It's Friday! And many of us are home missing all of the fun in SLC! Did you hear that they have the new Holiday Mini? Oh, I can't wait to see it! But before we buy more holiday sets, let's see what new ideas we can come up with our old fall and December holiday sets so we can justify, if needed, the purchase of more!
The Idea: Use one or more holiday sets in a completely new way. For instance, you may take a Halloween set and make it a graduation or birthday card. (Please don't use sets like Loads of Love that were intended to be used as a multipurpose set!) Here is an example of a birthday card I made using the spider from Trick or Treat and the web from Web Wishes:
The Limitations: Let's see what everyone can come up with from this list. Remember that you can use any combination of things on this list, but you cannot use anything not listed below. When you upload your card to the gallery please put LSC21 in the keyword section and post a link to this thread so we can all go look. Everyone is welcome to play -even if you've never done a challenge before...please join us!!! We love NEW players!
Stamps: 1 or 2 strictly Holiday sets (not multi-purpose sets) AND and
additional 1 or 2 sets
Cardstock: Choose up to 3 colors plus one neutral
Ink: Choose up to 3 colors plus one neutral
Embellishments (Limit of 2 so that the holiday stamps shine!): brads, eyelets, hemp, ribbon, raffia, metal, wire, mesh, staples, regular house hold items
Techniques: Any
If you can't upload to the gallery you can still play at home. You don't need everything on the list to play. Just use what you have. You are more than welcome to combine this challenge with any of the other challenges going on during the week. Remember to put LSC21 in the keywords so we can find your submissions easily and post a reply to the thread with a link to your creation.
If you have questions, just PM me or reply to this thread. I'll answer you as quick as I can.
BONUS: Well, I can't replace the fun we're missing in SLC, but I can add some spice with another bonus this week. For every card you upload and link to this thread, I'll put your name in a drawing for a prize. The more you make, the more chances you have to win. I will post the winner on this thread next Friday.
Wow!! I found this to be the toughest challenge of the week. I only have one Holiday set as most of my others can be used in many ways. This was fun but hard to figure. The set I used is retired. I hope that is OK.
Okay--I found my very first holiday set and used it to create a thank you card using a play on words. Obviously this set has been retired for quite awhile as I last saw it in my 2000-2001 caddy and it's not listed in the gallery. I have apologize for the color combos, I went to our local craft center to work with some friends and forgot all my scraps to make the punched and pieced lettered heading, might have looked a little better if some of the paper had matched the ink pads I had gathered up, but what the hay, I got it finished in one day.
This is my 1st time sharing a card. Usually I just play along at home. I'm not sure if this will work but here is the link. It is still pending. Thanks so much for giving us such great challanges! Colleen
Okay, I've read many challenges, but I've been to intimidated to give it a try. I liked the idea of taking a "themed" set and using it in another way. Here is my attempt:

Thank you!! It was lots of fun to make!!
These challenges are sure good to get you thinking a bit differently and trying new things!!
Okay, This is for LSC58, the baby sympathy card, so it is a sad one. But I used Miracle of Christmas--it is supposed to be a Mary and Jesus picture, but I made the veil into hair by adding some hair lines. It works great for a baby stamp. I have also cut the hay off of the other image in this set and used it for a baby congrats stamp too.
