Hi,
I just found out that Joanns is opening a store on Central Ave in Yonkers. If anyone is familiar with the area it's going to be in the small mall that has Amazing Savings and Dress Barn and I believe Shoprite. The sign says they will be opening September 2nd. Yay! I really like Joanns. I live in the Bronx and have to drive to Westbury for a Joanns and AC Moore fix so this will centainly cut those trips down

I live in the Bronx too and this is soooooo exciting. I miss the Joannes when it was in the Palisades Center. All they need is a Hobby Lobby around here I will go broke!
There are a few of us Bronx Girls on here. We should all get together!

Finally! I'm in the Bronx too, and I shop at that ShopRite. I hope it's going to be a SuperStore. Hey, where do all you Bronx girls live? I'm in the Morris Park area.
I am in the Northeast Bronx on the border of Yonkers and Mt.Vernon. I love Amazing Savings! They have a great scrap section for an off price store. Not alot of stamps but, lots of paper and embellies and sometimes even punches. They have a Panera Bread in the same shopping center. We should all meet there when Joanne's opens. I am looking forward to it!
I'm in the South Bronx, The Mott Haven area, 7 mins away from Grand Concourse and Yankee Stadium and The Gateway Mall. Let me tell you I looved going to the Palisades Mall Joanns, it was a super. Sooo sad when they closed. So my go to area became Westbury but the tolls are too much lately. I'm was so excited to see the sign about Joanns I almost drove onto the sidewalk (I was driving back down from Michaels). Heres hoping for a super store.
Think of it ladies,now we'll have The xmas tree store, Michaels, Joanns, Amazing Savings, Harrows, and Tuesday Morning all down one strip. Plus all those good eats.
I'm saving my craft budget for the opening day. I'll be there with bells on.
It's open, and it's a Super Store!! They weren't fully stocked when I went, but the store is HUGE. They had a very nice selection available, even though there were a lot of empty shelves. I think the Grand Opening is next week.
Really! I can't believe I haven;t heard anything about it other than here! I drove by the shopping plaza the other day and had no idea where it was! Where exactly is it?
Who wants to meet for the grand opening? If it's a weekday, can we meet in the evening after work? Looking forward to making new local scrappy friends!

I went the day it opened and the shelves were a bit bare but that didn't stop me.....still spent some money
It's right above the shoprite. I think if you drive around back the is a parking lot but if you go in from the front the entrance is right before the shoprite, you go in thru the doors to another store but you take the escalators on your right. There was only a tiny sign for joanns so it was a tad confusing.
The grand opening is Thursday the 15th thru Saturday the 17th just got the coupon flyer yesterday for just for that store. I'm planning on going either Thursday or Friday after work. I work just 20 minutes from there. Friday will probably be better since I don't work weekends.
