Ways to Use IT Challenge - WT03 - Thursday challenge
Good morning,
This week's Thursday challenge is to use VELLUM in your cards. I love the soft or classy look of vellum and Mother's Day and wedding season are just around the corner. Please also feel free to post any hints or tips you have for working with vellum.
Also please remember to put WT03 in your keywords section as well as post the link back here so that we can all view your art work and this topic stays bumped up.
Can't wait to see what you all come up with!
Julia

PS. Sorry I don't have any cards to start you off. I ran out of glue yesterday and need to run out and buy some this morning.

I've never used vellum! I have some, but it's intimidating! This is just the challenge I need! I'll try to play later tonight!

I just posted a card this week using vellum. I know this is "cheating" but wanted to give some needing ideas a way to use vellum. I'll get something else posted since I plan to use vellum for my class that I'm having on Monday night.
Tip: When I'm using vellum, I like to attach it to the card by eyelets, brads or ribbon. I'm still looking for a tape that is not visible thru the vellum. I've tried several with not much luck.
Here's the card:

I forgot I've also posted this card this week:

Here are a few of the cards I've made with vellum during the past few days the forums have been down. I love the way vellum can be used to mat something you are having a hard time finding a matching color for and it's great for stamping and embossing on.

Julia,
Just a quick note to thank you for the link. It answers every question I ever had about vellum and more. Now I can get out those packs I have and actually use them!

Hi theeb,
Glad you found this challenge! Thanks for posting all those cards, they look great. We start another challenge tomorrow and hope you can join that as well. Hopefully more people will join in with the easier forum format.

This is my first attempt at a challenge. Bit of a cheat really as I cased it from the 2004-2005 IIBC, but I was entering the Game On challenge too!
I'm not that happy with it, but hopefully with practice I can start to improve!

This is one of my favorite ways of using vellum. I use it for snow and sometimes water too. For clouds:

Here is a card with a strip of vellum:
Happy Birthday Butterfly
I stamped directly onto the vellum. I really like the elegance that the vellum brings to the card front. Thanks for Looking!

Going back and doing as many of the old WT challenges as I can. (4 will be skipped.) Here's my take on #3, which is also inspired by the current sketch and Featured Stamper challenges. Bluebonnet Thank You
