Pretty much just pick one!

I usually choose by the main image or by the stamps set used most.

The most important thing is to pick one so the gallery mods don't have to do it.

I'm so sorry but I didn't make an album before putting the Ga. Gathering swaps in my gallery. Could you possibly move them into an album for me? I promise to do better next time , might even read the directions first!

Hi Jenn,

I'm reading here before I act LOL! Want to upload my very 1st. If it is a pocket card made out of spring showers paper, which I wrote on the back to a friend "Flowers for a Friend" because I tucked in a packet of flower seeds also... where should I upload to? and how do I know what to name it? Just trying to avoid a booboo from the start. Thanks a ton, this is one fabulous site, I love it.

Red face I am so sorry!

OOOPS!!!! A thousand apologies. I just started uploading about three weeks ago, and just today figured out what you meant by uploading to a specific gallery (instead of just my member gallery). I truly am a computer idiot, but I am so sorry to have caused you more work. I will be sure to do future uploads correctly (I hope);o). Though I found out about SCS more than a year ago, and perused the gallery often for ideas, it wasn't until last month that I discovered the forums, resources, challenges, and all the other wonderful things on this site! I am sooooo grateful for SCS, and especially all the work you moderators (and Daven & Co.) have to do. (If I didn't spend so much money on stamps and cardstock, I would certainly donate more than the membership fee!!!) Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do!

Cool a little intimidating

Hi, thanks for this information. I am very new and reading this makes me a little worried. I think I'm going to browse around a bit before trying an upload. Maybe then it will go a bit smoother if I understand the site a bit better.

Talking Uploading Cards

It took me a long time to figure out what I was doing wrong when uploading cards.

For all the new (and slow ones like me), try reducing pixels as mentioned in this article. That finally worked!!!! DUH!

Apparently I am guilty of uploading on Sunday. I was unaware of the "rule". I am sorry! I will always be more aware of what day it is. Everyone deserves some R&R and Family time.

You might want to start a thread to ask your question in the Places to Go Forum. Here's a link to get there http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...splay.php?f=62

I want to upload the great pix from our 2nd CNY Gathering in the SCS get togethers gallery. However, I don't understand how to make a subcategory for the pictures. Our 1st get together pix are in the general gallery but not ID'd as specific to CNY. Can you help me do this correctly?

TIA

Recently I've noticed that some of the stamp sets in the gallery have a little star next to their name. What does that mean?
Thanks!

Jen, thanks for the information. I just found this when I was researching another no-no that I've been guilty of. I'm the queen of boring set-names, and I'll try to remember to save with my username in the front from now on.

Default Problem with Gallery?

When I click on the Frosted Filters gallery, the Magic Snowflake comes up. I uploaded a filter card and was able to see two other cards in that category, but I'm not sure how to find them otherwise!

I have the HP stuff too. When I loaded the software it put two shortcut icons on my desktop - the HP Director and HP Photo & Imaging Gallery. After I scan in my photos it puts it in the Photo & Imaging Gallery. When it originally scans I don't get a choice what format to save it in, so I'll reopen it in from the Gallery and do the resizing (make sure that it's sized in pixels not inches to get the right size for the SCS gallery) and then I do a "Save As" and choose the "JEP file (*.jpg)" option on the drop down box where it says "Save as Type". Hope this helps. PM me if you need any more help and I'll see what I can do.

Hi Jenn

When you speak of cropping a photo, do you mean before you scan to computer of after it's in. I know how to crop before, but haven't a clue how to once my cards are in a folder???!!!! I also have no clue how to re size???!
Thanks for all your help,

Smile Cant upload to gallery

I hope someone can help....I used to be able to upload....but out of no where I started to get this message, when I tried to upload

Unable to move file [/tmp/phpNMxStO] [/mnt/nfs/data/gallery/uploads/12512/Krista_Frame_by_stamper24/7.jpg]

I have resized all of my scans....so I dont think that is the problem. I even emailed Daven. Who knows what I am doing wrong, or need to change in settings to make this possible.
I will check back for an answer.....or feel free to PM me.
Thanks

I appologize for all the extra work, I'm sure I have been a "problem child." I am new to all of this and have probably uploaded some HUGE pics because of not paying attention to the size. Also, I am short on supplies and funding for supplies, so a lot of my stuff doesn't come from SU. It makes it difficult for filling out the Stamps, Ink, Paper, Technique, Accessories Fields, etc. I will try to limit to SU products and when I go to workshops, I'll try to ask for a list of supplies we used. Maybe this will eliminate some confusion. Thank you for all the work you do to keep this up and running, I have really enjoyed the time I've spent here!!!!!

Hi Crazy-

There are also other galleries for specila techniques, but generally you would keep it in your gallery. I alwasy click on the 'just today' -or however it is worded- link on the galery page so I do not miss special cards that have no SU category to go in.

You can do your avatar by clicking on your username at the top of the SCS homepage. I think the avatar setting is on a column on the left hand side. It has instructions from there.

Hope this helps,
