Composition Notebooks is something I have meant to try for ages, and I finally had a reason to try one. My mom was going to California and Florida over the holidays for some major sightseeing. I knew it would be an adventure for her, so I created a notebook called "The Adventures of Amma" for her to record her fun times. Amma's Notebook
Here is a fabulous tutorial created by Trish. It is a .pdf, so right click to save it to your computer and then open it. THANKS, Trish, for such a wonderful tutorial! Trish's directions
I did mine a bit different...I didn't cover the insides of the journal like Trish does. Mostly because I was in a hurry! You can read the details in the description in the gallery.
If you have been putting off trying one, don't! They are easy and really fun.
There is a special section of the gallery for Composition Notebooks...It is under "Handmade Journals/Altered Composition Notebooks" Please help us keep the the gallery neat and tidy by uploading your creation there. Thanks.
When you upload, please put TLC99 in the keyword section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread. If you are new to the challenges, or need help uploading or linking, click here.
As always, I am in search of suggestions for techniques for future TLCs! Please PM with suggestions and a link to the directions and/or a sample if you can
This is gonna be so much fun!! I have a huge stash of notebooks from all my trips to the $1 store and Mike's. I LOVE covering these things... And I have the whole day to play... no work!!
DD#1 just asked me to check the challenge. I think I have one laying around that she can use if she wants to do the challenge! No school so might as well stamp! ;)
Cool challenge, Beth. Too bad - I don't have any of these. But this is really scary! I was digging around in the basement to see if I had one and I came across a box full of maternity clothes - yikes! Don't know how that one got missed. My baby is 18! Good Will here I come!
I dont know what kind of notebooks I have--most are already full! I'm going to scrounge around and find SOMETHING, though, because this looks really fun!
Oh, I don't have anything that will work, and the roads are so treacherous and icy that I won't be venturing out today. I will try this later in the week, though.
I did 4 of these at christmas time. Meant to take pictures, but forgot. I made them for the men. Our GSIL is a Michigan fan, so I did his in Michigan colors & Put Michigan embellishments. Our one SIL likes Batman so did his with Batman stickers. Our other SIL is a great carpenter so did his with tools. I will see if I can come up with another one today.

Thanks for the challenge Beth! I don't have any composition notebooks, but really need to use my rubicoil more, so thanks for making me get it out!
Here's my first attempt: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I didn't have a composition book to cover, but I did have an old address book that desperately needed it! Here it is... TFL Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Thanks for the challenge, Beth. These are good to have on hand to give as simple little gifts. Mine is on the simple side (I didn't have a comp book, only a Target notebook), but I think my niece will love it...
This is my first time doing a comp book, too, although I've had some sitting here in my stamp room for months - thanks for this challenge on a Monday morning; it got me moving!
Here's my book
