next, and unfortunately Miss Alley won't be a top contender. Sorry to see Helio go, but look who is left. They will all be heartbreakers over the next few weeks. But the dancing is way and beyond this season. So good.

My feelings exactly, Norma. I wondered why Pamela was on there to begin with. She was so dramatic and breathless and boo hooing, and Charlie and I just thought she should go home right away. I'm not a Bristol fan either. It surprised me when she stayed so long the first time she was on. They let some really good dancers go and there she was clumping around forever. I think Kirsty is very gutsy and does a pretty good job, but she just isn't in the same class dance wise with the others. I liked Helio and Drew both.
At least we don't have to put up with Cloris Leachman. Mercy.

Well, if I don't get on with these calendars, instead of yacking, I'll be cracked up when
you drive over me with your pink tractor. But first I have to drive out this afternoon, to get my beauty treatment. I must have my hair coiffed, don't you know. I haven't the faintest idea why. I come home with the same man I left with. But at least I still have my hair, while his bald patch is getting bigger every day. Even grd-dtr giggled her head off this morning when I said Papa had to have a "hair" cut.

A couple was arranging for their wedding, and asked the bakery to inscribe the wedding cake with "1 John 4:18" which reads "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear."
The bakery evidently lost, smudged or otherwise misread the noted reference, and beautifully inscribed on the cake "John 4:18" ..."for you have had five husbands, and the man you have now is not your husband."
FYI – My life is swamped these next few days – I’m speaking at two totally different conferences next week (and the preparations are not complete) – so there’s a good possibility I will not post another Public Service Announcement until next Tuesday.

Betty - March and December are handled beautifully - great job! What a delightful tiny snowman on the December card - he's great. Thanks for the goodies and thanks for swapping with us
I finished my clothespins for that swap tonight. I hope to work on calendar pages this weekend and get them in the mail next week. Lots of busy stuff will be starting soon and I want to make my swaps the FIRST thing to get done.

Hi Calendar Girls... I've got the fronts done for my three spots. I will get the backs attached in the next day or two. I'm planning to send them out along with my completed clips.
Good morning all.
Today I am going to stay in my craft room. Yesterday we went to the Pumpkin Patch with our DD and her family. We had a wonderful day with our grandsons.

We went hiking yesterday with the family. It was a fabulous day to be outside amongst the trees. Today is really windy and there is a strong possibility of storms. Sounds like inside activities will be on my to do list for the rest of the day.
Just got home from church. I'm going to make sandwiches for lunch and get back on track with my craftening. I can't stand half finished projects laying there looking at me!

Went out to breakfast with my neighbor, then to Costco where I bought a HUGE bottle of RumChata (I drank a whole small bottle last week). Pouring rain here and dropping temps. This afternoon going to Verona to see a community theater version of Cole Porter's High Society. Drove 2 hours in the rain yesterday to a used stamp sale so must find some time tonight to play with my new toys.
Afternoon, I am home from church. Some of you already know that I work at the church I attend. Took family out to Pizza Hut for lunch and now I'm watching Shrek... doing laundry and putting the back on my calendar pages. I'm gonna guess that RumChata is a adult beverage...
Joyce, I love the ATC calendar and I'm really glad you organized it for another year.
Also pardon this Hijack...
I have Praise XII swap open due Nov. 29 (so plenty of time to join) that categories are devotionals 3 x 5 and 6 x 6 and fancy fold christmas cards. Come on over and join.
Love hearing what you all are out and about doing! As for my family and me - we are having a lovely home bound weekend with soft tropical breezes blowing through. When I can walk again, I am planning two trips, one to Scotland and one to New England for the fall colors - will probably combine the two - love the planning part. As for this swap - need to work on getting the calendars printed today......need to get DH off his computer to see what I can do
Capturing the authentic flavors of traditional Mexican horchata, RumChata is a delicious liqueur created from rice, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, sweet dairy cream and Caribbean rum. Surprisingly light for a cream liqueur, RumChata works well in cocktails, but can also be enjoyed neat over ice, added to coffee or hot chocolate, or incorporated into your favorite recipe. And like myself, it's made in Wisconsin. Tastes a bit like chai tea. My BFFs mix it with root beer for a root beer float or orange soda for a dreamsicle effect. Me---I like it neat. Yum!
At the used stamp sale I got 6 stamps---paid 25 cents up to $2. A new set of cherry blossoms Spellbinders dies for $17, 3 little purse dies for $1.25 for all 3, some embellies for 50 cents & two $1 cards to copy ideas from. Spent a total of $30.
