Please please please be careful with them if you have hot liquids in them! I keep the latch closed on top and thought that would be okay, but my 19 month old grabbed it and was still able to pour HOT tea all over herself.
So PLEASE don't think that the latch is spill-PROOF. It is spill-resistant maybe, but you can certainly still spill it!
She's okay, by the way, just a little pinkyred on her chest/face.
I filled mine with ice and water on my way out the door this morning. To test the seal, I turned the mug over and as I did some water came out the top. I looked at the top and noticed a small vent hole in the lid. So, yes, be careful with hot liquids.
This could have been a lot worse...especially if the lid wasn't secure. My daughter grabbed a cup of hot tea of the counter and was severely burned as a toddler. Thanks for reminding everyone of this...it can happen to anyone. Hugs to Katie!

Hope Katie is doing well...and thanks for the heads up. Sometimes DH will send DD (2years old) in with my coffee on the weekends (I have a Starbucks cup that is spillproof, there's like a plug in the lid, she can shake it, and nothing comes out)...but I'll be sure to tell him not to do so with my pretty green SCS mug! Thanks again!
