So has anyone else recently received a DVD from Creating Keepsakes "Essential Scrapbook Video Collection"? I am a subscriber to the magazine so I'm assuming that is how they got my name... but BEWARE! It is one of those TACKY "keep it and send us money and we'll KEEP sending them to you" OR "please return the DVD and keep the free gift".
Is CK really this desperate that they have to use these dime store marketing tactics?
And while I'm ranting... does it seem like that company is wheedling their way into EVERYTHING? They are just so overexposed... I'm getting so turned off by their worn out material. Ali Edwards is their only saving grace. Hopefully she'll cut ties and go off on her own--she would do fine.
I have their lil photo memories and more binder thingy and its the same way. I was so MAD! They dont tell you that untill after they send it! If I kept my subscription to that it would cost me over $100 for this stupid thing that isnt even worth it!!! INSANE
I got it and kept it. Too bad for them. I didn't ask for it so why should I be bothered to return it? I agree, they are going to start losing customers if they continue like this. Sorry for the sour grapes but I am getting irritated by all the companies trying their darndest to seperate me from my hard-earned money by offering to send me overpriced cr*p! There, I have said my piece. I think I am finished with my rant now!!
I received the same DVD and took them literally at their wording that if I wanted to return it, I could, but because it was sent to me unsolicitated, that I was not under any obligation to send it back or pay or pay for it. I do receive a letter from them every 2 months reminding me that I have not paid for it or sent it back. Oh well, I am considering it as a gift for being a subscriber.
This is off the stamping/scrapping subject but two days ago I got a call from Men's Health magazine offering a new health book to review for 21 days (something like that). I didn't even let her finish talking. Told her I don't want anything that I have to return. She said all I have to do is call them and them will send me a shipping label to return (no cost to me). Told her do not send. Yesterday Columbia/BMG CD club called and wanted to send 5 free CDs -- again didn't let her finish about the obligation. These companies are such pests. Actually, both of these calls were for DH but I wouldn't let them talk to him. He might just have told them to send -- and guess who has to return them later.....ME.
I gotten a few of these. About 2 weeks later they start sending you the bill. I kept telling them, I didn't order it or ask that it be sent to me for a trial so I'm not paying for it. They tried to for awhile to get me to pay. I finally said if you continue to harrass me, I will contact my attorney. I never heard from them again.
Same sort of thing also happened to someone else I know. She told them she never rec'd it and didn't know what they were talking about!!!
