Hello Jenn,
I've been a lurker here for a very long while and just recently joined up. Love the site and have loved it since the day I found it.
My question is ..... if a card is NOT approved is the member notified or does it remain as pending or simply deleted? I posted two cards this evening but one never left pending. I searched and found that cards before and after the time I uploaded the first card (the one that didn't approve) made it through. I have since deleted the card although I did check and can't think of any reason it might be rejected. *other than maybe it was just gawd awful and you didn't want other members to be subjected to it* LOL

Mmmm first, thank you for sharing Gerard Butler there. Oooh my. Made my mornin'!
Yes, some images are deleted, but only if they are incomplete, broken, personal pics (we don't allow family pics, pets, etc. . . unless they are at a gathering where they are stamping or learning about stamping, or have stamped that day ). If your image is deleted, you'll get an email that lets you know it was removed.
As far as why they were approved wonky - sometimes in the middle of the night, I'll do some approvals when the gallery is faster. I'll have one page open, and do page 1, and another window open to do page 10. Eventually, I meet in the middle. . . but sometimes I go to sleep, and we finish the rest in the morning.
A few more went POOF! just now.
Just a friendly reminder to *please* rename your images before you upload, and to PLEASE categorize them properly. We're spending a lot of time moving stuff, and would much rather spend it stampin' or commenting on the fab stuff in the gallery!
I just noticed this thread today. I'm so glad I found it! This info is very helpful!! I am guilty of uploading pics straight into my member gallery & making all that extra work for you!! Oops! From now on you can be sure I'll put them in the appropriate gallery.
Thanks so much for all your time & effort!!! It is much appreciated!
OK, I really want to appologize. I just started my gallery and didn't realize that I could/should post them to the set gallery instead. I found this thread after I started. So, now I went back to move my photo to the right set gallery and for some reason I kept clicking on the wrong thing, so the same pic has been moved a few times. Sorry if I created extra work for you.
Nothing to do with this thread actually,,,,,just thanks for being out there. I am a "newbie" and thoroughly enjoying the site. Thanks to all for your creative efforts!
Jenn, uploading for first time since changes at SCS. Can't seem to find the place to add the details of ink,CS,etc. It never gave me that option. Have things changed with how to do that?? Image is pending so I clicked to edit and there's still no place to add this info. Help!! TIA!!

It could be that you are either uploading to an album (I don't think you can do details there, that may have changed, though) or we goofed on adding a gallery and did not add the fields.
Which gallery are you uploading to? I will go check it out.

I thought I was uploading to the Sketch Challenge gallery. There wasn't a listing for the set I used (Fore!) so I just went with that. Could that be the problem??
Thanks!!
OH! And you guys *can* edit stuff you've already uploaded, too. Whether it is deleting, moving to a different gallery, adding a description, etc. . . you do this by opening up the item you want to change, and clicking on EDIT PHOTO under it. You can then replace the scan that needed to be cropped, whatever. . . and you'll retain the comments that were already posted to it. It will get resubmitted for approval, and will be up in (usually) a jiffy.
Jenn, does this allow you to edit the photo only or the description and supply list, too? It would be great to be able to correct our little typos etc. You know how it is, you see your mistake as soon as you hit the send button.
Thanks to you and all the SCS angels for creating and maintaining this wonderful place for sharing idea. I love SCS and don't know how I lived without it. SCS rocks!!!
I just answered my own question by being brave and giving it a try. I always thought it meant just SCS admin. Duh!
I've been viewing this site for a little while but just started posting recently. At the moment we don't have a scanner and the chords and software for out digital camera are still packed away (we moved a little over two months ago). Until I saw this site I never even thought about keeping a picture of the cards that I make. What a great idea. We are getting a printer/scanner soon and I just can't wait to start keeping a gallery. I just finished making cards to announce that we moved and as I was sending them out I really wished I had them in my gallery. When I start to make a card I have an idea in mind but as I create, the card making goes in a different direction and the end product is completely different than what I started with but still is just wonderful.
Hey, all! It's Sunday, and we have 13 pages to approve from last night's VSN.
MOST ALL OF THEM ARE NOT CATEGORIZED. *Please* take a moment when you upload to put your creations in a category by either stamp set, technique, or type of project.
Hmmhhh, I should hv read this thread before I uploaded last night- duh ...!!! Sorry
I have however, a stupid question- once we are done uploading, can we delete the pictures from our computer? By deleting the pix from our computer, will it delete the image from this web? Sorry, I am an extreme computer-illiterate ...
Thank You so MUCH for maintaining this "heaven on earth" website-

I've been reading how to upload a card, but when I go to gallery to lilac bar upload photo, I get a message that says I don't have permission to upload a photo. How do I get permission?
Also, I honestly don't know how to use this post, thread or whatever it is called, so I hope I haven't done anything against the rules. I'm wondering how long it normally takes to get a response and where do I go to find it?
Thanks, Linda

Wow, I didn't realize I could do all that. Sorry.. One question though... I have tried to find (in vain) a place to put additional information - stamps, inks, cardstock, etc... but can't seem to. Can you give me an idea where i do that? Thanks for all the information and advice.

Sorry I missed this question! Right now the gallery uploads are temporarily restricted. Check out this news story for information ~ The Official Word.

Most galleries have those fields built in, and you'll see them on the second screen when you upload. If you are loading to an album, I don't believe you'll have those categories to fill in.
I have read ALL of this thread on posting pictures. I haven't posted anything yet, have been being bugged to do it for quite a while, and don't want to make any mistakes! I've got the stuff about filenames down. I figure it will be self explanatory (I hope!) when I go through the posting directions. I do have these questions:
When I post a card, let's say a Roses in Winter, I put it in the category Roses in Winter. I don't have a member gallery yet (obviously). Does posting my first card start my members gallery automatically?
When I post pictures of my stamping space, how do I do that?--category, etc.
Thanks for all your hard work!
Jenn - I'm just wondering if you could add something to the OP about No Upload Sundays? You know I'm on a campaign to get the word out. I just had someone ask me where the announcement is and I couldn't find it -Perhaps that's just a lack of coffee! Anyway since this thread is a sticky and it's all about uploads maybe it would be helpful to include the No Upload Sunday info?
or you could tell me to go drink my coffee and mind my own business.

Hi,
I am new to this and uploaded my first photo yesterday. I found out the hard way that a jpeg picture is much better than a scan. But I am a little confused about which gallery to put the picture in. Could you give me more detail? I assumed that I should put it in the members gallery, but then saw that there is a note on it to move it to the main stamp gallery that I used.
Is that what you would like us to do? Use the main stamp as the gallery? Now call me dumb--but it will still come up in the daily views right? I am not very good with a computer attaching pictures etc. DH was impressed that I even managed to get my picture and description on the site. LOL
