1. Medical research - to end the world of disease.
2. Commercials with babies. They are so innocent, and laugh infectious.
3. Dakota - without the north or south - because it sounds so connected to the earth.
Guess who opened her bbque last night to a nest of baby chipmunks? I'll post a picture later.
Should I congratulate you on the blessed event? They are so cute, but we have been covered over with the little stinkers and I have come to regard them as a pain and a nuisance. We have holes all over our yard. I can't bring myself to do anything to get rid of them though, because of their cuteness.

I just added another sneak peek to the gallery. One more to go for this group and it will be finished. I just have to do the "cat dragged in" one. I am still thinking on this one.

Yay! The picnic table is done.
DH is heading home (finally) and since he was last here, we have finished ther pergola, added a swing and completed the picnic table. We can officially add wood to the firepit and have a BBQ. It's about time the weather started cooperating with us, it was tooo hot all summer long to be outside. I am overdue with my date to torch some marshmallows.

Awwww! I'd probably freak out at first sight, but that's cute!
Catching up on some missed days. I've had a nasty cold since Friday-ish and life seems to be a sniffly haze.
1. What's your favorite Dr. Seuss book? Green Eggs and Ham!
2. If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be? The Dunphy home (Modern Family), or any house that has multiple staircases. Ya know, the ones with stairs from the kitchen to upstairs and another set from the entryway to upstairs.
3. What's the longest you've gone without sleep? When I was a froshmore (idk which year it was) in college, I stayed up for a week straight during finals week (Lots of caffeine! I was a wreck afterwards, but I made straight A's that semester!
1. What subject do you wish you knew more about? Finance. I loved it in college, but I have such trouble with numbers, it's difficult for me to continue to teach myself and I'd love to be able to become a financial adviser.
2. What's your favorite commercial? Hmmm...Ironically, the Wal-Mart commercials with people buying stuff as a result of an impending or has-already-happened disaster crack me up. I still detest Wal-Mart. Here's my favorite one:

I can't stop laughing. Miss Idaho. I had to really think what was so funny about that. Now I got it.
And the chipmunk barbecue might be a good idea. Make little kabobs of them with tomatoes and.................. {{{sorry}}} I got a little carried away. But with all we have around here it would be a feast.
My last Group 8 is finished.
Paulette, go look in my gallery and see what the cat dragged in.

You know Himself is very tenderhearted. He goes hunting all the time and never shoots anything. Which is fine with me. He used to buy walnuts and pecans and put them on the porch for the pesky little chipmunks. Now they come and sit on the porch and wait for them. We don't have as many now. But a chipmunk barbecue would probably give him the heebie jeebies.

You know, I was thinking something like that, too...but I never expected to see it from you, Sybil!!!

I know, I feel terrible about saying that. But you know what? After stepping into countless chipmunk holes and nearly breaking my neck, cleaning up and repotting plants they dug up, having them freak Himself's dog Ruby out and making her scream at the top of her lungs when I least expect it and making me almost wet my pants, I have just about had enough of the little pests. She sits and watches out the glass door to the porch and when she sees one ........you never heard such a racket. But they are cute. I think about "Chip 'n Dale" and feel really guilty about the way I feel about them.

We know you didn't mean is seriously - you were just making a funny joke. We also know there isn't a mean bone in your body, so all those chipmunks are safe. Aggravating, but safe.
No, they are not safe. I used to watch Ruby carefully because she had been known to swallow the nasty little things. When I found out it wouldn't kill her to eat them, now when we go out and see one I say "GO GET HIM!" and off she goes. (Please don't tell Himself) There are a couple of hawks that sit in our yard, and a big black cat that sits under our storage house. We have fewer and fewer chipmunks and squirrels all the time. I just don't disturb the predators, let them have the nast little critters.

Chipmunks have finally left the nest, they were huge and obviously hanging around the good life with mom way too long. Now I'm sure they are safely re-settled in our attic.

Especially when it is company for dinner, right Joyce? Hee hee hee
The big black cat who hides in our back yard is getting fatter. I was telling himself last night about the nest of chipmunks in the grill. He thought that was cute.
Then he said "You know, we don't have nearly as many chipmunks here as we used to."
Ya think?

Good one Jen. I giggled my head off. I can just see them now, little suitcases in hand, standing at the border, and the man asking how long they planned to stay and what was the purpose of their visit. Little twinchie sized passports with their names: Moose, Butthead and Beaver and Johnny Canuck.

I'm not sure what their story was, but I just read that they were being detained for questioning. Something about smuggling poutine in their luggage across borders....
I am cracking up! The visual of chipmunks with little red and white polka dotted hobo sacks tied to the end of twigs with gravy dripping down their backs on their merry way to be grilled up with tomatoes! Heehee! Just joshin' about the last part!
They really are cute...when they aren't terrorizing. My big boy (the one with the white on his mouth) goes nuts for rabbits, chipmunks, and squirrels. I've never seen him catch one, but yeesh, he sure does try. They usually make it into the woods or under the fence and he gives up. But he will sit by the back door and watch for them to come back...for hours. He's probably the laziest lab I've ever known, but when he sees one of those critters, he goes nuts!

Good morning
Random questions for today....
1. What's the habit you're proudest of breaking?
2. If you could go to Disney World with any celebrity alive today, who would it be?
3. What's your favorite school supply?

1. Well I'll be the boring one today. I had no habits to speak of. Except I hated peas
and would hide them in my potatoes to get them down. Now I can eat them
separately.
2. Oh, this is a toughie. A lot of my favourites are dead now. Doesn't say much
for me, does it? How about Derek from Criminal Minds? He could push my wheelchair
Ha, ha.
3. And the school supply that gets me even today, a new box of crayola crayons.
I am addicted to their smell.
1. I think I have retained all my habits and haven't been able to break any of them.
2. I'm not sure I would want to go with a celebrity, I'd have to behave then and where would be the fun in that?
3. I love school supplies, all of them! A clean unmarked note book, a new box of pencils, a white eraser, but my favorite is a new highlighter. I just found some gel highlighters that don't bleed through the page.
1.) In university I used to smoke. Smoke free for almost 30 years, don't miss it at all.
2.) Disney world and why of course Johnny Depp.
3.) fine point blue pens by Pentel (sp)
