I cant believe that its already February! This year is flying by already.
But at least its Friday!! So that means some new Diva Designers to inspire us
I first found Lotus Paperie on Flickr I was just messing around looking through random pictures and saw these amazing layouts that I just had to find out more about! So, I did a search and found the Lotus Paperie blog where a talented gal named Vanessa has a kit club with challenges and sketches and everything!
I immediately invited her to join the Diva Designer challenge so I could share with all of you this gem thats hiding out there!! And, after much waiting while Vanessa got her familys new home in order, Im now ready to present to you the fantastically creative Lotus Paperie Design Team:
Welcome, welcome, ladies, and thank you for diva-ing this week!
To participate in the challenge, draw on the inspiration from these gifted divas - and be sure to type in SBDD12 for the Keyword when you upload. Thanks to everyone for joining in the challenge! Dont forget to post a link here to your creation so that we can all ooh and ahhhh ;)

hi ladies...sorry we are so late in making an appearance...had a bit of time trying to find thread...i got hopelessly lost, LOL!!
so i will quickly introduce myself...
my name is jessi
I am a 30 year old SAHM to 3 children. My son, Dakota, is ; my daughter, Haillee, is 5; and my baby girl, Delainey, is 2...and they definitely keep me busy and are most definitely my biggest inspiration!!! I am married to a pretty cool guy, Jason, who may harrass me about my scrapbook addiction...but he loves it just the same!!!
I have been scrapbooking for just over 5 years, currently design for lotus paperie and one little word, teach classes at my LSS, and love the creative outlet it provides me. I love that I can combine art and stories and create something unique for my family...and generations to treasure for years to come! I love that it is something that is a continual process of change and learning...I love that it brings people across the world together...I love that there is so much inspiration and love shared by this art. Simply put...I just love scrapbooking!
thanks for having us...we are excited to be here!!
Good morning gals!
I'm Vanessa and I'm the owner of Lotus Paperie (www.lotuspaperie.blogspot.com) this site won't let me post a hotlink yet. I started the blog a little more than a year ago and introduced the scrappers in my then-local community to the idea of challenges. I have been teaching scrapbooking for the last three years and became a scrapbooker by accident. I was asked, in 2004 to host a CTMH gathering and became a consultant shortly thereafter. I work from home running my very busy blog and scrapbooking for private clients as well as making wedding stationery for some deliciously upscale clients!!
My blog was originally created to be a meeting place for creative types and holds to that still today. In addition to the weekly challenges- some sketch oriented, others glean inspiration from the world around us, including artists who work in non-scrapbook based mediums- I also sell unique scrapbooking kits- called Couture Collections which feature fantastic items borrowed from the fashion industry. In fact, this month's Couture Collection includes some gorgeous pearl-headed hat pins and ultra-cool measuring tape printed fabric.
Every week a new challenge is posted and visitors who wish to participate are invited to upload their pages to the Lotus Paperie Flickr Group (the link is on the blog sidebar & in this morning's post) to get a chance to win the newest Couture Collection. Today, a new challenge was posted to the blog and you are invited to join in on the fun! In addition to the regular challenges at Lotus Paperie, I'm offering you guys an exclusive opportunity to win a kit! Just scraplift one of the pages posted by the Team here, post it online by noon PST Wednesday the 6th and we'll vote on a fave! The winner will be announced on Thursday on this thread and also on my blog!
Oh, and Ronda sends her regards and extends a thank-you for the invitation to participate but due to a family emergency, she won't be able to join us this time.
I'm still finding my way around this site so I'm going to upload my page and come back shortly with that post. Thanks for having us and I look forward to seeing your scraplifts!!

Not sure what's happening, I'll PM the mods for you!
My name is Tania, I'm a 33 yr old SAHM (is there really such a thing?, lol) of 3. Chastity, 10 in 2 wks, Emma, 8 and Mikhail 13 months (explaining why I'm late getting on here, lol.) and wife to hubby Trevor, 14 yrs this month.
I've been 'acid free' scrapping and addicted since 2000, and am always up for a challenge.
Can't wait to start roaming around and finding all the inspiration on this site.
Christine couldn't be here in person today so I'm posting on her behalf...
Hey, Christine here. In the past two and half years I have not only become the mother of two amazing kids, I have also become a bit of a scrap-a-holic. Recently, I have even begun teaching a few scrap courses. My son absolutely loves adding pages to any one of the three scrap albums I have on the go right now. The layout I am sharing with you today is from my Alphabet album " W is for Winter". I love this album because there is no chronological order. I just add pages as I gather pictures and get an inspiration. My aim is to have it completed by the time my kids enter school, but at the rate I have been going I should have it finished in less than a year!
Good morning gals!
I'm Vanessa and I'm the owner of Lotus Paperie (www.lotuspaperie.blogspot.com) ....Thanks for having us and I look forward to seeing your scraplifts!!
Wow!! Awesome site and truly some insprational work posted!! Wow!! Did I say Wow?...WOW!! Where are you located with temp dropping below 50 degees?
Thanks for all the kind words about the site, I work really hard to make it cool, I'm glad you think it is too!! To answer your question about my location, I live in Whitehorse Yukon, Canada...I'm neighbors with Alaska. Truth be told, while the temperature is effin' cold, my fantastic husband can fix anything so when the pipes freeze or the propane gels he knows exactly what to do to remedy the situation. I wouldn't have moved here if he hadn't spent the first 25+ years of his life here! So that gives me tremendous amounts of security and I know we're all ok, even at -50!!

P.S. Vanessa, my very first scrapbook had a 2 page layout from Whitehorse Yukon, Canada! My husband played golf there and had his picture taken with 'Sunshine' who was the owner/pro/etc at the course. Beautiful place!
welcome, welcome, welcome - loved all the inspiration!
I didn't have DGD for a couple days so got to play:mrgreen:
this was inspired by the strips of pics in the left page of the dps; but I had so many I wanted to use on one page, I made them much smaller; it kind of ended up being like the stip on the 3rd LO, so guess it's kind of combo inspiration.
Okay everyone, your pages are uploaded to the gallery and in the next short while, my DT and I will vote on a fave page. The lucky winner will be announced tomorrow on this thread and on my blog, where I will post the page of the lucky artist. Good luck everyone, thanks for playing along.
We have a winner...and the lucky artist is SCRAPBOOKMONSTER!!! yay for you! It was a super close race but the tie-breaker vote is in and Kim is the winning scrapper. Kim, please email me with your mailing info so I can ship the Couture Collection out to you. My email addy is [email protected]. Way to go and thanks so much to all you scrappers for participating. Your enthusiasm was evident in your artwork. Please continue to visit my blog regularly for more chances to win a Couture Collection- I hope you do and leave comments too because we all know how fun it is to read 'em! It was a real treat to be a part of your group for the past week and I hope to be invited back again in the future. Many thanks and Happy Scrappin'
