You are NOT going to believe me--but when I zipped into Target today, I (of course) checked out the Dollar Spot--and I came screeching to a halt (I think smoke came from my shoes, just like in the cartoons) when I saw the Valentine mailboxes out!! BEFORE CHRISTMAS??????
3 colors--red/pink/white. This year, the white mailboxes have a red flag on them.
Keep your eyes peeled if you're on the Mailbox Hunt.
I didn't use up all the mailboxes I purchased last year yet! LOL! Thanks for the heads up though, they are great for 'welcome to the neighborhood' or 'congrats on your new house' gifts.

I've got a couple of dozen from last year (took THREE YEARS for me to finally pop into a Target that had some in stock after seeing all the lovely projects posted here in the gallery!), yet I still picked up a few this afternoon -- wanted to have enough for a class or two next year, plus a handful to just play with on my own!

Fabulous use of the new DSP with the little houses on it. Great idea!
i saw these a week ago!!! but...i still have some from last year! my stamp club wasn't interested. they are only interested in things they will use!! they all wanted to know what to do with it!! dah!
OMGosh... I have never seen them before. I did a search in the gallery and I am in awe of what these little mailboxes can turn into. I am going to Target today! Thank you!!
Can someone Take a picture of one of the mail boxes un decorated so my sister will know what she is looking for.. I don't have a target anywhere near me so she is going to look. pm me for my email add. Thanks.

SOO MANY CRAFTS SO LITTLE TIME..
There are so many possible uses for them. I made a birthday greetings mailbox for a Sunday School class and the kids would drop little 4 x 4 cards in them.
Welcome to the neighborhood, hold gift certificates, kids LOVE decorating them and they would be cute for school teacher.

Found them about a week before Christmas - the "Christmas Fairy" delivers little gifts every day, and my DiL was so happy to have something that big to use for the kids gifts.
Thanks!
Kate

There's a pic in Emily Giovanni's tutorial linked in post #22 -- it shows the Pepto pink one, but the colors vary from store to store. So far I've seen them in pink, red, white and last year they had silver.

I used red and white ones last year for my sons kindergarten class for there Valentines day party. That was there craft for the party. I had them use foam heart shapes that already had the sticky stuff on them and they were able to peel and stick what they wanted on them and then there Valentines got put in them. The kids all loved them....so did the Moms!
I'm so excited--I got 15 of the white ones--that's all of the white they had out, but still had pink and red. I'm going to be doing my first ever card/craft class per the request of friends and they asked me to include something that wasn't a card--like a bag or box. I might still do a box (saw one on here so they can put there cards in there with them) and the mailbox.
As this will be my first try at ever doing a "demo" and not being a demo for any company, I'm excited and nervous all at the same time!
I visited a Target and all they had were white. Thanks to you lovely ladies I knew they were supposed to have red and pink as well. The nice dollar section stocker was able to find and unpack some pink and red ones for me.
Target here has the little pails in white, pink, and red, but no mailboxes yet. Ya' know, they put that $1 section just inside the door for a reason (makes me forget what else I went into the store for!)!

I ended up going to my Target the day I read this post and was able to pick up the last 2. I am so glad I went when I did. I have already decorated them and had a ball. Thanks for all the info!
Thanks for the heads up. I stopped at Target after work today and bought 7 pink, 7 red and only 1 white. That was all they had. I cant wait to start playing with them.

Such a GREAT idea!! I've only used them in the past for Valentines gifts, I know not much imagination here. I haven't been able to sang any of them the passt 3 years though. I hoping I'll get lucky this year! I was at my target about a week ago and they didn't have any. My luck they are already long gone instead of just not out yet. I'll check back monday after DH goes back to work. Love him, but can't get anything done while he's home!
Thank you so much for enabling me, ladies. I picked up 5 of these and 3 of the pails today at Target. I was surprised they actually had them. Usually I miss out on things like this, because I can't get out right away. (The nearest Target is 45 minutes away.) Love the examples in the Gallery. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I've posted comments on some of them, but I couldn't get to all of them - there are 35 pages! So a big THANK YOU to all of you!
I walked right past those adorable little mailboxes today!!! I'll have to go back to Target tomorrow.
Did you see the CUTE V-stuff they have at M's for $1??
