Default Recovering American Soldier

My card to A Recovering American Soldier was returned today. I went online for Walter Reed Army Medical Center and they have posted an announcement that for safety reasons they cannot accept cards. Cards received by Dec. 27th at this address will be delivered:

Let's remember our recovering soldiers who gave part of themselves for us!
Merry Christmas Everyone!

I was just going to post a question about this...I send a couple and they both got send back. My dad is my mailman and he said that some people sent one or more boxes and they were sent back. just trying to spread a little cheer; makes me kind of sad...

It is sad, but when this info first started coming out it was announced that Walter Reed could not accept these cards and if you go there, they had an address you could send things to - basically is was an internet myth for the recovering soldier thing but there is a way to donate, from what I remember in other threads back in Oct. Nov. if you look at the Walter Reed site.

here is a link to one thread stating don't send...Forums at Splitcoaststampers
