Default Life Definitely Does Happen

There was a lengthy discussion today about a hostess who didn't get her swaps back to people. We all said ~ Life Happens, be patient. Let me tell you, life does happen. I stopped tonight to pick up pheasant feathers to finish the cards I'm working on and when I went out to my car, she wouldn't start. This was 5:30. I just got home, bathed, and ate a little something before jumping on here. My plans tonight were to finish a swap I'm participating in and sort another swap. I'm emotionally exhausted and creating cards ~ not going to happen. I'm completely blocked.

So ladies, life does happen. Cars that have never considered having a problem do die. Keep us in your thoughts. I don't get paid if I miss work, rent's due, and there's not a lot of difference between my deductible and what it will cost to just have someone in town fix the car. And worst of all, I am not going to be able to finish the swap and get it to the PO tomorrow because it's too far to walk.

Kymbers, I am sure if you just email all in the swap there is noone on this board who will hold it against you.. .I have a feeling that all can be forgiven when one is willing to communicate!
I sure hope your car can be fixed easily with out much money involved!!!! I know how horrible car deals can be! Thank God my hubby can fix ours when it has needed it! Do you have someone who can help you out?

Kymber,
About the only thing I can do for a car is air the tires, check the oil, maybe change a tire, and fill it with gas. If I were in your swap, just your email explaining your plight would be 100% sufficient. I'll bet several other SCS-ers would feel the same way.

Smiles,
~TexasGrammy

Britta ~ you've been in my swaps, you know how much I over communicate. It's odd, the worst part is being blocked and totally wanting to stamp.

The good Lord saw fit to send me a tow truck driver that really made sure I wouldn't get ripped off through all of this, so I'm not worried about the car, but it's just that every penny counts around the first of the month. And I hate feeling like I'm a flake not getting this swap finished on time. I know I should be grateful, I haven't had a car problem in almost 5 years, it would just be so much better if it had happend next weekend instead of this one.

Thanks for all the good thoughts. I know I'll get through this and having you guys really helps.

I so feel your pain. I came out of the grogery store in the middle of summer 95 degrees in the shade and 500.00 worth of melting assorted food. To find a flat tire. Ok, I'm a big girl I go to change the tire and find I have everything to do this except (and here's the technical term) the nut taker-offer- thingy. I was then told that most cars we buy over here seem to be missing these. Hmm, a tow tuck company conspiracy, we will never know!!
So hugs from me to you.
