We did that this morning. We were up at 5:30 when the phone rang to tell us that school was cancelled. Watson took care of his personal business and we went back to bed sleep in the big bed together until 8:00. He curled up in the crook of my arm and snoozed until I decided it was time to get up. He's a good snuggler first thin in the morning and late at night. During the day he is all about the playing - no time for snuggling.
Charlie is the opposite, will snuggle ANY TIME but play not too often. But then the vet estimated his age at 5 years when we got him in May. I just wonder how he was when he was a puppy. I sometimes wake up in the night with his front feet across my shoulder, his body mashed up against me and his face on my neck. Wherever I am he wants to be near me, touching if possible. He is under my chair as we speak.
Watson will settle down and be a really sweet snuggler when he gets a little older.

Charlie poses. I can put him anywhere and he stays. I don't know if he went to obedience school when he was a puppy or what, he wasn't that obedient when we first got him. Either he had the training and it didn't show up then, or he just likes to be good. We just got back from a shopping trip to PetSmart, and everyone who saw him and spoke to him got that sweet little "Haroof" and tail wag. Amazing. And I know it is just him because I haven't taught him anything. He just knows stuff.
Is Watson the first little dog you have ever had? They are just more energetic I think.

Yes, he's my first little dog. All my dog up till now have been beagles, Labs and larger mixed mutts.
He just met Daddy(DH) for the first time tonight.....it went very well Watson did all his tricks and was very excited to meet him. I think they will get along great.
Charlie is the biggest one we have ever had and he weighs about 18 pounds. The other two are 10-12 pounds each. Just big enough to get under your feet and cause you to kill yourself. Trained trippers.

Good morning everyone. A little overcast today out there. Good day for crafting.
1. What's my favourite family tradition?
We don't stand on ceremony at our house, but
Christmas is definitely family time. We live in the same house as
our grandchildren, so dtr makes breakfast no later than 8 am and'
when we are finished, we open our gifts. We have PJ time together
and then we separate for a couple of hours, and a buffet lunch is put
out for anyone popping by, or coming for Christmas dinner later.
2. What is a bad habit you have?
I think my bad habit would have to be procrastination. If I can save it
for tomorrow, I would. Mind you in retirement, sometimes it isn't an issue.
Time is yours but even then there never seems enough of it.
3. Would I rather be......
Something between an artist and a writer. However, as much as I like
art, my ability has never led in that direction, so I enjoy what other
people see and create on canvas. I enjoy writing but again I have let
that passion wither. I wrote poetry and was published, but it seems to
go in phases. It filled a space that I required.
Christmas breakfast with all our kids and grandkids is about the only real tradition we have left. But it is my favorite thing to do. We make it fun and laid back and easy, and of course I play tricks on them every year.
2. What is a bad habit you have?
Snacking, eating sweets.
3. .Would you rather be a great musician, athlete, scientist, artist, politician, or
writer?
I think writer. I already excel in all the other areas
No, seriously, I love to read, and am amazed at the thoughts and facts and ideas that writers can come up with in their writings. I have been reading Jodi Picoult lately, and am always amazed at the details and research that goes into her books. Oh, and surprise endings. Wish I could do that.

Happy Mail Alert!
CandyHaz, PookieStats and normat - your cards have arrived safely.
Candy - nice job on the fast turn around! I'm jealous of Jen's nursery rhymes - that's a great card. Vintage photo is good too - I think that's me in one of those old photos
Laura - No extra points for making me puzzle out who these were from. LOL The ferrets gave you away, otherwise I would still be debating about where the cards belong. Since this is your first time, we'll forgive you. Your swap mates will want to know who made the fabulous cards, and you sent then anonymously I love the ferret image, and the tiny dress form is adorable!
Norma - A dozen lovely cards...all the way from Canada. Serenity by the Sea is really pretty...love the embelly on "Big eyes" and your hedgehog and cat-astrophy are too funny. Great job on them all.
Six packages to go and these will be postal. I'll be posting the next round on Friday, so be thinking about your new topic choices. We already have three gals who have sent me some private selections so they will be posted with the swap! Since it's also the 25th Round of the PATs, I have a special topic in mind - you won't want to miss it!
I mailed mine out this morning, so Wednesday maybe? Finding out that the deadline was extended, extended my inability to finish 2 that I just could not come up with an idea for. Sometimes a PAT is like wearing a leash, and sometimes it's like having wings.
My first 2 dogs were bitty-buddies, a fox terrier and a toy poodle, then I got married and we went big with Boxers. Now I'm divorced and I went bigger with Mastiffs. Hmmm, I wonder if there's a psychological explanation. Funny thing about Mastiffs is they think they are lap dogs because, apparently, nobody told them that they are BIG.
1. Fav family tradition would have to be scary movie night. Only now that my dad has passed away it's just me carrying on the tradition. My dad and I would rent a scary movie. He would have a bowl of salt and vinegar chips and coke, I would have sour cream and onion. We would shut off all the lights and watch a scary movie.
2.) Bad habit I have is not locking doors and running out of gas
3.) Famous athlete me thinks. I'm already a famous artist lol

Good morning chickies
It's not quiet in my house anymore. LOL My doggies seem to be bonding very well, and their favorite place to play is right behind my computer chair. The phone rang this morning, and just like kids, the noise escalated in volume, the longer I was on the line.

They're cracking me up.
My three always act up when I am on the phone.
I must be on the road to recovery because everything thing that Rachel Raye is cooking looks good enough to eat!
I've made several of her recipes. They are good enough to eat.
What's on your menu today?
I think I am going to make a meatloaf for dinner, and give it a try.
But on Rachel they made this fantastic looking Buffalo Pizza Pull Bread, and an interesting recipe making Buffalo corn dogs in the waffle iron.
Here is a picture of my three acting like little angels during naptime. I am not how clear the photo is, I DID NOT want to disturb them!

Schnapps is the oldest grey mini schnauzer, he is the one in the crate. (by choice, the door is not closed) The one with the orange jacket is Tucker the Cairn terrier, he is the hairiest and refuses to take off his coat. The all black one is Monty, not very easy to see because he is all black.

Let sleeping dogs lie.....
I tried an interesting recipe this weekend for family dinner. Buffalo Chicken Lasagna. It was on the cover of Taste of Home Magazine. It was a big hit.

They talked about buffalo chicken lasagna today on Rachel. Sounds interesting.

I'm so sorry! Mea culpa.
I did post the ATC's to my gallery with the PAT 24 and the topic in the title-I guess that made me think I had wrote that on them. And I know better!!
Won't happen again!!

I don't normally go to the gallery for sneek peeks for the cards that are coming my way. I REALLY like to see them in person first.
I do go look at cards and such when they are being delivered to another hostess though - I don't want to miss out on any of the good stuff I might not see otherwise.
Our number 1 grandson had his 22nd birthday over the weekend and we weren't able to get together with him. I invited him to come for dinner tonight and said I would fix him anything he wanted. He said he wanted cheese sandwiches with olives on toothpicks and fritos, like I fixed him when he stayed with us when he was a kid. When he got here he said he had been thinking about those sandwiches ever since we talked, and it was soooooooo good to have them again. I asked him if it was like "Comfort food" to him, and he said it just brought back lots of good memories. Who would have thought it? Just a plain old cheese sandwich.

Good afternoon
Happy mail alert!
Cloudia - your package has arrived safely.
Too much fun! I laughed out loud over the Vintage Children. That's how we explain acquiring Russell. The sparkle cards is very pretty and the shaped card has a great shape! The hedgehog made me go "aww....". Finally, love, love, love the dance card! I want one.
Thanks for the wobbles for me Now I can shake something up a bit - let me go check my stamps!

First thing this morning - sure did. School was delayed for an hour because it came about the time the kids would have been waiting for the buses. No damage fortunately - now it's just getting colder
We had lots of rain but no damage. There were 2 people killed in a tornado in GA though. We didn't have a lot of wind or thunder, thank goodness. It is getting cold here now too. Well after all it is January. We haven't had much cold weather.

We ran errands today after the weather calmed down. Made it in to Petsmart to get a new toy. We picked out a rattle-y crinkle-y squeaky toy with teething bits for feet. It looks like a clown cat. When we got home, Watson sat in my lap for almost an hour playing with the new toy. I think he likes it!
My fun new thing is to put all the dog toys in the "toy basket' and watch him drag them all out again, one by one. It's a stacking bin with an open front - he can walk in and out of the container. It's so funny to watch him. Toys don't belong in there, they belong all over the floor (according to him).
