I got a Cameo in November and wanted the Designer Edition, but I was waiting for a good price.

I bought it tonight

This is my first electronic cutter and I love it .
I am very impressed with Silhouette America too. Their Customer Service is outstanding . And it is great that they offer frequent sales on cut files and other tools and software .
With other manufacturers we have to scrounge for store coupons to save any money

Your welcome! I love my Cameo too. The software makes cutting SVGs just so easy and I have found lots of freebies to cut. My new favorite store is MissKatesCuttables.com. She gives a new freebie every day.

I have an old Silhouette which I have never used, but definitely want to. Will the Designer Edition work with my Silhouette and will it be easier?

I'm pretty sure if you have an SD and the latest update of the regular Silhouette software you should be able to upgrade to the Designer Edition.

I just got the DE software and really like it a lot. The sketch function is awesome, you can make a line sketch of any die cut and print it out instead of cut, essentially making your own digital stamp.
