Thursday again already and time for another Ways to Use it Challenge! Thanks for joining me here today...hope you all have time to play along! If you don't have time today...please feel free to play all week as there are no time limits!
This week my challenge for you is to find ways to use Coasters in your designs. You can use coasters in a card or any other project you wish that incorporates them! Coasters can be purchased on-line, at your local scrapbooking store, sometimes at Michael's...maybe even your dollar store! I hope you can find them as they are loads of fun!
Please remember to put WT112 in your keywords section and post a link back on this thread so that we can all see your work! If you have an example in your gallery you wish to share, that is fine but please limit it to one and make sure you make another. This is a challenge to make something new after all!
Below are a few examples to get you going! The gallery is FULL of great ideas...I only had time to pick a few. If you have the time, click on this COASTER LINK ...it will show you all the samples in the gallery using coasters!
I just use chipboard and cut in square and use corner rounder to round the edges when I run out. just a thought for those that want to play that might not have them but have chipboard sheets.
Argh.. coasters.. I haven't tried those yet. I think my son has some he was saving from a restaurant we went to.. wonder if he'll notice they're missing.. wonder if I can find them in his messy room!!
Wow---i am coaster crazy!!!Just did a big buy with my demo group and we did the coaster books! I love the boxes and i am just finishing up a 'welcome sign'---so, today may be the day I finish it, just so i can post it. I already have a bunch of stuff in my gallery, but i need to put something new in---thanks for the challenge!

Fun challenge, but I don't have any either and was thinking I could do this. What dimensions are they? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.
I just got some from the $1 bin at Micheals. They have pictures on them but I thought I could cover them with DP. I've never used coasters before so thanks for the challenge, Julia. Will have to do this after work.

Here's one I just uploaded the other day. It's a group of coasters that I had each one of my DD's classmates draw on one side and write a teacher appreciation note . Then on the other side I decorated it with DP and put on both a 2007 and 2008 calendars. Also I scaned in the class picture made it smaller and added it. Lastly I added in the teacher survival kit list. TFL
Hey, Julia!! I have some really strange coasters. I got some oval ones from a local restaurant. Can I use those? Or should I cut them to be square (they will be small if I do that).
Oh, fun one, Julia. What a great bunch of samples! I bought a bunch of coasters months ago from Silvia and have only used them to make 2 boxes + an unfinished one. Love the ideas. Thanks, Julia.

How fun. By all means use them as they are. Yours will be unique.
I've seen so many cute things done with coasters lately, I've actually got tropicalichick (Amanda) mailing me some AS WE SPEAK!! However, I don't think they'll get here in time, hence my need to SHOP Thanks, Julia!

I don't have a single coaster and no store close - but I have chipboard I planned to use in the cuttlebug then was not brave enough. I see Julia embossed the coaster. I need to figure out if two B plates are used - seems like it would be too thick.
I have a stack sitting here from Silvia that I bought and have not used yet. I guess this is perfect.... Except I have no idea what I will do with them yet.... Off to think.... Thanks Julia!

Absolutley! if they are coasters...no matter what shape...use them! Can't wait to see! I bought some round ones at Michael's a couple months ago...they would work great too!
I love coasters! I don't have time to play today (dang, gotta work :-(), but here's the post-it note holder I made a few days ago with chipboard coasters:
Wow! Cool challenge, Julia! I have some round ones in all different sizes that I bought a while back! I'll have to see what I can come up with! I'm in the market for some square ones if anyone is selling to Canada...
