I have a good friend and co-worker who has fallen very ill. She is a wonderful teacher, friend and wife, and is only 26 years old. She had not been feeling well for some time, and her symptoms led her to believe she might be pregnant. She had a doctor's appointment scheduled for this past Friday, but by last Monday began throwing up blood. She was rushed to the hospital, and tests have shown her liver has failed her. They sedated her to run a few other tests, and while sedated she slipped into a coma. They are not sure she will wake up or not, but if she does, they fear brain damage. In the very best case, she will need several months of recovery time at home and will not be able to work. She will very likely need a liver translplant, if she wakes up.
To make matters worse, her family lives in Florida, and she and her husband just moved here (Colorado) last summer, so they don't have a lot of people here that they know to lean on in these tough times.
I'm asking if you might think of making her a card. I'd love to fill her hospital room with color for when she wakes up! Her name is Larissa. If you would like to send Larissa a card, please send it to me and I will get them to her. My address is below. Thank you for your kindness.

Thank you for your kindness and prayers. Larissa was pronounced brain dead last night and was removed from life support. She passed away this morning, peacefully, having never woken up.
I have received a few cards and will be taking them to her family. Should others arrive, I will send them on, too. Hopefully the kindness of others will ease some of their pain.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend...it must be such a shock for you all. I am sending along a card .Hopefully it will be some comfort to know that people from all corners are thinking about and praying for you and her family.
