Sketch Challenge 48
Reminder: Please put SC48 in the keywords box when you upload your creation!
Master Thread
I apologize for being late on the last couple of sketches. My grandmother has been in the hospital for the last three weeks and it has been a whirlwind of hospital visits and family meetings to determine what is going to happen when she is finally released. The days are all mushing together and so are the weeks. I can't seem to catch Wednesday until its not Wednesday any more lol
This week's sketch is inspired by a lovely card done by Cleo. Ovals are a very underused shape in cardmaking and we all need to jump on the simply elegant oval bandwagon! I love how Cleo combined the larger oval with the smaller overlapping image - beautiful!

Andrea thanks so much for continuing to post these challenges so faithfully despite everything your family is going through and all the posting issues here at SCS. ((((HUGS)))))

Here's probably the smallest oval I've ever cut. Caved in and got our Colluzle - so glad I did as I think it's way better than the CM system I have. The card was punched out using the Terrific Tags punch.

Susie, I'm glad to know you like the Colluzle so much over the CM system. That's what I have and am relunctant to pull it all out. I was also debating on getting our Colluzle, so I'm glad to hear you like it! Can't wait to see your card -- it's still pending.
Meanwhile, I'm working on my sketch challenge! I'll be back soon with it . . .

Okay, here it is! Andrea, thanks so much for taking the time to post these challenges with so much going on in your life right now. I hope your grandmother is home & better soon.
I love using ovals on cards -- it's not done enough, I think. Here's my Blocked Oval Santa card. Great challenge, Andrea!
Thanks for looking!

I'm hoping to get to play this time, too! I went ahead & made a sketch in my Paint program (hope you don't mind, Andrea...I'm just trying to help, not step on your toes...you're far too valuable for me to do that!!), for those that don't want to see the inspiration card first. :-)

Dear Andrea, I hope all is going ok with your grandma. It is wonderful that she has family close by to help out. Take care, Nancy
I used my Creative Memories oval cutting system for the very 1st time for this SC48 card, which I combined with CC37. Enjoy, Nancy

Well ladies,
I've been dying to participate in more of these challenges. But, my supply of colors, stamp sets, time to stamp, etc. has been limited. I came on Splitcoast the other day and thought "at last a challenge I can do!!" So, a few days later, I started working on my card. I so wanted it to be worthy!!
Well, I got it all done and proudly came up to post it only to realize that like a bonehead, I had used my circle cutter instead of the oval cutter. Went down to modify card and have and "oval snowglobe?" and couldn't find the oval cutter.
So, I hope I'm not in trouble for posting a circle shaped card on this challenge. But, I just worked so hard on it!! Please forgive me and I hope you like it!!

I'm catching up on my challenges. I love this sketch! I opted not to do any ribbon down the side, instead I used crimped paper behind the oval (I really need to get my Coluzzle oval set, the CM ones have too much border for my taste).
