All these packages arriving and I haven't started mine yet. My plans fell apart for tomorrow, so maybe I can start the prelim work and create something. Everyone is so speedy.

There is no prize for getting them in early, so no rushing. Take your time and enjoy the process. This is supposed to be fun, not a race.

I only run "towards" ice cream and "after" puppies. Everything else gets done at a speed that I am comfortable with....no faster.

I am taking a short break from my swaps since I am caught up. But I seem to be getting an itch to start again. I have finished several projects and feel good about it but still have a couple more before I can really get down to swap-business.

Love your time analysis, Joyce. I guess with the thought of having another week of summer out here and hitting "fall" with warm temperatures, makes me want to enjoy the days of sunshine. And before, we get into our rainy months of winter. I have my prototypes done and I keep looking at them for idea additions. The process has started
but that's all I can say.

BTW, can we overlap the edges (meaning the sides and bottom of the ATC)? Or is this strictly to be done within the ATC measurements.

I think I need to keep a swap notebook... one where I write down all the good ideas (at least I think they are) so that when I go to work on the swap I don't sit like a bump on a log!

I do that... and it sure seems to help me. I write the swap I've joined, what stamp(s) I think I want to use, the due date (duh!) and sometimes a rough sketch.

Good morning

I skip the notebook & paper most of the time and just start little project piles. Since I have several swaps going at the same time, I try to stamp all at once for more than one project. Same goes for pulling paper and embellishments. It's a little messier, but I can see much quicker if the colors are going to work or if I need to go back and try again.

I sort of do that, too, Joyce. Behind my stamping desk - on the shelf - there is a hanging file box (the open kind - no lid to deal with). I have a hanging file for each upcoming swap and I add things to the file - like embellishments, DP, even a hostess gift sometimes. It keeps me organized.

I keep a notebook of the swaps I am in and who is in my group and the date I mail them in. When I start working on my cards, I keep all the bits and pieces in a baggie, especially if the swap is a repeat card with the same pieces.

Great ideas, Ladies!

I do print off the Swap and put it in a page protector and then in a 3-ring binder by date due. Now, I need to add the embellies and papers to that same page protector as I run across them vs. just "thinking" it would be good for a particular swap.

I keep a little notebook with all the swap info, when due, what to make, who to send to, etc. I check them off as I do them. When I work on them, I just pull out a bunch of stuff, and start designing. I never draft anything on paper or anything, just do whatever works. Most of the time it is completely different from what I imagined in the first place. They just sort of evolve. That is the fun part for me.
I had a spreadsheet in my computer, but it is forever gone. I am glad I have THAT on paper. I am checking into computers and asking more intellegent questions and learning stuff like "backing up files" and stuff. You would think I would know all that by now but I never thought it was important. We live and we learn.

I keep a notebook of the swaps I'm in and all the pertinent info like hostess, requirements, due date, sent, received, etc. Then I have some sturdy shoe boxes (from when my kids were in school sports) and put my supplies/projects in progress in these. It seems I spend as much time organizing as creating!

I couldn't stand it. I have just spent 30 minutes on my old dinosaur computer and my ancient puttputtputt printer, and printed off my calendars. So much for doing my projects in order. I may just have to get started on cutting and pasting tonight.
What is it that DRIVES me to do itty bitty things like this?

Hi again, can we add things off the sides of the calendar, or do we have to stay within the confines of the ATC?

I'm sorry...space cadet Joyce here! I saw that question earlier and answered it in my mind.

However, I neglected to answer it in yours. I guess I need to work on my mind melding skills huh?

If it overlaps a little, that's okay. Just try and keep the top clear so the calendar flips easily and fits the rings.

I believe that is the one with Patricia Arquette (plays Alison DuBois).
This one is called Long Island Medium. It's a reality show and Teresa gets these feelings and seeks out the person the message is for and stuns them
with her ability to say things that no one else could ever know.

I started my Decembers tonight. I made one just to see how it would look and I think it will be really cute. I can't wait to see how they will turn out after I have looked at it again tomorrow with fresh eyes. Sometimes they are better than I think they will be, and sometimes I say "WHAT WAS I THINKING?"

I love this show and record it each week so I don't miss out! TC is coming to Minneapolis and I checked out getting tickets but seat location available for handicap and cost was a bit too high IMO.

Did you see John Edward on Dr. Phil?

Well Norma, mine took a different direction as usual. I am not really into the sparkly and fragile unless it is a PAT and someone wants that sort of thing.
Mine are like.......holiday cooking, gingerbread men, cutesy whimsical, warm. Of course. I hope that is OK. I love your stuff though and know you will do beautiful sparkly fragile ones.
I can't get this computer to cooperate to upload them but in a few days when I am back in business I will post them.
By the way, my copy of Winter's Captive came today. I am almost finished with my current book, so will get started reading it soon.

That made me burst out laughing at work. Boss looked at me oddly, since inputting accounts into Quicken is not normally funny. I too have done the "What was I thinking??"

I do most of my crafting late at night and sometimes my ATCs or whatever take off with a mind of their own. Depends on what I have for dinner I suppose. Don't get into trouble at work.

Did you see John Edward on Dr. Phil?
No I missed it. I haven't watched Dr. Phil for a while. I think I got saturated with his show. But John Edward is fantastic and I loved it when he had his show on a few years ago. He is so on.
I saw where TC was doing some live shows. I think it would have been a fun, though poignant show to attend. I guess they have to make their money in the production somewhere, but any of these shows are far too rich for most of us to attend.
