SBVC03 Eyelet Doodling 11.23.07
SBVC03 Eyelet Doodling 11.23.07
How about a cool technique this week? It's called eyelet doodling. Here's what you'll need:
2 pieces cardstock, with high contrast
pencil
hole punches in various sizes, 2 is okay - 3 is better
Step 1: Draw a doodle in pencil, lightly (or stamp on the back of your paper with a doodle stamp). It can be as simple or elaborate as you'd like. You can always practice on scraps, then trace your design on your good paper.
Step 2: With the largest hole punch, randomly punch large holes in your design.
Step 3: With the middle sized hole punch, punch holes in your design.
Step 4: With the smallest hole punch, finish putting holes in your design.
Step 5: Erase the remaining pencil lines, LIGHTLY, so as not to tear your paper.
Step 6: Take your coordinating cardstock and place behind your punched design.
TIP: Try not to punch the holes TOO closely, but spaced about evenly apart for the best result.
I can't wait to see some doodling.

so glad you are liking the challenge.
sorry you've been in a rut lately Donna. I've seen this done with awesome results - one page had a border with pics of their kid in one of those kiddy cars - looked like a crazy driver thing, the possibities are endless.

I know - I can't believe how long it's been since I've done a challenge! {head hanging} I have done a couple of 12x12 albums for family members (sans photos) and used the sketch challenges and Sally's sketches for the layouts, but no pics on them, so didn't upload them.
I did something like this a while ago - here's the link to that page in my gallery - Fun in the Sun by MaryR at Splitcoaststampers - wow, what a bad pic of my page!
I'd like to do this one this week - love your samples

do you have any doodle stamps? stamp on the back of your paper and use it as a pattern or stamp on a piece of scrap paper, punch it then use a pencil and mark your holes.

Peggy, this was a great challenge. I love how this turns out. My border was done along the side and bottom in a wavy patter. Mahalo for looking.

This is such a cool technique, Peggy! I changed it up just a bit to better fit my photo, but I'd like to try it the right way too. Here's mine:

I don't think there is a "right way" and the way you did the technique for your picture is perfect. great job!

Lol, as always...I got my page done! Now if I can just get the sun to cooperate tomorrow morning I'll get it uploaded. I try and try to take pictures inside and still haven't found a lighting source that does a good job. LOVED this challenge and had a blast! Thanks!
