This week's inspiration card and sketch was done by jkstampin. I just love the contrast of the black and red with the accents of white in her card! It’s just so darn cute.
Below is my sketch based on jkstampin’s card and it will also be posted in the Sketch Challenge Gallery.
Hope you all have fun with this week's sketch! Asela

Thanks! I'm going to give this a try! I used to do the challenges but got off track with a busy summer, but I get to stamp today and I new right where to start! Thanks to all of you for keeping these wonderful challenges going!
Well, It's not great but it will have to do for now! I couldn't get it right, love the layout though. I will have to try a diferent set and colors and see if I can make one work. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I'm so excited to get home (I'm sitting at work, anticipating the end of the workday) so that I can pull out all my supplies and get to work on this sketch! I may have to post a couple of cards tonight.
I have a quick question, though. What are we supposed to follow -- the sample card or the design template that is drawn out for us? The two cards that have been posted here so far (love them both!) follow the layering and ribbon of the sample card, but can we change it up as long as we have a circle and banner like the simpler sketch? I hope that makes sense -- I just want to understand the rules before I go bending them too much.
Here is mine for the challange, it was really fun. I love how these challanges stretch our creativity. Of course it also helps to have new stamps to play with!!!

Brian,
There really aren't any rules Look at the design template and stamp up whatever it inspires you to it (including changing it up some). The sample card is given as a sample/example of where the sketch came from. So the lines can be cardstock, ribbon or anything else you can come up with. So I guess the only rule is have fun!!

Thanks, Jodi! I kinda' thought that was the case, but I wanted to be sure. I am thrilled about the idea of going home tonight and making several cards with this layout! Fun.
I haven't participated in awhile, nor do I have any new supplies to play with (sniff, sniff) but I had a chance to make a card while DS was napping today. Here it is:
Lindsey thanks! Jodi thank you for helping Brian out. I was at Hurrinecane Harbor all day with the family...and boy was it hot!!!!! Ok I'm back to looking at all the awesome cards you all made.

Don't You Hate Stubborn Cards?
Okay. This card and I nearly came to blows several times. We just couldn't see eye to eye on anything. Finally, we decided to employ some conflict resolution strategies. In the end, we parted amicably, but boy was this one a lot of work for me!
Here's mine...I did 4. Just got this stamp set this morning before I saw the sketch challenge. Turned out OK, but I didn't bother getting too creative. Put all 4 in one pic to save time. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Alright...I'm officially addicted to the sketch challenges...some of you may have noticed the umpteen SC that I added over the last day...here is my take on today's sketch...unfortunately I don't have any tags (I know shame on me) so I had to improvise :o) Hope you enjoy!

Here's one for this challenge that also fits the color challenge for this week. This was an idea I had for some scraps of faux suede cardstock and this sketch was perfect for it.
I've been addicted to that dadgum Paisley stamp ever since I got it! I'm so glad I picked it up before it retired. Anyway, here's my card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

All day today, I anticipated rushing home to make a whole bunch of cards with this layout. I identified the stamps I wanted to use and knew exactly how I would execute them. While it seemed I had tons of great ideas, however, I have been playing with these cards for several hours and haven't don't really come up with anything I love. I'm submitting these two, anyway, because I need to move on...
I did two yesterday and had a little trouble in the gallery with two of the same card, deleted one which took both, deleted that one and started over and now it's there and approved.
I used stamps from my two favorite companies. Stampin Up card is here. My oval turned out bigger than I had planned but it's the general idea of the sketch. Hero Arts card here.
I want to thank everyone for participating...I'm blown away by all the talent we have here!
Glad you are enjoying this weeks challenge....hmmmm...now I have to try to create a card myself (first I have to wait 'till hubby goes off leave and I have the house all to myself again...hehehehehe) ;)
