Well there's nothing wrong with wishing yourself "Happy Birthday" many many times.
I hope it is wonderful and you will have at least 100 more!

If I have a hundred more, I will be really prune-y at the end.

We went on a tour of the Trappist monastery near here a couple of weeks ago. When the monk took us on the tour, he said "the first exhibit is our oldest living monk. He is 101 years old. He used to be our tailor, now he just strings beads and makes Rosary Rings". This little man was just sitting there working and listening, and when the tour guide said something funny the little old man just started chuckling. He was in his own little world, just stringing beads and giggling to himself. He didn't have any teeth, and he was just laughing and laughing. If I have to be 101 years old I want to be happy like that. He was the highlight of our tour. That was an interesting place to visit, and they make wonderful breads and candy and stuff to sell in the gift shop.

Joyce, There's something to be said for relativity!! It was only when I got older that I realized that I'd be very grateful to have a life long enough to get pruney.

What a giggle. Yes, I'm pruney too and I'm not even out of my sixties. I don't remember my mother looking like that. Actually she didn't look pruney until age 89. Maybe I need to drink more water, instead of letting it pour over me in the shower!

I turned 71 in August. I am not as pruney as some of my friends that are the same age. I think I take after my mama. She died at the age of 74 and could have passed for 60.
But my pruniness has begun in certain places. It is what it is. I don't worry about it. I have enjoyed every part of getting wrinkles and gray hair.

Good for you Sybil. We worked hard for what we've got and there's no shame in that at all. I still have goodness and laughter in my heart and a smile on my lips, so I'm not an old grouch like some seem to turn. I jiggle when I walk, and I giggle when I talk - just makes my world go round and round. Anyone want to dance? (Here hold my cane will ya). LOL

That's the kind of spirit I want to end up with Norma. My sister is trying her best to become the Other Sort. She wants to be a curmudgeon when she grows old. She's trying to emulate the Shirley MacClaine character, "Ouiser" Boudreaux from Steel Magnolias. I call her Weezer all the time and she in turn calls me Clairee. She says I'm as much like that character as she is to hers.

Well it's been a while since I watched Steel Magnolias so I don't remember the Clairee character, but I do remember "wheezer". She was an old battleaxe. Oops maybe I shouldn't say that, since you have defined your sister as "wheezer". LOL. Pardon.

Arrow Afternoon Drive

So we went for a drive and it seems every road of interest had full sun in our faces. So my photo day is limited, but I did find some interesting views. Check out the blooming basket and then the fall red of this tree beside a purple house with a red chair. I love it. The other photos are on the road. Hope you like them.

Count me in please, please, please.

I'd like UTEE in Group 13, then (in any group at all) Zen/Buddhist sayings; First Ladies (because I so loved what was created last time!!); and Bumblebees.

Thanks!

I say change for one week. Give us a glimpse of another side of you (pun unintended) but you can go back if you want.

I like my avatar because I can spot it in a scroll to tell when I last contributed to a thread and start reading there.

I agree with Terrie. Try the new look for a while and if it doesn't make you happy go back to the old one. The old one is a fun look, but the new one is very nice.

I'll need some assistance from the Geek to get myself on the pink tractor. LOL You may see that one later on in the week. I have a few more that I can try on for size. Maybe I'll do a different one every day for a week before we decide. This could be fun.

Joyce, the magic carpet avatar fits you! LOL Here's a few more options.

In photo one, Joyce says *I think I'll go for a walk."

In photo two... she is feeling Frisky about her new hairdo.... and decides to enjoy the great outdoors in her BD suit! bwahahaha!!

Joyce, you had better watch Deb and her birthday suit stuff.
She is a genius with that computer.
Speaking of which, Patrick, our ex-geek neighbor, he just popped by and visited. When Himself told him my computer was dead, he said "Aw Naw, it ain't dead. Give it to me. I will take it home and fix it." I told him what the other guy said, and he just kept shaking his head and saying "Naw, it'll be OK. You don't need no new one."
We shall see.
We are still having a frog strangler outside. I never heard such rain. They said we had a tornado watch until 9:00PM and it is 9:45. I may need to borrow someone's pattern for an ark.

Now that's an expression I have never heard before - "frog strangler". For a minute I took it literally and wondered why anyone would want to strangle a frog. Weird. Then I read your next sentence about rain. A local colloquialism, no doubt.
