A few people have asked if we are going to design a separate Envelope Board. It is not necessary, because you can make multiple shaped envelopes with the one tool you have, the Scor-Pal. No need for a second board. Lauren Meader has written an awesome tutorial for very stylish custom envelopes that use less paper than the pointed sided envelope which you can commonly buy. You can also make an Envelobox for a bulky card. Watch for this in an upcoming tutorial. We will also give you paper sizes and score lines for the pointed sided envelopes for standard card sizes.

Oh, this is fantastic! I just got my Scor-Pal for Christmas, but haven't had a chance to use it yet (ONLY because we've been out of town visiting during the holidays!)...I think this will be my first project!

The photos do not appear on top of the text on my screen on either the web site or the PDF document, so the text is easily readable. You may want to try changing your resolution or text size to a smaller size to see if that helps.

Actually I am in the process of doing up a chart as we speak, what paper size to cut and where to score for the most common sizes. The formulas are fairly easy once you have the hang of it. I am also working out the scoring for making envelopes with the triangle flaps. This is the better way to go when you have large square cards like 5" x 5". All this will be in the upcoming "Scor-Pal Basics".

Oh, I can't wait! I do a lot of square cards, and I do like the triangle-flapped cards!
I just made my first two envelopes using the tutorial. First, I made the A5 one to warm up. That was easy-peasy because Lauren had the numbers right there. Then I used the formula to see how it would do on a wonky size of card...2.5 X 4. It worked perfectly! SO easy! Once I had the numbers down, it literally took me seconds!
But it would be fantastic to have a chart. That would make it even faster to whip these babies up in a flash!

envelobox sounds like it could be very useful. thanks for the link to the envelop tutorial. I have been reluctant to make cards that don't fit the standard envelopes that I have. now I am free to get creative with my cards.

Personally, I would not use the tape. It adheres differently than you would want for the envelope flap. A glue stick would be better. I made 90 enveopes for my wedding invitations and closed them with stickers. They keep the flap down enough for shipping and the flap will open easily without ripping the envelope. I know when I receive a card I want to keep, I like to keep it in its original envelope. Using tape would destroy the envelope. You can use temporary adhesive, but sometimes that becomes a bit permanant causing ripping also.
I haven't seen envelope glue anywhere but I did come across a recipe for making your own. I've never tried it but it seems like it would work. Hope this link works. The Crafty Teacher: Make Your Own Envelope Glue or Stamp Paper

I just stumbled onto this thread - and there is a remoistenable envelope glue. It is called Lick & Stick and I found it at Hobby Lobby. I've attached a picture of it - it's a scan and not the greatest. Hope this helps.
This looks the same as the glue which used to be sold by the Create-a-Lope people. They have a stiff template for tearing paper to make various sizes of envelopes....instead of cutting, that way you can use wrapping paper, old calendar pages, designer paper, etc. for envelopes. I bought one YEARS ago (and of course, it's probably still resting peacefully/suffering benign neglect in the original box somewhere!) but I do recognize the lick'n stick glue. Jan

Is someone with great math skills going to be making a chart for us sometime? I loved the one with the marks already predone for us. Love my scor-pal just need more instruction.
I don't have a Scor-Pal yet, but I was intrigued by the envelope tutorial. I've attached a spreadsheet with common card lengths and widths. If I read the tutorial correctly, it should calculate the size to cut your paper and where to place the score lines running the width of the paper. I used the names of the card sizes that SU put at the back of its catalog.
In addition, there are blank cells at the bottom of the worksheet where you can type in your own card length and width and have it do the calculations for you.
Someone with a scor-pal may need to double check my instructions since I am attempting to do this "blind." Hopefully I will go get my scor-pal this weekend.

This is amazing. As soon as I get time, hopefully next week I can check these out but just glancing briefly it looks awesome. The only card I think we will have to make adjustments on is the 5" square as the paper needs to be 12.5" wide. We will need to 1/2 side scores to accommodate 12" width paper. It may be better to go to a triangular flap envelope. I will check this out also.

I use "Lick & Stick"...you apply it and let it dry and then moisten it when you are ready to seal the envelope. It works great....I've used it for years. Here is a link at Amazon/Joann:
I have a Scor Pal and just love it!! I noticed they have a revised one. What's changed?
Also Diana you mentioned that there would be a new envelope tutorial on the 'pointed envelopes' in the Scor Pal Basics coming up. Is it there yet? I tried to get into the Basics section tonite but couldn't get into it for whatever reason.
