They have a TON of Martha Stewart punches at our Michael's today for $4.99. There must be 20 different ones or more. Many are the fold out ones too!!! Some are the corner ones. I think they are getting ready for the new ones to come out but these are all newer ones and really nice. They were in baskets OUTSIDE our store! I could not believe it!!! GET THERE FAST!!!
I just picked up a few over the lunch hour..I could not believe they were already clearancing this out at $4.99...YIKES...but good for us...
blessings.
Ya know, when I saw the title to this thread, I KNEW I shouldn't open it...Did I listen to myself? NO. So now I'm going to have to go see if my store is doing to the same. So thanks...thanks a lot, LOL!!!!
Are these located in the regular punch display, or off somewhere in a clearance section?
Usually when I see an item mentioned online, I go to my local Michaels and they don't have the same sale. So, I at least want to know where to begin looking!
I filled my cart with a bunch yesterday.....then went and put all but 5 back. I love punches! but I was able to reason with myself and not buy every single one and there were so many!
They were in the clearance section with a bunch of sizzix dies as well! But since the ones I was considering are all cheaper on Sizzix.com clearance and didn't get any. I went to another Michaels the same evening and found a cuttlebug folder on clearance for $1.99. yippee!

Thank you Petu for making me feel good. I, too, had 4 picked out and then I said to myself, "Why do I want these?" I put them all back. I have just returned from a trip to the east coast of the USA and I spent over $300 in various trips to Hobby Lobby and AC Moore!! So, I htink I've spent my wad for now, no matter how great the deals are that I see.
They were in a clearance section in the Bellingham, WA store too.
Ours were on the side of an endcap, where they've been since they introduced them into the store. They have her regular punches in the aisle and the newer designs at this particular spot.
There were only two I was interested in, but I talked myself down to just the one. I can easily get carried away, so I'm working on it.
For those who didn't see any clearanced, you might want to just try some at the register/ask an employee to price check them. I put a few in my cart yesterday because I had some really good coupons plus the MS stuff is 25% off this week and imagine my surprise when I got to the register and they rang up at $4.99! Of course now I want to go back and see what else might be cheaper than I think! :-)
I was going to go and then talked my self out of it.
I pulled out the box from under the bed and looked at all the punches I have and decided I have "plenty" of them. By staying home I wouldn't be tempted to buy more of them.
For the last 4 months that is what I have done with every thing I see on sale. I check what I have and see if I need more. If not I stay home
Years ago when I was doing a lot of sewing I never missed a sale!.
I justified it by You can never have too much thread, sewing machine needles, interfacing, etc. I would see fabric and have no idea what I would make from it , but I loved it so I bought at least 3 yards.
I justified all of it by telling myself that I saved money, it was on sale, and I may never be able to get that fabric again if I didn't get it now.
Furthermore I wanted to be able to have everything on hand so I didn't need to stop and go to the store. Certain colors are hard to find close to holidays that feature those colors. Yada Yada Yada
I had a separate sewing room and I ended up with a mimi store in there.
I came to my senses and realized I had spent money on so much that was never used. I could have spent 3 times regular price and still saved money if I only bought what I needed at the time. If I couldn't get a particular fabric I would find something else I liked equally as well. I never went into a fabric store when I didn't find several fabrics that I liked.
When I lost interest in doing much sewing I had boxes of unused stuff to get rid of.
I hope DH is not reading this. When I was in Michaels and had 4 of the MS punches in my hand, one of them was the butterfly. I really did like it and I wanted it, but, like you, I told myself I had enough punches. Well, the other night I was going through my large box of punches (yes, I really do want to hang them on the wall, but I don't want people to see how many I have!) and whaddya know, I already have the butterfly punch!!!! Well, at least I'm consistent in my likes!
Hmmm ... I put back two of the corner punches, but if the butterfly is on clearance, I'm going back! I've been eyeing that one for months and have "favorited" nearly every card I've seen done with it ...
