Well my road map travels half way across the USA. That's what amazes me in surgery today - the tiny little mark is almost invisible in time and the healing time is minimal. Progress is marvelous.

I have a scar the size of a dime on my leg and when asked, I answer, "I got it in a knife fight". I actually did get it from a switchblade, but there was no fighting involved - just clumsiness on my part. I used to date a fellow that collected knives and accidentally poked myself with it. Knife fight sounded so much cooler. hee hee hee

I like the scout white cheddar popcorn myself. If I had known how yummy it was, I would have changed my order when I had the chance.

Watson is napping now. A little lunch for me, and them maybe some stamping. If I'm lucky I might get a set of cards done today.

I have to make a run out today to get more printer ink, so my cards have come to a standstill. I am just watching two mums with their babes in strollers. It is brilliantly sunny out there, but very cold. They are stopping on the corner to check their little bundles, all trussed up in snowsuits and blankets from head to toe. You could fool me whether there is a baby in there someplace. LOL. I remember those days so well. And when you moved some blankets aside, baby looked up at you with a big grin. Love it.

PS I have no idea what Disney character I resemble. All I can come up with is Dweedle Dee and Dweedle Dum. Hmmmm.

Oh no, Norma, Not the Dum boys. Some Very nice lady perhaps............Cinderella's fairy godmother? Is that Disney?
I had to get printer ink yesterday too. I printed this picture of a dog for my friend. When it was printed it was blue. So it was time.
We have a joke about dogs chasing squirrels, and the picture fit. Our Ruby is a red dapple dachshund, and you can say squirrel and she goes nuts. My friend's cousin's dog would not go out for what dogs have to go out for, because it was raining. She said they thought the dog would surely burst, had not been out all day. So her husband went to the door and said "SQUIRREL" and the dog took off out the door and to the other side of the yard. While he was out he took care of business. I said I thought Ruby would outgrow getting excited over chasing squirrels but she is 9 and still doing it. She will be the same as this poor fellow before long.

I am exhausted. DH and I decided to go shopping for new clothes. All we ended up with were sore legs and moans and groans. What a pair. And guess what? I forgot the printer ink. Drats!

Welcome to my world, Norma.
Charlie and I just went for a long walk. I put my walking cast on, and just went and went. It wears me out because it is so heavy but maybe it burns more calories, ya think? I just love to get out and walk, and this is the first time Charlie and I have had that experience. We are both sitting here with our tongues hanging out and breathing very hard.

I think I have to change my attitude. I try hard not to be a woe is me person, but I sure get mad when an hour out and I want to come home (says my body). My mind is saying very naughty things to itself and kicking it in the butt. Growl! Don't come too close, I might bite. If it is nice tomorrow, I'll try a walk instead. I may be sore but at least I get the fresh air and exercise. Meanwhile I am working on images for my last cards. I count that as a positive move.

I will work some more on mine tonight. I started them last night.
Tomorrow Himself and I are going on a "day trip" with our "Primetimers Group".
We are going to Atlanta (about 30 miles) to visit the Aquarium and then to the famous Varsity for a chili dog, onion rings and a "Frosted Orange".
This restaurant has been going on since 1928.
Check it out. The Varsity :: What'll ya have!
I will take heartburn meds before and after, I am sure, but I am going to enjoy it!

Are you kidding me? I took a look at one of the menus and the prices are unreal. How can they stay in business with prices like that? They are cheap, cheap, cheap! No way could we get anything at those prices. I'm aging myself here now, but those are the prices from the 50's. Get me a chicken salad sandwich to go. I'll be right down.

Norma, it's the most fantastic place anywhere. I think they make their money from sheer volume. It is an old fashioned drive-in restaurant, but you can eat inside too and it is huge. It has been there since long before I was born. The food is old fashioned, greasy, drive-in type food too. The onion rings just make you want to cry they are so good. We all say we are going to the Varsity for a "Lube job." And everybody who has ever eaten there knows what we are talking about. Wish you were here to go with us.

Oh my, my tummy is already rumbling. A lube job, eh? You got any of those tummy tamer pills? LOL. Oddly enough there are certain cities across the U.S. that I have always had on my travel list. Atlanta is one of them, Salt Lake City is another. (Been there.) I want to go to Scottsdale, AZ. And Butte, Montana. I have no idea why. Maybe one day. I won't give up hope. And if I am brave enough, the Varsity.

I have finished 4 more ATCs and you can peek at them on the gallery if you want to.
I have the last 4 started, all the parts and pieces ready except for one, and am struggling with that one. Hopefully will finish them is a couple more days.

Good morning

I'm starting the countdown....due in 16 days. Please check in if you haven't posted in a while so I know you are still playing along.

The Varsity was one of those places that my hubby told me about regarding his "lived in Atlanta" period. Now I am hungry for onion rings & a chili dog. I would even eat them for breakfast.

I went shopping with my dtr. this morning and we ended up in a closing out store. They were selling off merchandise as well as store stock and I got this fabulous storage bin for my paper, dirt cheap. It solves a lot of problems for a small space. I guess that was worth leaving the house before 9 am. I got myself a new bathmat and mattress cover half price. A few more items off my wish list.

Back from the Aquarium and the Varsity.
The dolphin show was fantastic. I don't know how they train them to do such beautiful things. There were 5 of them, and they were perfect. At the end the trainers who rode them and swam and danced with them came to the side of the ......pool I suppose you call it, and waved at the audience. The dolphins came too and nodded their heads, then turned and went behind the trainers, went down under the water and waved at us with their tails. Unbelievable.
The Varsity looks the same as it has for years, the food was really good as usual. I had 2 chili dogs with mustard, onion rings and a diet coke. I couldn't finish all of it. GOOD STUFF!
Paulette's new ATCs are really good, y'all go peek.
Good job getting that storage thingy, Norma.

A question. Someone asked me today if I would like to have a Cricut. It is one of the first ones that was sold, and has several cartridges with it. Does anyone have one of the first ones and would it be good to have it? I have never used one, and don't have space for it, but it might be a good deal since it is free. What do you think?

Happy Mail Alert!

BonnieBeth - your fabulous artwork has arrived safely. And I think it brought cold weather with it to KY!

Random favorites in no particular order....Cult classics - how many times have I seen that movie? About a bazillion LOL The Little Engine - this is going to be one of my most favorite topics from this round I can tell. Your interpretation is darling too. Sons of Anarchy and Things with Strings....BOTH very well done! Especially SOA.... Zombies made me laugh. These are all wonderful and I appreciate getting to see them all in person.

Did you dye the seam binding? The colors are fabulous! Thanks so much, you are correct, they appeal to me very much and I look forward to making something beautiful with them. I loved the note as always, they always make me smile

Great artwork here ladies - you'll love getting them in your return packages.

If it's free, how bad can it be? If you try it & don't like it, you can always give it to someone else as a freebie.

I now have a Big Shot because someone (pugs ) was kind enough to give it to me as a freebie. I used it enough that I broke it and bought myself the new version with my Christmas $$ last year.

If you like it, you might be able to add cartridges to your collection in the future.

I've got a Cricut Expression, I think it's considered an older one. I think it's the first one the was 12" wide and before that I had the personal one that was 6" wide. I loved that one (sold it) and I love my E! I say take it! Check out ebay (enabler alert) for cheap cartridges.

I'm always on the hunt for hand me down Big Shots. I really want one and everytime they are on sale, my money is looking funny. Gotta put that on a wish list or be more diligent about looking for one!

I'm so glad the deadline was moved back! I've got one of 3 done, the 2nd half done, and i'm at a total loss for the 3rd. I've started it twice already, with no workable result and I have to start it again. So thank you so much for the extended deadline!
Sorry I've checked in before, its been quite the last month of post holiday craziness.

We all say we are going to the Varsity for a "Lube job." And everybody who has ever eaten there knows what we are talking about. Wish you were here to go with us.
Me oh my! This place makes my heart skip a beat (literally and figuratively, lol!) All the great times we'd go before Braves games and visiting relatives near town. Goodness gracious, as my granddaddy would say! I do hope you enjoyed it, Sybil! We've been going to the locations out near where we live since they are a bit more convenient, but the atmosphere is nothing like the original! "What'll Ya have!?" I know about that "Lube job!" Best grease you'll ever have! LOL!

Aha - got my new ink so it's back to the drawing board. Time is running out and I may be one of those slightly late people, because of the mail. I hope not. I'm working, I'm working!

It brought back memories of when the back lot and the biggest part of the restaurant weren't built. We would go to the drive-in part and the car hops would literally jump on the running board or bumper and ride to the place where we parked and ate. They stuck a sticker with their number on your car to claim it.
The best thing is the smell when you go in. Oh my goodness it made you drool!

3 more finished and on the gallery. I am going to rest and think and plan for the last one. There's always one that doesn't cooperate.
