LSC120 - Patriotic Style
There are 2 ways to do this challenge. Both use patriotic colors... that includes paper, ink, and embellishments. You may use the traditional colors or shades of those colors. For example: In the United States, you may use ruby red or another shade of red instead of real red and maybe a couple of shades of blue. You may add any neutrals.
Option 1:
Use patriotic colors to make a patriotic themed card but don't use traditional patriotic stamps. Example: Fourth of July card but don't use flags, Statue of Liberty, fireworks, etc.
Option 2:
Use patriotic colors and any images, but it can't be a patriotic card. Make a different themed card like Thinking of You, Get Well, Birthday, etc.
Keyword: LSC120
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!
Need help linking a card? Follow these instructions!
1. Open 2 windows. One window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Got to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Your done!

Great idea -- patriotic colors, but no patriotic stamps! I actually made a birthday card the other day for my grandson using red, white, and blue. Will have to come up with another one, I guess! Will get on this one after work. Thanks, Jen. Enjoy your summer!

For option 1... Well.... Hmmm. Stars make me think of USA style decorations. Does anyone else have an opinion? I''m staying neutral. :p

I think of stars as a patriotic stamp because of our flag..........so I'd say NO star stamps. That's just my opinion though.

Stars and stripes are definitely what I think of as USA Patriotic. But it's hard to think of something for that first option! What a fun challenge!! Off to see what I have....

Okay, Jen, you're on! This will be easy for me: only 2 colours needed, red & white, but maybe I'll stick in a dash of blue just for fun.

OK - I just went up to look at everyone's cards and comments - OOOPS! I am afraid I used a star for one of my cards. It is a "western" style star...hope that is OK.

I was planning on making a get well card for my Dad today. I had this layout in my mind, and when I saw today's challenge, it made it easy to pick the colors. Thanks Jen!

If I understood correctly, stars are okay as long as you are doing option 2 and not doing a patriotic card. (Jen used stars on her 1st card example). Correct me if Im wrong!! Sounds like a fun challenge, hoping I have time to play today. Thanks Jen for the great challenge!

I went with Option 2 - patriotic colors and any images, but it can't be a patriotic card. Thanks Jen, fun challenge!

Just clearing up something... ;)
Option 2 can use stars or any other images since the theme is what's not going to be patriotic.... instead it will be birthday, thank you, or something else not patriotic related. Use any images for option 2
