TLC133 - Make a little (Gamsol) magic
Today's technique is Gamsol Magic....using colored pencils and Gamsol (odorless mineral spirits) to color images with WOW!
Here is the awesome tutorial from our resources page:
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/gamsolmagic.php
There is a special section of the Gallery set aside for Gamsol Magic. Please upload your creation there, and use the keyword

Have fun!
ETA: if you don't have prismacolor pencils or gamsol...read ahead for some substitutions!

I use the Mona Lisa brand of odorless mineral spirits instead of Gamsol, and it works well. I found it at Michaels in the artist supply aisle...with the turpentine and oil paints.

There are some alternate supplies listed at the end of the tutorial.
Many times our creative bunch of stampers have already found and will share their wonderful substitutions for unique supplies, such as using baby oil instead of gamsol.
If you don't have those either, please enjoy the gallery this week. Sometimes the TLC requires unique supplies. I do try to spread these type of techniques out, so that most people can play most of the time.

SU's Metallic pencils and Pure color pencils also work great with this technique (as I don't have any prisma pencils either). I too use baby oil with the pencils.
Fun, fun, Beth!

If you have any rubbing alcohol that works too. Just grab a cotton swap if you don't have stumps.

See, now this is why I love this site!!!! I love the look of this technique but like a few of you, don't have the supplies. But now I read I can try this with baby oil and watercolour pencils??? Is this right???? And use cotton swabs instead of stumps???? WOW!!! It might not meet the challenge criteria (which I appreciate that sometimes I won't be able to participate in all of them!!!) but I'm going to give this a go with some alternatives!!!!! TFS everyone!!!!!

There is a tutorial on the Prismacolor website where the artist is using alcohol and swabs. I found it very interesting.

OK well I didn't know the Gamsol was meant for wax based colored pencils and I have been using it with my SU watercolor pencils. It works just fine. At least as far as I can tell. I will give it a try again for this challenge and let y'all decide if it works when I post it

Well that was fun! Thanks for getting me jumpstarted! I bought the gamsol two weeks ago and it's been sitting, unused in my craft room!
Here's my first try at it.
