Good Morning Friends!

YAY! It’s Thursday…
soon we will be enjoying a weekend!

... ... ... ...

Today is Chicken Dance Day
Farm Safety Day,
National Punch Day,
and Gibberish Day.

On this nonsensical holiday (Gibberish Day), even the most articulate among us may utter
gobbledygook, gabble, babble and drivel.

Enjoy your holiday of choice today!

Please excuse the interruption, but here’s a
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
reminding us to look at life through the eyes of child!

A woman was driving her old beat up car on the Highway with her 7 yr. old son, Little Johnny. She tried to keep up with traffic but they were flying by her. After getting caught in a large group of car's flying down the road she looked at her speedometer to see she was doing 15 miles over the speed limit.

Slowing down, she moved over to the side and got out of the clump that soon left her behind. She looked up and saw the flashing lights of a police car. Pulling over she waited for the officer to come up to her car. As he did he said, "Ma'am do you know why I pulled you over?"

Little Johnny piped up from the back seat, "I do! Because you couldn't catch the other cars!"

Hugs!!!

Good morning!! National Chicken Dance Day made me giggle a bit. That's what "the dude" and I used to call "relations" when my daughter was little. ROFL. How the name came about is a whole 'nother story.

My daughter was enamored with (real) chicken dance when she was 2-3 years old. It helped us get out of a lot of tantrums and crying spells in public too, even if it meant all three of us were doing the chicken dance in wal-mart because we refused to give in to her candy requests...The chicken dance was magical in that sense, ie. she faceplants on the sidewalk after doing that "awkward toddler run," both "the dude" and I start doing the chicken dance before she has a chance to realize that she just fell on her face, thus saving us all from that delayed scream cry thing that kids do.

So...one late night, "the dude" and I were "walked-in on" by our daughter. Luckily, it wasn't too bad, but she did still ask, "whatcha doing?" in her innocent 3 year old voice. Because obviously, we weren't sleeping. Before I could even register what was happening, "the dude" calmly says, "We were doing the Chicken dance." (O_o)

THAT is a story to remember! I hope you have it written down for her... or SB'd.. that would be an interesting photo of you and "the dude" for a "layout"....

Love it!

Please excuse the interruption, but here’s a
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
reminding us that there are some Dumb Crooks in the world!

The Apple Store alarm triggered at midnight, notifying the local police that the premises had been compromised. Police arriving at the scene discovered that a security gate at the front of the store had been destroyed, and there was substantial damage to the business. No suspects were found at the scene, so officers reviewed footage from the surveillance cameras.

In the video, a blue BMW X5 SUV can be seen crashing through the plate-glass window in the front of the store. Three suspects exited the vehicle and started to grab items from nearby display tables. While the hooded crooks grabbed the loot, the wheelman attempted to back out of the store, but quickly discovered a security gate had fallen down, blocking his path. Undeterred, the driver repeatedly smashed the back of the BMW into the gate until it finally gave way and the SUV was able to exit the business and drive away.

A clean getaway? No, far from it.

During one of the BMW's frenzied attempts to smash through the security gate, the vehicle's license plate was torn from the vehicle and was discovered among the broken glass and rubble. The BMW was also left crippled with two flat tires. The burglars managed to use a spare to change one, but the other remained an encumbrance. The solution? Why, a second theft, of course.

One of the men allegedly entered a nearby convenience store and stole a can of Fix-a-Flat. Unfortunately for the thieves, the damage to the tire proved to be too substantial for the liquid magic to do its thing. So, rather than limp the battered beast back to their hideout, the thieves abandoned it not far from the crime scene. The car, which once had a new dealer price of between $40,000 and $60,000, had "extensive damage," according to police.

And it gets worse, for at least one of the alleged crooks. While police were busy following up on leads in the case, they spotted a young man walking near the mall. As it turned out, he was the registered owner of the BMW. In fact, he had the keys to the vehicle in his pocket.

Happy Weekend Calendar girls

I'm getting ready to take DS out for his camping weekend. When I get back I'm either being lazy at the top of the hill in my new swing, or staying inside and crafting all night long! (Well, for me that would be until about 10:00....then I'll probably get sleepy and go snooze. I don't do those late nights like I used to )

Good morning calendar girls

I crafted all weekend - how about you? It was a little too windy for a fire, so I opted to stay inside and knock out a few swaps. What did you do this weekend?

Over the years, my husband and I have usually managed to decode the cute but confusing gender signs sometimes put on restaurants' restroom doors (Buoys and Gulls, Laddies and Lassies, etc.), but every so often we get stumped.

Recently my husband Dave wandered off in search of the men's room and found himself confronted by two marked doors. One was labeled "Bronco," and the other was designated "Cactus." Completely baffled, he stopped a restaurant employee passing by. "Excuse me; I need to use the restroom," Dave said. Gesturing toward the doors, he asked, "Which one should I use?"

"Actually, we would prefer you to go there," the employee said, pointing to a door down the hall marked "Men."

"Bronco and Cactus are private dining rooms."

Well I craft shopped on Saturday ... fairly unsuccessfully ... yesterday I got one swap completely done, (well I may need to add some stickles) and two weeks done on an eight week swap ... funny story ... I was making pirate paper dolls, and had cut out the hook to replace the pirate's hand, and was holding it up to the doll to decide if I liked the hook or not ... DD got all upset ... you can't cut his hand off Mom, that would be wrong ... DS mocked her a lot ... she's 36 ... LOL ... but I left the hand on, and will include hook in swap and they can decide to cut the hand off

This past weekend I....Friday night, cleaned the house. Saturday dh and I went to the cabin to lay a new laminate floor, looks nice. Sunday came home and made roastbeef and gingerale recipe in the crock pot. Today I managed to staple the pad of my index finger by holding the stapler backwards and slamming it into the wall. I've never stapled my finger before, it really really hurt. Taking it out was the worst.

Thumbs up

Daughter and I had a very successful garage sale on Saturday. But we were a little worried about the weather. After 2-1/2 months of sunshine and another week expected,
rain appeared on the doorstep, and a baffled weather person tried to prepare us for a thunder storm on Saturday. She was as stunned at the weather change as anyone. BUT
divine intervention gave us a dark moody sky and chilly weather for the day. The only change we had to make was to add our fuzzy hoodies and proper shoes for warmth. The rest of the day was a breeze. (pun intended). Sunday, was groceries and lunch out.

Oh, Jen, I am sorry that happened to you. I feel your pain. I stapled my thumb to a chair one time. Through the nail and the tip of the thumb. I thought my #2 son would have a spell of some sort. I sent him to the bathroom for something to catch the bleeding and he brought me one little square of toilet tissue and wanted to call his daddy home from work. I sent him to the kitchen for a screwdriver and got myself loose and patched it up and he was just pale. He wasn't worth anything the rest of the day. If it hadn't hurt so much it would have been funny. I did call the doctor to see if I needed a tetanus booster but I was up to date. It finally healed but for a while it stuck out like a sore thumb. I couldn't resist saying that.
So are you up to date on all your shots? Be careful, puncture wounds aren't good.

You are too funny. How many time do you get the opportunity to use that pun? I'm glad you went for it - it made me laugh.

Yeah well it wasn't so funny at the time. But looking back it is one of those "I Love Lucy" kind of days.

Sybil, it was with a smile on me face and a giggle in me throat and an ouch from me lips.
A Lucy moment if I ever saw one.
And one square of tissue too. Hee,hee.

Sandi, Hedy and I went to the stamp show in Milwaukee this weekend. I won $200
in the name the show contest with "Stamp-waukee." Corny but worth $200 in show
bucks. Then Hedy got a $100 in the card contest 1st place. Then Sandi and I collaborated on a card for the card contest.
We won $100 for another 1st place. The winning card is here:
Paulette's a Paper-Artzy: Sailing Away or you can
see it in my SCS gallery. It also made the Favorites Forum on SCS. Sandi
also won a door prize. We really cleaned up---retail therapy is even more fun
when your spending free money!

Getting ready to start crafting away on my Decembers while watching DANCING WITH THE STARS! And Castle!
Not answering the phone, not doing anything else! Just playing.
Can't wait!

I just put the call in to the nursing home to my mum, to remind her that DWTS begins tonight. In fact I plan to let my family know it is calls on hold for me too.

I have finished a few of my Decembers. I am in the process of putting one on my gallery. This is my very old computer, and it is sooooo sllooooowwwww. It may be another hour until it figures out what it is supposed to do. But I am working on it........
